I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.
My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.
Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!

This is the kind of story that makes me wonder if I’m the weirdo that likes what most dislikes and doesn’t like much what most people applauds.
Dorian is my type of hero. He’s the nicest boyfriend, caring, loving, indulgent, with the coolest demeanor, still possessive and protective and yet smoldering hot, over-all awesome lover. Who cares if he’s got a stoic attitude?! He’s lived for possibly a millennia therefore he knows how to keep his cool so we really cannot blame him for not losing it like anyone else, human or otherwise. Not to mention he’s kind of a leader and there is a lot for what’s he’s responsible. Now, Cora…I've dubbed her Cora “woe is me” Shaw. The first part of the story seemed like she was her usual whinny self and just couldn't find joy in anything at all, not even with Dorian! And that really annoyed me! She kept bringing up the bond and how the bond manipulates her mind and feelings and how much she’s not herself because of the bond, and how much she loves Dorian because of it, blah, blah, blah bond. Agh! She takes the romanticism out of the relationship and story every time she brings it up. Woman, why can’t you see how wonderful he is and that perhaps you are in love with the guy because of who he is! And you can’t be apart from him because you love him! *long sigh*
OK. Vent over… Sorry, needed to get that out of the way… It’s just that most people seemed to excuse her behavior and said Dorian needed to loosen up and I was like “No! Cora needs to the thing called Growing UP!” … didn't I say venting over? ;)
The second part of the story was fascinating to say the least! Ms. Woe-is-Me’s world turns upside-down and doesn't even know the cause. When she finds out, she gets really upset with Dorian and feels cheated. I’d have reacted pretty much the same way. Let’s just say he treated her as a child and didn't trust her reaction to his decisions, however ahem! As per my own vent above, I don’t think I could blame the guy much. The best part of it all is the make up session and the place it takes place. Ooooh yeeaaah.
I still have high hopes for Cora. She’s showed strength and understanding at times, she just needs to fully come up to terms with her new life. I know it’s soon but c’mon, life is too short, even for an immortal as recently witnessed.

Cora is bombarded with more emotional turmoil when it comes to Dorian’s world and the reader can’t help but get caught in all the uproar that results when Dorian’s enemies strike a devastating blow to their project. These strong compelling characters continue to draw readers into their complex and fascinating world and the fast paced, smooth flowing plot mesmerizes readers with lots of suspense and passion while expectations constantly build tension throughout the story. The intriguing events ensure that readers come back for more and Dorian and Cora’s passion continues to grow even hotter while they continue with their wedding plans despite all the chaos.
Once again, I was completely enthralled in the story from the very beginning and there was no way that I could put it down, especially with the continuous happenings and of course there is a shocking cliffhanger which means I can’t wait to read to find out what happens next.

Poor Cora when I finally think she going to get a break and live her HEA something tragic happened. Cora & Damien find out they have a traitor in their mitts they gather all the employees to single out the traitor. When everyone's gather up it it was Cora who ends up finding out who the traitor is but when she tries to single him out he end up killing himself instead and to Cora surprise she didn't even have a break down when it occurred. Finally Cora & Damien start putting all the pieces together the reason why his friend was murdered it all started to make sense of them Cora realize that Damien's world it's a lot to take in compare to her her old life she start questioning herself is it really worth trying to hold on to her old life. Cora start adding the finish touches for her wedding her best friend Lisette plans her a bachelorette party all seems fine everyone's having a good time until Geoff crashes her party starts telling her some weird stuff about Dorians kind I'm really starting to question his motives. Can't wait to see what going to happen next.

This one lost a bit of momentum for me (this may be contributed by the fact that I was in a 2-month book slump at the beginning of the year), but it felt a bit more drawn out than the last couple of books in terms of progression with Cora and Dorian's wedding and the battle that is raging in the interim.
That being said, it was still another great turn in the Cora's Bond series. I'm curious how Ms. Black will tie up all the loose ends in the next installment which is planned as the last in the series.
And that end! Another cliffhanger! It's been a bit of a wait for book six, World Enough and Time: Cora's Bond Vampire Series #6, but I'm hoping it will be well worth it!

This starts off with finding out who has betrayed Dorian and then we have death. And Cora finds out how close their bond is when she feels Dorian's pain after he risks himself and puts himself in danger. All the while wedding plans are still going on and eventually a fun bachelorette party that ends with a missing friend. Where is she and who has her??? I hope nothing bad happens to her I really like that friend a lot! Also Geoff acting strange again...
Can Cora and Dorian finally have their wedding and their happily ever after?
Hope so in the next one...

Go Team Vicki! She scores AGAIN!!!! Time after Time continues with the story of Cora and her beloved Dorian. In this book, however, Cora is drawn even further into Dorian's world of mystery, expectations, tradition, excitement, intrigue, death, and even murder! V.M. Black throws in an amazing "who-dunnit" story amidst everything else that is going on, and what a ride it was! And IS!!! I am waiting, biting my nails still, counting down the days until the next book! At the heart of it all is the everlasting love story between Cora and her vampire. Stronger than ever! And hotter than ever! YOU ARE MISSING OUT IF YOU AREN'T READING THESE BOOKS! This author truly is amazing, and will pull you in on the very first page!

Ok, so this morning I made a coffee and decided to start time after time While I drank it....... I didn't move again till I finished the book ! Just as well I didn't have anything important to do today lol.
Without spoiling it for those that haven't read it yet, I have to say I LOVED the way Cora displayed her feelings to Dorian as they entered the lift after the wake ! Made me grin and say good girl lol.
From start to finish I was totally engrossed in this book, the wedding is only a week away and everything is coming to a head, we have betrayal, danger, drama, retaliation and a bachelorette party ! in my opinion it's the best one yet.
VM Black just keeps getting better and better.

OH MY FRAKING GOD!!!!
Times like this i really don't know if i should love the brilliance of Vicky or hate it!!!
Once again she has managed to write a fantastic story about Cora and Dorian that is packed with action,sentiment,sex ,blood and an emotional roller coster that will have you craving for more!!!!
An addictive story once again were we find Cora and Dorian closer to their wedding and at the same time they find traitors among their mist,
a retribution that has to be taken and of course a party for the bride, a funeral for lost friends and shocking happenings.
Once again Vicky leaves as hanging on a thrread as once again the ending is abrupt and daaaaamnnnn the next book is not yet out!

Just finished this fifth installment in the Cora's Bond series and everything is coming to a head. We only have one book left and it has hit the fan. Cora suffers great physical pain, due to her link to Dorian, who has put his life on the line and suffered life threatening injuries, trying to even the score with their enemies. Enemies who have taken Cora's bestie, Lisette, after their fun filled night at her bachlorette party. Our couple's wedding grows near and it will all come down to the last book. This series is action packed and such a great love story, between Dorian and Cora that it is impossible to put it down once you start reading it.

Book 5 of the Cora's Bond series. The traitor has been found and dealt with. Now Cora and Dorian can focus on their up coming wedding or can they? The Kyrioi are up to no good and now they've taken someone who is very close to Cora. Will Cora and Dorian get the break they deserve?? Can't wait for the final instalment to find out!!

As always, another great book by V.M. Black, I am never disappointed. There are always several different things going on, wedding plans, wakes, vampire provings, bachelorette parties, kidnappings, that you are constantly drawn in and left wanting more. I'm in a catch 22 - can't wait for the next book, but in the same sense, it's the last book in this series. Happy and sad at the same time.

This is such a great read. The advertises that Cora and Doreen have to go through. Love and wedding stuff. A problem that could cause more problems? Time will tell. Or is it all in the daily life of Doreen? This is a must read.

Cora and Dorian's story just keeps getting better , their love is getting stronger and their sex life is off the charts!
They know they have a trader in their ranks in the lab so everyone is gather without warning and very quickly and lined up for the proving and others are being picked up at their homes and brought to the mansion so they can be proven.
Cora has the sad yet also relieved closing on her grandmothers house, of course her bestie Lissette is going with her for moral support and Clarissa tags along and drives to keep Cora safe.
Cora doesn't get to see Dorian most of the week because he has things to deal with because of the trader and also Jean & Hattie's deaths.
Lissette has Cora's bachelorette party all planned out, she got all the ladie's T shirts that say bridesmaid on them, hers of course says maid of honor and Coras Bride. The girls have a great time until Geoff shows up, he tells had a bunch of stuff that he said Clarissa told him one night at a party and upsets Cora, he leaves and right after that Dorian shows up, they need some time together and decide to leave and instead of going over to the group to say goodbyes she sends Lissette a text and explains they are leaving and thanking her for the great time, and a goodbye to the other ladies. A couple of days later when she calls her dorm she finds out that one of the girls is missing.......

I am very bless to be a part of the ARC team to read, review and give a honest review. I am a FAN of Vicky and I love all of her books I have read and this book the fifth installment of Cora's Bond is just another great book in this series.
OMG Cora's Bond series is just AWESOME!!! There Is Love, Hot Sex and Drama. It has made laugh and sometime a little mad. Cora and Dorian wedding is getting nearer and her friend intends to give her a bachelorette party. Can you imagine Dorian having a Vampire bachelor party ( ha ha ) :-). Then Dorian realizes his team has traitors and his research has been stolen. Then Lisette is taken by the Kyrioi and they must get back, hopefully not harm. I really have had lots of laughs reading this series. But of course this is the end but not the end. We all will have to wait for this next book to see how everything works out for Dorian and Cora. I imagine a beautiful wedding and Dorian and his team to triumph over the Kyrioi at last and Cora friend will be with her not that she has been turn into a Cognate. I am on the edge of my seat and very anxious for the next book in this series. There is something to say about more cliff hangers. The story continues for which I love.

Traitirs and Kidnappers! After all the precautions Dorian has taken to protect his research, he finds out that there is a traitor in his lab. Cora watches horrified as one of the employees commits suicide rather than get punished for what he has done. Once Dorian has made sure that another employee can't do the same, he continues proving the rest. They find two more employees that were used to steal the research, one has killed himself the other was prevented from doing the same. They realize that Jean's murder and Hattie's suicide were used by the Kyrioi to access to the employees and put them in thrall, and then forced to turn over the research. Dorian and other Adelphoi punish the Kyrioi for their treachery.
Lisette, Cora's best friend and maid-of-honor, plans a bachelorette party. Much to Cora's surprise the cognates and one of the agnates in her wedding party come along on the club hopping Lisette has planned. After a good time with her friends, Cora leaves the last club and goes home with Dorian. The next day Cora discovers that Lisette has been kidnapped by the Kyrioi. Things were going so good and another traitor is unveiled. The plot to stop the research is uncovered and things start falling into place. Cora is starting to feel more a part of Dorians world and is questioning her personal resolve and choices. Its harder to be away from Dorian and continue her college life when she is starting to see the big picture and feeling the pull more intensely. The bond between our two characters is getting stronger and starts to work both ways causing Cora to be confused and agitated. The wedding plans are moving forward as the big day approaches things are starting to look up, but the bad guys have other plans and the threat is still there. There was a lot of information revealed in this segment and all the events are starting to come together. There was an implied threat that I am anxious to see how the author incorporates into the coming storyline and I think it is going to really hit Cora hard. Both characters seemed to do a bit of growing in this book, but they both need to start being a team or things are never going to smooth between them. The characters, the drama, the friendships, the intrigue, the love story and the HOT love scenes are sure to keep you engaged and wanting for more.

Time After Time: Cora’s Bond 5
This is a continuation of Dorian and Cora’s relationship and thus far, I think this is the best one of the series. They have uncovered at least 5 different traitors from the lab and despite her continuing personal inner fights on what she is being made to give up by living in Dorian’s world; she realizes she is truly bond to him no matter what.
They are in a fight for not only their own lives but the fate of the world as a whole and the humans are totally unaware of such a fight.
Cora is also fighting to try and remain attached to her roots such as her human dreams of college and her friends and having a normal life despite no longer really being a normal human any longer. They are going forth with their wedding plans despite all the traitors and murders that have been thrown at them but get set for another surprise at the end. This is a continuation of Dorian and Cora’s relationship and thus far, I think this is the best one of the series. They have uncovered at least 5 different traitors from the lab and despite her continuing personal inner fights on what she is being made to give up by living in Dorian’s world; she realizes she is truly bond to him no matter what.
They are in a fight for not only their own lives but the fate of the world as a whole and the humans are totally unaware of such a fight.
Cora is also fighting to try and remain attached to her roots such as her human dreams of college and her friends and having a normal life despite no longer really being a normal human any longer. They are going forth with their wedding plans despite all the traitors and murders that have been thrown at them but get set for another surprise at the end. I could not believe what happened right from the start of the book and wondered what ramifications this would have for the Adelphoi in the future. I felt so bad for Cora when she was suffering being away from Dorian, thoughts kept going through my head of what must be happening. I have to say I got angry at Dorian when he kept refusing to talk to Cora and I thought she had every right to be furious and react the way she did. Once again some hot sexy scenes in all kinds of different places. I still think there is something going on at the Student Health Center at her college and I think I know what it is and if I am right "oh my gosh". I do not like Rebecca, she bothers me. I also didn't like that a certain person crashed her Bachelorette party and said things that at first seemed understanding but in the end I thought it was rude, he acted like Dorian was beneath him, I don't know it was a weird conversation. But the shocker of all shockers came after that, the next morning actually and I could not stop the tears from falling down my cheeks. I am nervous to read the next book but of course it can't come soon enough. I love this series.

So I am definitely not going to give out any spoilers. But if you are like me you are going to be shocked at who the traitor is. And when you find out who it is you're probably going to be like me and say 'dang i should have known that'. Ms. Black has weaved an intricate tale throughout the series that has taken Cora and Dorian in many directions. They are still fighting against the ever present danger yet at the same time Dorian is pushing Cora to move forward with the wedding of which she really does not want to do anymore. Is this a way for Dorian to keep her occuppied, out of harms way, maybe. But you will have to read the book to find out. Also we see Cora's connection to Dorian becomes stronger everyday. Is this a blessing in disguse? Does she feel elated because of the growing connection? Whether it is good or bad, the connection has Cora experiencing some unanticapted feelings. Oh and with the stronger connection, the sex even becomes more enthralling. I cant wait to see how Ms. Black is going to end this series. It has been a great journey thus far.

I received this as a ARC for a honest review! I will try not to post spoilers but there is always the chance it will happen so be warned!
Now, this book includes parts of the wedding planning. A brides party and a few other interesting twists you just do not see happening till it slams you in the face. I lost sleep so I could finish this book, that is just how good it was!!
I do like how Cora is starting to grow up and act slightly more in charge and adult like. It has me liking her a whole lot more! I like it that she is trying to hold on to part of her "humanity" while growing.
Now, Dorian I would love to see him loosen up a tad more. He feels so formal in this book. Some of the twists are so surprising when they do hit. This is a turning point in this book.
Now on a different note you should read the whole set to see how things go as you will be lost if you attempt to read this as a stand alone, just not possible. I am not sure about anyone else but I can see how the other books twist within this one and Vise Versa.. I can not wait to read the next book!!!

V.M. Black is the master of the serial universe. She as to her credit several serials, two ongoing at the moment that have captivated me in a way that I stalk her author page to see when the next release is coming out.
Time after Time finds us looking for the traitor amongst Dorian's staff, finding out why Hattie and Jean were murdered, Cora having to face that Dorian as always will do what he does, another note saying you are next, as well as Clarissa gets a haircut. hmmm a bob at that. wonder why? How does she end/cliffhanger this one...well......Spoilers sweetie... I don't do them! I will say..WOW...didn't expect that.
If you are reading reviews as I do to get an idea of the series and if it is even worth starting, then I will say yes..one click these now. I have loved everything this author wrote and she blew me away in her other current serial Taken by the Panther. V.M. Black's writing is intelligent, vibrant, and compellingly addictive.

OMG!!! Another FANTASTIC book with a cliffhanger ending that is killing me!!!
I realize that with every review I've posted in regards to Cora's Bond Series as well as Cora's Choice, I have pretty much said the same thing.....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these books, they continue to get even better and more HOT with each book and I highly recommend this Series to EVERYONE. Except minors because of the sexual content. One thing I would like to add is how much I LOVE Cora's BFF Lisette!! So, without getting into detail and spoiling anything for those that haven't had the pleasure of reading this yet all I will say is NOTHING had better happen to her or I will be extremely upset!! With that said, I cannot wait to start the final book of this amazing, thrilling and exciting Series, World Enough and Time!!! V. M. Black, you're FANTASTIC!!!

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author VM Black. This is #5 from the Cora's Bond book series by the author.
There is a traitor that threatens his hard work and Dorian is out to find out who it is and deal with it. Cora is still stressing and dealing with the wedding, school, attempts on her life and Dorian and his work. Hopefully things will calm down soon for her but when a shocking development happens it could send her reeling.
I love Cora and Dorian because even though they are vampires they act like a real couple. The author always creates a very smooth flowing story line and this is no exception.
This is for any paranormal romance book reader who likes mystery with their story. This is book 5 and it is best to read the stories in order.

I can't get enough of Cora and Dorian. They seem to be the perfect couple. Considering he's a vampire and he cured her of terminal cancer with his blood. It's trial after trial for these two. This time it's funeral ala vampire and then missing bridesmaid. And yet again a cliffhanger that drives me insane. This author knows just where to stop to make sure you want the next t one . It leaves me breathless. The sex is steamy and the betrayal is terrible. You must read this series. And the first book was free last time I checked . It's CORA'S BOND. Run Don't walk. To your computer and get it while you can

OMG Cora and Dorian have so many obstacles it's crazy. I'm so glad they found the traitor that messed with the research. I am very happy that Cora got to sell her grandmas house to a nice couple with kids so it will be a loved home. I completely agree with Cora being mad at Dorian for the stunt he pulled. He should have let her know what he was doing. And I'm glad Cora got to have a normal bachelorette party. I can't believe that the next book is the last! VM Black has delivered another amazing installment to Cora's story. Drama and romance delivered along with an OMG ending that leaves you dying for the next book. Thank you again Mrs Black
