Shawntelle Madison is a web developer who loves to weave words as well as code. She’d never admit it, but if asked she’d say she covets and collects source code. After losing her first summer job detassling corn, Shawntelle performed various jobs—from fast-food clerk to grunt programmer to university webmaster. Writing eccentric characters is her most favorite job of them all. On any particular day when she’s not surgically attached to her computer, she can be found watching cheesy horror movies or the latest action-packed anime. She lives in Missouri with her husband and children.
Okay, I'm curious. Werewolf clan versus Hunter clan, with a slight taste of Alpha Romeo and I'll-kick-your-arse-even-on-a-bad-day Juliet on the side. Let's see where it goes. Sounds like this pair both have enough problems with their own respective clans, do they really need to be taking on those of the other's on top of the animosity that being natural enemies will entail?
Cynthia is a hunter but hasn’t been able to due to her cancer but thanks to her brother making a deal with Kaden that might just change. Will Cynthia be able to accept help from her enemy a werewolf that she’s spent her whole life hunting? What is Kaden risking by healing Cynthia?
I like Cynthia she’s not stupid and realizes that maybe Kaden isn’t the typical werewolf who is starting trouble but really cares about his pack. I also liked Kaden willing to risk his heart to help his pack. They may come from different worlds but they work well together.
I picked up The Hunter’s Moon as a kindle freebie since it was by an author I enjoy. Typically I prefer my books to be much longer. However I think she’s done a great job creating a short little romance novel that I very much enjoyed. While it’s a short novel only 71 pages I didn’t find it lacking in story it has everything I need to be a happy camper. A fast paced story filled with action, romance and snow it was easy to read in just a short hour. My only complaint is that I want more, and I say that because I’ve loved the other werewolf books by the author. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
So werewolves killed Cyn's parents, so of course all are evil and must be exterminated. Throughout the course of this novella, she does begin to slowly change; of course, most faster due to size of story. The end was rushed. I still enjoyed this and it kept me entertained.
This series was pretty awesome. This is the first one and starts out with two stubborn characters bound to get together eventually. Even though Cyn starts out sick, she is still a spitfire and wont do anything without a fight. Can they come to an agreement or go down in flames.
This book has introduced me to a world of werewolves unlike any I’ve read before. Though, now that I’ve said that, it may not be entirely true. There’s a bit of an Underworld vibe, what with the trained human supernatural hunters attempting to eradicate werewolf clans and all. Cynthia is one of those human hunters. Her brother has brought her to Kaden, an alpha werewolf, in the hopes that his healing ability will cure her cancer. This book mostly just introduces the characters and gives us a frame of reference for the conflict between hunters and wolves. I’m interested in seeing where this story goes next.
Cynthia is a hunter who has cancer and only months to live. Her brother Zach also a hunter doesn't want her to die and does the only thing he can do to let her live. Give her to a Alpha Male and let him heal and turn her. She'll hate him but that's his only way. Kaden the alpha makes a deal with Zach but one look at Cynthia and he's smitten he wants her but only on her terms. He doesn't want to force her. So he let's her truly see the real him and what he truly believes in. Can Cynthia stop her hunter ways. Hmm just need to read to find out. Great story need to read
I really dislike this new serial trend because one episode only isn’t enough, in most case, to get a real opinion on a story. Now this first episode really made me want for more, it sounds really promising but at the same time I’m missing too much info, character’s background to fully enjoy it. We get a universe like ours but where werewolves are known and hunted like monsters….
Kaden is an alpha, a doctor too, and he is hell bent on protecting is pack. To reach that goal he made a bargain with an hunter to save his dying sister in exchange for such protection … however we ignore in what form: an alliance, information that’s left to be discovered. I really liked Kaden , we can feel his compassion and need to protect, he is really an attentive doctor but often to be able to study and practise he had to hide his nature.
Cynthia is dying from a cancer, before that she was a talented wolf hunter with her brother…since little she has been taught that werewolves were monsters, eating people and other things by her parents so she never questioned that teaching. When she wakes up in a cabin with an werewolf her first instinct is to try to kill him….slowly she learns that her brother is being her presence there but still she doubts Kaden’s intentions and doesn’t make it easy for him. I’m still not sure what to think of her….. I hate the fact she did never try to question what she was told, and it doesn’t help that I don’t really understand the hunters’ structure yet. So far we gather that they are organised in clan with some freelances but what are the clan really ( extended family? Group of people without blood link, what about the hierarchy etc)… She does seem worried because if her presence was to be known by other hunters she would be hunted as well….
This first episode is short but it’s evident the author wanted to catch the reader’s interest which is working but only if the rest of the story answer those questions…. So far we have a little idea of what hunters believe werewolves to be to nothing on the real habits of werewolves (safe that they can change without the moon) The relationship moves up a little too quickly for my taste as well but I understand it as being part of the serial conditions.
Do I want to read more? Yes definitively but I’m really relieved that the complete story exists in print already because no more serial for me for a time, it’s too frustrating. The print book is only available on amazon though so not that easily easy for me to obtain but I do have hope for the future as I really want to learn more about this universe and I like the author’s writing style
Cynthia is a hunter, not just any kind but a werewolf hunter. She is also dying. Kaden is a werewolf but a healer to his pack. Cynthia's brother makes a deal that will save Cynthia but end her career as a hunter. Kaden wants protection for his family. At the cost of his pack hating him he decides that the deal is done and will heal Cynthia. Can these two find common ground? Shawntell Madison sets the stage for a War of the Heart with these two. Cynthia is drawn to Kaden and in the dirtiest of ways (Wink). Passion, heat, desire hit these two hard in the gut. Can their love win the battle between the families? Will they last? I cannot wait to read more.
Cynthia is a hunter and dying from leukemia and the doctor gave her a few months to a year to live. She still hoping the treatments will work she's not ready to die. Then Zach does something unexpectantally and she wakes up in a strange place with no memory on how she got there. Kaden like all alpha can heal others and he made a deal with Cynthia's brother Zach to save her life. He's trying not to fall for her the more he tries the more he is pulled toward her Cyn is a strong alpha female that need to feel love.
Cynthia McGinnis is a hunter with cancer. Her brother Zach made a deal with an Alpha werewolf who is her only chance at healing. This is a world with inner city werewolf gangs. So werewolves are in the open and not at all trusted by humans. Cynthia is a hunter and her parents were hunters before her. Zach leaves the family Christmas tree to prove to her that he actually sent her there.
Kaden is the Alpha Werewolf. Naomi is Kaden's sister who is unhappy that Cyn is there.
I liked this story. Cyn and Kaden have the connection of his healing her.
Cyn is a hunter, and she is dying. Her brother brokers a deal with those that they hunt the wolf shifters to cure his sister. Kaden is the Alpha of his pack the one that accepts the deal to cure the huntress. Cyn wakes up in a bed with the Alpha and then the fun begins. No strength of body does not mean no strength of spirit and character! They have a bumper roller coaster ride ahead of them that's for sure. I really enjoyed this cute novella . Liked the twists in story as well.
This actually could have been a great book if the author had taken the time and effort to actually write it.
The storyline actually started off interesting with some intriguing characters and then, bam.... somehow I'm reading a scene in the book and I haven't got a clue of how I got there. It's like there were pages missing! Or more like the entire middle of the book.
One minute she is trying to leave and the next she is sexing him. I know this us a novella, but I thought I missed something and kept checking the previous pages.
One star for the price abd one for potential. But don't expect me to me care what happens since the attire didn't care to create a better story.
Ended abruptly but had an interesting story that might go somewhere good. I liked the attitudes of the characters, they were quirky but I'm not sure if I want to learn more about them. I think more could have been done to develop the characters as someone I want to read more about.
A werewolf and the hunter. Will they fall in love or rip each other apart? Must say I've never read anything from this author but loving this story. If you need a quick read this book is for you but to finish out you need all the books. So will see what happens next. Till next time. Woof woof. Lol
I don't know what the moon had to do with in this story or where they got the title .But it was an interesting story for the first part. She was sick and I think he was supposed to change her to make her well. But this was only the first part.
The Hunter's Moon by Shawntelle Madison is an enjoyable read. This is a short read, great for those with limited time for reading. This book has drama, action, good characters, humor and sizzle. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger, but the story does continue in another book.
A hunter and a werewolf are definitely an unlikely pair but there is no denying the spark between them. Although too short, this was a good read and I'm looking forward to continuing the story to see how things turn out.
Kaden will do anything to protect his pack, including saving a dying werewolf hunter. But Cynthia would rather take him down than become his mate. until......
