Ivy didn’t plan to fall for her art professor. But after one night in the studio, boundaries blurred, and desire took over. Will Novak was off-limits, yet some lines aren’t meant to stay uncrossed. In a world of secrecy, art, and temptation, wet paint isn’t the only thing that leaves a mark.

Seven Rue is an international bestselling author. Born and raised in a small town by the Lake of Constance in Switzerland, she loves writing books that not only make hearts melt but also push limits. When she's not writing, you can find her on long walks with her pup, Bowie, or kicking around a ball on the soccer field.
reminder to everyone: this is less than 100 pages. it's short, very quick read, not too much character development or time for fluff! I loved it, it's a forbidden art professor x student romance.
I think it's a sweeter taboo romance which is different than the usual taboo romances but still 🔥🔥
Perdonen, me dio diabetes, esto no es lo mio😞 Pero si te gustan los libros super dulces, es para vos!!! ... Sorry, this gave me diabetes, not my thing😞 But if u like super sweet books, this one is for u!!!
I really do love Seven so much but this one just fell flat for me. Ivy was just very boring and I needed more steam. I love the student/professor trope but between Ivy boring me to tears and the lack of spice. I just could not get into this one.
Seven Rue’s latest novella is a slight turn that the type of books she’s normally known for. In this short and sweet novella, we have Will & Ivy. Ivy is in a painting class taught by Will. Will was contacted by the school Ivy attends because he is famous for his pantings and Ivy loves his work.
But on the night of her 21st birthday, while she’s out drinking with her friends.. she can’t stop thinking about one person.. Will. She leaves the bar with the intention of going home.. but decides to head to the art studio where she knows she’ll find him.
It’s crazy right?! She can’t possibly be interested in her professor. I mean he’s not much older than her, only 34, and he’s seriously good-looking. But what innocent Ivy doesn’t expect is for Will to feel the same way about her that she does him. And what happens next is a steamy student-teacher romance.
Ok.. I liked it, yes.. but I didn’t expect it to be so .. clean. Any other book I’ve read by this author has been dark and dirty but this was almost too sweet. It was very short as well so I struggled to feel the chemistry between Ivy & Will. I liked how the author threw a little troublemaker in the story.. but the ending was just kind of bleh and it had no epilogue. It was a quick read, I finished it.. but only rating it 2.5 stars.
What I liked: 💖 It didn't follow the traditional Aria/Ezra plot line of 'boy and girl meet somewhere and have a one night stand only to find out he's her teacher when she goes to class the next day' which I feel like most teacher/student romances do.
What I didn’t: ✋ I just didn't feel the chemistry between them at all. I get it's a novella but there wasn't even any sexual tension. I mostly felt bored.
2.00 Stars. (WW/WM). Kindle Edition $4.99/ 89 page novella ebook. SETTING: Modern times somewhere in America. TROPE: Teacher/ Student romance. Thirteen year age gap. MAIN CHARACTERS: 1. IVY, female lead, is a 21-year-old college art major who has a crush on her art professor. 2. WILL NOVAK, lead male, is a 34-year-old wealthy artist and independently contracted college art professor who enters into a sexual and romantic relationship with a student. 3. ELEYNA is another art student at this college who has a crush of the professor.
On Ivy's twenty first birthday, she learns that Will be working on a painting through the night so; she leaves her friend group and birthday celebration to be paint with Will. Next, he meets Ivy and her friends at a Karaoke bar for drinks. Ivy and Will get physical and Elena reports them to the Dean. The story ends abruptly with a happy for now implication from this couple with no romantic chemistry.

Wet Paint was a great short read that delivered exactly what it promised. The tension was strong, the pacing was tight, and the story didn’t overstay its welcome. I really appreciated how quickly it pulled me in and kept things engaging from start to finish, perfect for when you want something immersive without committing to a long novel. This kind of shorter, well-written forbidden romance is honestly underrated, and I’d love to see more books like this. If you’re looking for a quick, satisfying read with plenty of chemistry and a compelling dynamic, this one is definitely worth picking up.
Cute little novella. I really like this author, and yes, even the super taboo content too 🤌🏼 What I don't love, it the overuse, across all of this authors stories, is the use of all forms of the word "purse" in regard to lips. The eye roll I can't contain when I come across it takes me out of the story. It's too much. Find a different word, please 🙏🏼
I usually love seven rue’s work but this book honestly disappointed me It seemed rushed and didn’t really have a good story line The spicy scenes were plain and to be honest boring This is the first book of hers that I’ve not liked
Such a sweet love story -- forbidden student - teacher relationship. Both talented artists. I was a little surprised this wasn't as filthy as most of Rue's books, but it truly was a beautiful love story.
Was it my favourite sevenrue book ? Probably not.. it was soft and less kinky than most her books are. But it was a good time and I didn't hate these characters or the insta lust trope, which isn't usually for me. It didn't feel like a sevenrue book for the most part, but it wasn't bad.
Will & Ivy! Short, Sweet & a little Spicy. This was a great read; even though it wasn’t my favorite book it was still good. Wills voice is soothing, Ivy is a smart girl.
Trigger Warnings: Age-Gap. Teacher/Student. Explicit Sex Scenes. Virgin FMC.
