Katie Flynn was born in Norwich and attended Norwich High School, where she was extremely happy and extremely undistinguished. Published at the tender age of eight, in Enid Blyton's Sunny Stories, she joined a Writers’ Circle as an adult, publishing short stories, articles, etc; only turning to novels in 1971 because the postal strike cut off her main source of income! At first she wrote under several different names – Judith Saxton, Judy Turner, Lydia Balmain, Judith Arden – but her Katie Flynn books were a delight to write and proved far more popular than she had dreamed. She has now published nearly ninety novels, twenty-seven of which are Flynns. Her most recent titles are: Lost Days of Summer and Christmas Wishes.
I really enjoyed reading The Mersea Queen, telling the story about Nell and Polly and the families, as well as the dock life. This book was so well written that I was there with ever turn of the page. There were a few twists and turns. Within the story which is always good. Plus other people coming into the store like Tom. Which Brough an added dimension to the story.
What a great romance once started I couldn't put it down love Katie Flynn 's books read most of them and everyone seems better than the last would give this book more than five stars if I could and I highly recommend that you read this delightful story
I love Katie Flynn books and I’ve read quite a few. This one did not disappoint right from Paige one I was hooked in by the time I’ve read 10 pages. I couldn’t put it down. I was so drawn in to Nell, Polly and all the families. Looking forward to the next one.
Just finished this book from my local library, really believable characters, you feel as if you know them. Cant wait to read the follow up The Winter Fair!!
I enjoyed this book but wish it went on for a little longer to see what happened to the Shepneys, Martha, Nell and Alfie because the next you learn more about Polly and her dad.
