Roomies? Maybe. Romance? Never. That’s what she said.

My Review:
Holy smokes – this book was so hot it singed my hair. Rie Warren is definitely in the running for queen of erotic steam, oh my! I was gasping and mopping my brow during this lascivious yet heart-squeezing and angsty tale. I was intrigued by the wounded and endearing characters and engaged by the unexpected sweetness in the storyline. I enjoyed this quick, evocative, and unexpectedly emotive story all the way through. Jase was known as the rich playboy prince of the campus. The girls swooned over him and the guys wanted to be him, yet no one actually knew him beyond his reputation, as oddly he didn’t date and had no real friends. What he did have was a shameful secret as to how he paid the bills since his wealthy father demanded he make it on his own. No one dared to look beneath his gruff and aloof exterior but had they bothered they would have found a lonely, intelligent, and softhearted marshmallow. His new roommate, Avery, had a heartbreaking secret and issues of her own but she had a spark that triggered his protective instincts.
I didn't expect much from this novella. I've read it on recommendation, and I thought it was just another meh short read. In the end,it was very good.
Meet Jase. Biker bad boy from loaded family cut off from family oil millions. So he needed to find another income and becomes call boy! Yup,you read it right! He's a man whore in every meaning of the word. But he's so sweet and protective that you have to love him.
Meet Avery. Average college girl slash nerd. But she has curves and she's covering them with long sweaters. Why...you're gonna read the book. She has her monsters in her closet, and our hero Jase is knight in shiny armor and helps her beat them...or him...
Rie Warren has totally hooked me for life !! I really need to tap into some more of her books because they seem to get better each time I read her !!
Yes there was some heavy issues in the story , Avery has definitely suffered a great deal but all that aside I loved this story. I was so happy to see it as a whole after reading about it in the series !! Jase Everly is totally my new BOOK BOYFRIEND. I don't care what he does or did for a living I love him and he is just freakin awesome !! His sweet side , his caring side , his typical male issues and of course his dominating sexy side !! He is like all things great wrapped into one delicious guy. Avery is a firecracker and not at all the frumpy weird girl she may have appeared to be !! She is hot , super funny and all around great despite what she has gone through.
Avery has just suffered a horrific ordeal , we can probably guess what it is despite her lack of information. She is desperate to get out of the dorms and heads to the 1st place looking for a roommate. Of course non other than the college hottie playboy Jase Everly opens the door !! She is slightly skittish and dressing in frumpy clothes which leads Jase to believe Avery has issues or is hiding something. He is surprisingly sweet and makes her feel safe so what the heck let's move right in !! There is a spark between the 2 but because of his work Jase doesn't do the girlfriend thing and he tries to be friendly to Avery but she has no problem pushing his buttons as well. You know that it will happen and you that when it does it will be PHENOMENAL !! !! Of course before we get there we have to learn a little about them both , their pasts and the things they may or may not be hiding. I was pleasantly surprised by Avery once she found out what she did , I was happy she actually listened to Jase. I hate runners and Avery was definitely not running from Jase !! I also loved their silly banter , they were cute and funny. It was just a great easy read , in a matter of hours I was sad to be done. Honestly I would love more of them , I mean really there is so much more we can read !!
Big spoiler ahead and I'm about to go all Capital letters all over this review.
What nobody told you is that the hero is working as an escort, a man whore, fucking two women each night to pay for his college tuition and his daily life expenses. Yep, he went to "work" each night leaving her at home without knowing what he's about to do. EVEN after their love declarations. EVEN after they fell all over themselves with love (a little on the side of cheesy I'd say).
Still, I understood it, trying not to be so judjmental.
BUTTTT, When the heroine asked the hero, three minutes after discovering his big secret through one of his fuck cliants: "will you make love to me tonight, Jase?”..
WHA?!?!
I puked in my mouth. Stupid doormat. This heroine without any backbone whatsoeveh is the reason I started drinking. WOMAN! have a little self respact and demand a little more than three minutes groveling. Sarting now.
Have you read Stone: At Your Service? It's the first book in the Carolina Bad Boys series. It really isn't necessary (however I HIGHLY recommend you do) for you to read the series for this book to make sense. If you haven't let me give you just a tad bit of background. Leelee Songchild is a character in Stone who happens to be a romance writer. Ride is her debut title. So in reality the author is actually LeeLee and not Ms Warren! LOL!!!
Now that I got that tidbit of fun out of they way, let me get to the real review. Ride was AWESOME! Deeply emotional, sometimes humorous, sexy, too. Ride was very aptly named because it certainly was quite a ride! Jase is just this cuddly bear, a HOT sexy one but still a cuddly bear. College life has not been kind to Avery and she is just looking for a safe place to be when she finds herself on bad boy Jace's doorstep. He's exactly what Avery needs, only she just doesn't know it yet. Jase and Avery are both harboring deep secrets and as they get revealed, WHOA NELLY! I'll get back to that in a sec. The sex is hot between them but my favorite parts was the banter. As I have come to expect from author Rie Warren, it was quick, snap, alternating between laughter and tears. I loved the whole flow of the story and was so drawn in I gulped it down in one day.
Now back to those secrets. I'm not sharing Jace's because frankly it's something you as a reader should discover on your own. I will say this, it wasn't exactly what I expected from a bad boy rich guy. As for Avery's, yes I will share but only because it is quite painful and may be upsetting for some readers. Avery was raped. There are not (thankfully) an over amount of details of the mechanics but there is enough that you know what happens. I will say this, the author took a very painfully subject and handled in a very respectable matter. Normally, I would rate this book 3 - Flames but due to the rape subject matter, I'm bumping it up to 4 - Flames.
Author Rie Warren is my latest author addiction and frankly if she writes anything I don't like I'd be shocked. Happily I loved Ride. BTW...there's another author in the Carolina Bad Boys series (Nicky Love) and we get tidbits of his books as well. Poke-poke Ms. Warren...I wouldn't mind his books coming to the light of day as well. Anyhow, asking me if I would recommend reading Ride, and I would answer "Does a chicken have feathers?" so whip out whatever eReader you got and download Ride. Do it...NOW!
I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
My Review: I read Stone and have to admit that I didn't expect to enjoy this novella as much as I did. I absolutely fell in love with Avery and Jase and their journey to find their HEA.
Jase is the terminal bad boy...rich, tattooed, unattainable...the big man on campus. But for all of that, he's lonely so he advertises for a roommate. Avery answers that ad after an incident at the dorms means she can't stay there anymore for her mental well-being. Jase sees in Avery innocence and purity that he craves. He also senses that she needs a safe place to feel sheltered.
Their relationship starts out as a friendship, although the chemistry is always sizzling between them. Jase knows Avery deserves better than him so he tries to resist the allure of her...even though he is constantly propositioning her. He never thinks she'll actually take him up on it.
This story isn't a new one in the romance world, but that didn't affect my enjoyment of it. I loved almost every moment of reading this story. Rie writes gritty males in such a fabulous, heart-stopping manner. I love her guys...and would love to meet any of them in a dark, seductive alley. *ahem*...but I digress. Jase is sexy and such a bad-boy while at the same time he's loving and caring and handles Avery with such love. I challenge anyone to read this story and not fall in love with him. It's another great book from Rie Warren. At this point, I know when I pick up her books, I am going to be swept away in the story and not want to come up for air until "the end"...and I'm okay with that.
Note: there were several issues that happened with the characters in this book that simply were resolved too easily in my opinion in the story. I understood why the author chose to write the book that way...for the sake of sexiness and brevity. It nonetheless did cause me to pause my reading several times and think. As a result that dropped my rating from a 5 star to a 4 star.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
After reading bits of Avery & Jase's story in Stone At Your Service, I was delighted to see that Rie Warren had released their novella as a standalone novel. So this was the story that Josh Stone read when he was pursuing the new author on the block, Leelee Songchild.! Well, I'm not surprised Josh was hooked. Great story with lovely characters that were so easy to like. Lots of passion and some very HOT scenes. Would have liked an epilogue that looked a bit further into the future but the epilogue it has is still lovely. This was a much appreciated little gem of a book.
I loved this novella!! I fell in love with Avery and Jase from the start! I just wish it had been longer because I didn't want it to end!! Definitely a great read!!
We heard part of this story in Stone, book one of the series. This was the story LeeLee had written. Ave was a strong woman hiding behind loose clothing to avoid attracting college guys. She had one bad experience and needed no more. After being raped, she needed to find somewhere to live safer than the dorm where it had happened. Ending up at the apartment of hottest guy on campus was not part of her plan. Yet, for some reason, she felt safe. He looked past the baggy clothes, the shy demeanor and pulled the feisty chick out. Their relationship was rocky but they grew closer. He had his own secret. She wasn't telling him why she hid her true self and he couldn't tell her how he'd overcome his father's sudden withdraw of his trust fund finances. The inner person of each character was hidden from the world. Little by little they shared with each other and grew closer. Still, when he found out about her attack, he knew her secret. Yet, he couldn't tell her his. If she learned it would ruin them. Would she find out and if so was he right?
I enjoyed the story. I had a little trouble believing her recovery and responses to Jase. I also had some other issues but those would be spoilers so I'll leave it at this. A good story. I am going to read the rest of the series. Reviewed for Words Turn Me on.
Ride: In Between the Covers by Rie Warren is a standalone novella in the Carolina Bad Boys Series. Ride is book 2,5 in the series. This is Jase and Avery´s story. Both are college students. He´s a senior, she´s a sophomore. After she was horrible violated she needs a new room , asap. Jase Everly, campus bad boy and playboy prince has a room vacant. These two so different people live together, heal each other. But Jase has a past and skeletons in the closet, that threaten to destroy their relationship. This novella is written by Leelee Songchild, the new adult author and bride of Josh Stone. I think this is a genius POV. I like the book, he writing and the characters. I give 4,5 stars. Thank you, Rie Warren.
An entertaining fast read. Jase is the families tattooed bad boy, who's been cut off from their fortune and making his own way. Avery is a college girl who wants out of the dorm into her own place, an horrific ordeal has made her move desperate and she wants it done as quickly as possible. Avery goes to Jase, their relationship is not comfortable as they are not friends, but Jase agrees she can move in with him.
The storyline has very emotional times as deep discussions of attempted rape are revealed and the affect it has had on the victims life. And I liked how the relationship changed and grew between Jace and Avery as the story progressed. A well written book I would definitely recommend!
I am not usually a fan of young adult but I loved this book and these two characters. I was already intrigued reading the excerpt we were gifted in Stone: At Your Service and let me just say when LeeLee said this book was full of sex she wasn't lying.
This story will break your heart and pieces is back together again. Avery Greene is struggling with keeping it all together after one horrible night. Jase Everly seems so much older and is complete sexy Alpha. I loved how their relationship evolved from a true friendship to oh so much more. Great Chemistry and I love how when everything was out in the open how they both handled it and moved forward!
This story was beautifully written and covered a very serious topic (rape) and the aftermath perfectly.
I have given this story only 3 stars because what started out as a great read & easy to get into turned a different way, almost a whiny way about 65% into the book. A story that starts out playing in the readers emotions & pulls you into the story & the lives of the characters. That part was fantastic. It changes when the "big confession" takes place & from there it went down hill for me. I have enjoyed every piece of literature from this author & recommend her to all my smut loving friends, but this section of the story? I just didn't agree with how the scene was played out. I am not going to say what it is, I don't believe in spoiling things.
Beautiful book. Real life heroes do exist. Avery ended up living with Jase when she answered a roommate add. She never thought it would be him. After her crisis, she didn’t ever think she could trust a guy again. Jase was the perfect roomie. They bantered back and forth until one give in. That was all it took. He was her protector and her love. They made it through so very tough times but they did make it. Excellent writing. They storyline was fabulous. A great HEA. I love happy endings.

Avery & Jase were delightful, as friends, unrequited lovers, & finally a committed couple. I devoured the book, only stopping to sleep because I absolutely had to be up early the next morning; but my tablet came along too, so that I could finish Ride:In Between the Covers while I waited. There are issues for both Avery & Jase in the story but are dealt by both characters in a caring & protective manner on one hand & by gentle acceptance & understanding on the other. Definitely a must read, even without having read the earlier 2 books.
This story really pulled me in! When reading Stone, At Your Service (the first book in the Carolina Bad Boys series) the readers got little snippets of this novella within that story. I thought I knew everything that there was to know about the story and didn’t think I would really enjoy reading the full novella. But boy was I wrong!! The story definitely drew me in and ensnared me! With knowing the “back story” of this novella before I read it, in my opinion it made it that much more satisfying. This novella is a standalone and has nothing to do with the Carolina Bad Boys series.
Jase is a typical college playboy wrapped up in a bad boy personal...or is he? He’s got a secret and he isn’t about to let anyone get close enough to figure it out. Then in walks Avery. She knocks him on his ass and steals his heart way before he ever admits it to himself. Avery on the other hand wants to despise him on sight (not that that really happens!). She has sworn off the male species and with good reason. She’s got a secret too and she’ll be damned if she tells anyone again, only to be laughed at.
This story really makes you ache for Avery. Within the first couple of pages you get the gist of what happened and automatically want to go to bat for her. The story fluctuates between light and teasing to only to slap you in the face with what each of the character is going through and how it’s tearing them up inside.
Despite the heavy subjects the sexual tension and teasing is awesomesauce!! I loved the flirting that they did, and the antagonizing remarks they gave one another. Thank heaven for unlocked bathroom doors ;) That scene was extra hot!!!
Unfortunately it did hit on one of my hard limits for romances...It wasn’t maliciously done but nevertheless is still present within the story. With that being said I still enjoyed the novella. Jase, besides doing what he did, was still overall was very sweet. He was super considerate, like doing things with Avery in mind. Whether to make her life easier or just to do things for her to make her smile.
Having said that, there were a couple things I wish were different. In the beginning the way they interacted with one another after only knowing each other approximately a day, was a little odd. They had such a familiarity, it seemed like they had known each other for months if not years. The other thing I wished it had was just more! I wish the story was continued and we got to see them meeting each other’s parents and possibly a wedding!
I realize that this was just a novella but it did a fantastic job. To capture all the elements of a full length novel and condense it into just a few short chapters is really hard but it was done really well here! I’m so excited to read more from this author, keep the Carolina Bad Boys series coming!!
I LOVED IT!!!! If you read and enjoyed Stone: At Your Service, then you’ll be pleased to know that Ride: In Between the Covers is the new adult novel featured as Leelee Songchild’s book. When that fact finally clicked for me, I couldn’t wait to read it. Even though Ride didn’t feature the cast of characters I’ve come to know and love from Stone and Nicky’s lives, it was a treat to read because Jase and Avery would fit right in with that crew.
On paper, Jase and Avery do not fit. He’s a trust-fund baby who’s also the tattooed bad boy. She’s a scholarship student who is all about studying and keeping her head down. The only thing they have in common is that neither is looking for love. And an address because Avery needs a place to live that is not the dorms and Jase needs a roommate. Despite their initial animosity towards one another, they become friends. Their banter, baiting, and flirting was always entertaining for me and frequently had me grinning like a loon. As their relationship evolves, the sexual tension is ramped up quite a bit. But because of his secret (and no, I won’t tell you what it is), Jase refuses to cross that final line with Avery. While it’s sweet that he wants to protect her from the worst parts of himself, I could empathize with Avery’s sexual frustration because she wasn’t the only one seduced by Jase’s dirty mouth. Jase’s continued refusal to have sex with her just causes Avery’s self-doubt to worsen as she fears that it’s because she told him about her rape. When things finally align and they find themselves in bed together, well Jase learns that you really do have to watch out for the quiet ones.
Despite Ride being a novella, Ms. Warren avoided the insta-love trap and allowed Jase and Avery to fall in love gradually. She does this in part by clearly indicating breaks in time (e.g., two weeks later, a month later, etc.) and by writing the book from both Jase and Avery’s points of view. By being privy to their thoughts, I could see when their feelings for one another began to change. That they began the story with a seeming hate-on for one another doesn’t hurt either. While I expect that some will complain that Avery forgave Jase too quickly when she found out about his big secret, I felt it was consistent with the genre, the novella format, and the couple. Jase and Avery talk to one another instead of at one another, and they actually listen to each other so Avery didn’t just hear Jase’s explanation, she felt his pain and his truth. This just made the relationship that much more believable for me and the book that much more enjoyable. Yet another book in the Carolina Bad Boys series has made it to my reread list. Makes me want to jump right into Steele: Into Your Heart, but alas, I cannot. At least anticipation is a good thing.

This is the next installment in the Carolina Bad Boys series by best-selling author Rie Warren. It is the full version of the novella featured in Ms. Warren’s first book in this series. It features a bad boy, a good girl and hot campus life! This is Jase and Avery’s story and you will not want to miss one word of this sexy romance!
When you are considered one of the top dogs on campus, life is yours for the asking. Or is it? Jase has it all, motorcycle, good looks, tattoos that make the girls drool and don’t give a damn attitude. He lives by his rules and will pay the price necessary to live the way he wants to. So what if his money has been cut off from his wealthy family. He will make it on his own. When he meets a girl that needs a place to live, he freely offers her a room at his place. The fun begins and the struggle to keep his hands off his new roommate is just beginning.
Avery Green has a problem. She cannot stay in the dorm anymore not after she was betrayed by someone she had trusted. Everything in her changed from that moment. She had always been a good girl, good student on a fast track to finish college. Now she hides herself in oversized clothes and is afraid that he will find her again. When bad boy Jase Everly offers her a way to get off campus, she takes it. He is a bad boy and maybe he can keep her safe.
Friction, sexual tension and hate at first sight, seems to be the norm for these two. How long will they be able to deny the pull that is burning between them? Will the good girl tame the bad boy? Or will the bad boy turn the good girl, bad?
Would I recommend this book: Yes! Take one really sexy, motorcycle riding bad boy and mix in a good girl that really is a bad girl at heart then stir with sizzling sex and you have a winner! This book will warm the bad girl in all of us!
Would I recommend this author: Yes! Ms. Warren writes funny, sexy romances that will appeal to everyone that enjoys a good read. Her characters are unique and full of life. Each book Ms. Warren writes is a trip that you will not want to miss!
Rie Warren has done it to me again! Except this is a novella so I finished it faster then the first 2 books in the series. Just like the other books in the series there is 1 fine sexy man with a motorcycle in it and his princess.
Avery needs to get out of her dorm room. As like in yesterday! She finds an article for a room to rent and gets on her bicycle and goes. She was not prepared for who was going to open the door once she got there.
Jase Everly opens his door to a pretty girl. Not only was she pretty but is was obvious to anybody looking at her that she was scared. Terrified actually. She wearing baggy clothes and is skittish. You def can't touch her. Jase instantly wants to save her.
Avery doesn't know anything about Jase except what she's heard about him. Rich, he doesn't do girlfriends but that doesn't mean he doesn't get girls. When she moves in she learns a few things about him. He is very quick to help her. He moves her out of the dorm so she don't have to go back there. Jase cooks her meals and no matter how many times she tries to pay him rent. He refuses to take it.
Jase & Avery quickly get into a nice routine. Jase made sure to do everything he could to make Avery feel safe. They also had their fare shares of giving it to each other good. I mean who wouldn't love eating breakfast every morning with a 1/2 naked Jase sitting across from her? Avery herself had Jase seeing red on a constant basis.
Both Jase and Avery are hiding secrets. And, let me tell you there both pretty big secrets! Even through all the secrets that they were keeping their attraction was something that couldn't be kept secret. They both tried to fight it. Avery because she wasn't physically or emotionally ready. Or so she thinks. And, Jase doesn't think he's good enough for her. Then, they just couldn't hold back anymore. And, man oh man! These 2 are hot.
These 2 didn't start off as friends. Then Jase became a protector for Avery. They casually start a friendship that turns into so much more. I believe they saved each other. I really loved this book. Rie handled all the hard topics perfect. She left nothing undone. Now, if she had Jase work at Stone's garage in the next book. Man, I'd be over the moon happy!! Hey, a girl can dream can't she.
*I received an ARC of this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.*
I loved the snippets of this story in Stone: At Your Service and I was so glad when Rie decided to turn it into a full length book. I got a little nervous when at the beginning it stated that there had been some minor changes, but it was for nothing. All my favorite parts where in there and many, many more to boot.
Jase has an image that follows him. He’s nowhere near the person everyone thinks he is, but he’d be stupid to try and change his well-known reputation.
Avery is sweet and adorable and she ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time…a fate that changed her outlook on life and ended her up on the doorstep of Jase Everly. She didn’t want to be around another sexy playboy type, but he doesn’t take no for an answer. She needs a place to stay and he suddenly wants her there more than anything ever before.
They are each hiding a secret that will ultimately change the other’s perspective of them, but sometimes there’s a chemistry just too explosive to ignore.
Ride: In Between the Covers is filled with a playful humor that overrides any of their negative pasts. I enjoyed reading it and wished there had been more. Turning a page and seeing Epilouge when you’re just getting involved kind of sucked, but it’s still a great read.
This is part of the Carolina Bad Boys series, but is a complete standalone. If you read the first book, you’ll definitely want to read this one. And if you haven’t read it’s predecessors then don’t worry because the characters in here are completely separate from the first two books.
My Favorite Moment: Jase – Avery – Bathtub…OMG! I wasn’t sure if I should be turned on or laugh.
My Favorite Laughable Moment: Jase is such a sweetheart, he takes such great care of Avery’s things…even when packing her stuff for her. Her payback to help settle the tension afterwards…priceless!
“So, I bet you’re wondering what I’m wearing under these?”
Oh, I've waited for this! And it did not disappoint - what did I expect? It's Rie after all. If you are familiar with the Carolina Bad Boys series, then you might remember a few short snippets from Ride. You know, as in Leelee's book? Don't know what I'm talking about? Here's the short story: In Stone, At Your Service, a guy named Josh Stone meets a fiery redhead debut author called Leelee Songchild. She hands him her book, he reads it, we read with him. This is it.
Ride is a New Adult novel set at Uni in Texas. It follows a girl named Avery, who after a very traumatic experience is almost literally driven off the dorms and forced to find an off-campus accomodation. What she did not expect was to land on her bike on the front steps of Jase Everly, who is by all accounts a bad boy and a player, and he is not denying it. The funny thing is, he also happens to be a perfect roommate, and even though they had set boundaries the first time she set foot into the house, their attraction takes them in a very different direction.
And I've spilled most of the plot already, so let's go on to the OTHER details.
This is quite basically short, sweet, spicy and slightly angsty, and all in good measure. It does not deal a whole lot of background information, but it isn't quite relevant anyway, and this is a short. What really matters here is that Rie aced another genre (dystopian m/m, romance, smut romance... what can't she do) and with two different POVs to boot.
Now, my new question is: will Ride It Hard also be hitting Kindles or is it just a title???
*This book was provided by the author/publisher to Nerd Girl for an open and honest review.
Oh My, My, My!!! Rie Warren can write suspenseful sizzlers all right! I have had her books in the belly of my kindle for a while now and so I picked the novella to read first since all of them are stand alone. I dare say shame on me for waiting so long.
Chase Everly is a bad girl's best friend and a good girl's dream!! Everyone wants him but no one can get him!! Motorcycle and Tats!! Who cares about rules and that kinda crap!!
Enter Avery Greene, good girl on the dean's list with a perfect track record! Something bad happens that needs immediate attention and she leaves without her things and straight into the open arms... well really roomie rental situation of Chase Everly!!
The situation gets sticky!! Their feelings grow and life gets um steamy!!! If you like romance, suspense and tricky icky situations this is the book for you!!!
Rie Warren I give you stars and I tip my Nerd Girl hat to you!!
I read Stone months ago, and still can’t get that book out of my mind. Jase and Avery made a cameo in that one and I was ecstatic when I figured out Ride was their story. Jase…Jase, Jase, Jase, that big-hearted, dirty-talkin’, sexy-as-hell trouble on a Harley, sweet to the core, but tough as steel on the outside Jase had my heart pounding with how this book would all turn out.
Avery has been through something big, and emotionally devastating, and she finds sanctuary with campus’ biggest bad boy, Jase. Even before he knows what she’s going through, he has a natural instinct to protect and heal her. But he has big secrets, and those secrets could destroy them both. It was impossible not to feel for their situation.
This story has the same panty dropping sex appeal that Warren is known for writing/mastering, but don’t get it twisted. Ride isn’t just about hot sex (though there is plenty). It’s a heart-string-tugging love story, through and through.
Every time I read a book written by Rie Warren, I think how can it get better than this? Rie has another huge hit in "Ride." The characters are developed to the nth degree, the romance is so sweet, the sex is HOTTER than hot, the storyline is wonderful! And Rie is definitely not afraid to tackle difficult subjects - in this case, rape. (Also, Jase is busy doing something that is revealed late in the book, and I don't want to spoil it.) The first two Carolina Bad Boys books were fantastic, and you should without a doubt read them. This third book stands alone, so you can start here with Jase and Avery and their hot college motorcycle romance. If I could give more than five stars for this book, I would. (I received this book in exchange for an honest review.)
3.5 stars I love this series, but this book was just ok. The characters were interesting, but I kept waiting for more. The story was interesting, but again, it was missing something. Everything wrapped up too easily and nicely. There was room for more drama or conflict but it just didn't happen. It had a lot of potential but it just didn't quite reach the level of writing I felt the rest of the series does. It gets an additional 1/2 star because it is HOT, saving it from being just okay. I was also confused because it didn't feel like it tied in with the rest of the series well. I struggle with series were some of the books are explicitly linked by the characters and others in the same series are not.
If you're a fan of Rie Warren's Carolina Bad Boys series you are going to LOVE this stand alone novella so you can read it before any of the rest of the series... Although why wouldn't YOU really want to read all of CBB???
Rie introduces us to Jase, tatted bad boy, cut off from the families billions with a new way of making money.... And Avery trying to forget the past by burying herself into her studies, hiding her true self.
Rie has had me squirming for good & bad reasons, the sex is hot! rape is really a taboo subject but Rie handles it with finise & tackles through the hard parts. Definitely an amazing read, thank you Rie I was riveted & can't wait for the next book in the series.
I loved the concept of this book. The book featured inside another book. How fun is that? Really though, it is the awesome story of Avery and Jase. You will not be able to get enough. I loved it better than book one in which it was part of the storyline. This was a book written by the female lead in book one who is an author. Rie Warren, that is just brilliant. However, I'm going to ask you very nicely here......please, please give us more of Ave and Jase. A book two, I don't care how you do it because I know you can but I just DID NOT want this story to be over.
So I love the Carolina Bad Boys book but not quite sure where the Carolina part comes into this book. I admit that yes Jase is definitely a bad boy with a good heart but the book is about Texans from what I can tell.
Anyways, I loved the book in general because the characters are beyond amazing. The story is good. I kind of with you learned what Jase did for a living or what made Avery run from the dorms just a little bit sooner. But not knowing also kept me interested in the book. It was funny, interesting and intriguing.
Once again I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
I enjoyed this book. I did have a bit of a problem, however with the way Avery acted. Other than that, I did enjoy this book. I loved Jase. He was a major sweetie and sexy as all get out. I would recommend. <3
