I am not that into fantasy books but can appreciate a good vampire (or shapeshifter) story. And so I read the story of Royce Bellamy, a 1000 years old vampire-cop for the NYPD. Although it seems Royce is quite the evolved and superior vampire since he is able to be in the sun (*rolling eyes*). He has a lover in ADA Beth Ann who is begging him to turn him so she can be with him for eternity.
The book is mostly about Royce reminiscing his past; how he became a vampire and how he met and turned his three "children", Lucinda (a sorceress who was a courtesan to Louis VII), Magenta (A witch/seer he seduced) & Dahlia (a fallen angel). These memories are mostly of hot and steamy sex with these women ending in him turning them and giving them immortality.
Although this is not a genre that is high on my list I am intrigued enough to read the other three books in the Desires of Blood serie.

This is a super quick vampire read, I'm thinking it took a long time going through the history of Royce to get to current times. It was just an ok read for me.

Beth Ann an ADA. Totally in love with Royce, she wanted Royce to turn her so they can be together for eternity. But he was reluctant to do so, and she couldn’t understand why... And for this reason, I will tell you why. Meet his children / prodigies.
Lucinda. A courtesan to Louis VII. A woman of impeccable beauty and a sorceress. The attraction was instantaneous. He wanted her in his bed, she wanted immortality. Thinking with his dick, he turned her!
Magenta. A witch/seer he seduced her with his silver tongue and his insatiable sexual appetite. The one thing she wanted from him is immortality. He granted her wish.
Dahlia. An angel fallen from grace. Taken away from all that she knew because she made the fatal mistake of falling in love with the wrong person. Royce bedded her. Then guess what? He turned her, too!
Beth Ann is about to get the surprise of her life when a knock at the door heralds the arrival of one of his children. Children she knew nothing about. This is where the story starts to get really interesting, and I'm not going to give anything away. You will need to read this book to find out what comes next.
I'm not a fan of the paranormal and vampire books etc. The only time I thought a man with fangs was sexually attractive was when I saw Gary Oldman play Dracula in Bram Stokers Dracula. Ethan Radcliffe, you have turned me. Not literally lol!
As I'd seen and read excerpts from this book, I was intrigued and my curiosity was piqued. This was a book I wanted to read. Royce Bellamy can bite me any time on the neck or down below! This first book has been a teaser for what is about to come. I’m looking forward to the next instalment of this series and can't wait to see what happens next. And I hope we get to hear more from Royce and Beth Ann along the way.

Id give it 3.5 stars...
Royce is a cop a with an edge, he is also a vampire. A Vampire that is rare in the fact that he can walk the daylight. In his earlier life, his human life he knew much sorrow losing his beloved wife and children. But on the fringes of death het met his sire and begged to become the monster he thinks Vampires are. Since Turning his three “children” he hasn't turned another human. His current love Beth Ann would love to be turned but he is determined not to. He says love is a emotion vampires can't feel and he keeps telling himself he doesn't miss it.
There seems to be quiet a bit out there from up and coming male erotic authors, I am honored to have had the chance to read this from Mr. Radcliff. The first book of what looks like to be a awesome series. Watch for the rest of the stories to come out. Vampire is a short read less than 100 pgs. I liked how the chapters were broke up in time frames also kind of a intro to his childern. For a quick read I liked the story... the just right amount of detail, mixed with some seat squirming sex. I enjoyed it and look forward to the other books in the series.

Wow this book is wonderful, incredible and amazing!!!! Gets you right into it from the start.
Royce Bellamy is a cop for the elite force NYPD, but he is also a vampire. He lost his wife and 2 kids. He is a 1000 yrs old and has 3 prodigies.
His maker Simone was a kind of wild vamp who didn't care about anything or anyone. So he took off on his own.
Lucinda was the first. She is a witch and they were drawn to each other. Like a fly to its flame. Craziness erupted.
Then came Magenta a seer. She wanted what most want out of a vampire the experience to be with and be one.
Then there is Dahlia the fallen angel that could do harm but wouldn't do to heartache and punishing herself.
Then there is Beth Ann Matthews a ADA. She is the only one since his wife he has strong feelings for but not sure. He is protective of her. He said he hasn't felt the heaviness that he feels for he when she is in tears. What will happen? Will he ever feel love again? Have to read this book.

Being a totally vamp/pnr fan, when I was offered a review copy of Ethan Radcliff's first erotic pnr book, I jumped at the chance.
The word hot comes to mind!
It's not the longest book but it packs in a lot of sex, hot sex at that. There is a story behind the sex though, and I personally think every erotic book needs a good story to balance things.
This book tells the story of the Vampire known as Royce, his a very sexual being. It is based in present time, he works as a cop - a special vampire branch, so not 'our reality' or is it?

I fell in love with Royce Bellamy right from page one. A thousand year old vampire, handsome, ripped, what else would a woman want? But his human lover, Beth Ann, wants more than what she is getting; she wants him to turn her into a vampire. He has to have a reason for doing this. Does he love her enough? Over the past thousand years, he has already turned three beautiful women into vampires; they became his children and although adults, they always seem to get into trouble and he has to bale them out. Will they ever be able to be responsible for their own actions?
Although I took to Royce immediately, Beth Ann, hmmm, not so much! Was she whiney, what she needy? I just did not feel she was “good enough” for Royce. I liked this book very much. The author’s incite into a vampire is new and different and works well in this story that binds the reader under a magic spell as the characters come to life with their individual personalities and quirky characteristics. And the sex—WOWEE! Hot is too tame of a word. Sizzling, steamy, juicy, luscious—so tantalizingly hot that your page/kindle might go up in flames. The introduction of the other characters will make you want to continue with this series, especially to learn how Royce handles the whole situation. Well done, Mr. Radcliff.

I am starting off by my review by saying I've never been a fan of vampire or paranormal books, I don't hate them, just could never get into them. This coming from Buffy The Vampire Slayer diehard fan, lol! As I had already read other books of the author and the teasers intrigued me, I thought I would give it a try.
Well needless to say Ethan has changed my mind, Vampires (Desire of Blood #1) was a great read, I enjoy how the author is able to write different genre and each book shows us a bit more about him.
We discover the past life Royce Bellamy and his children, as we explore more of his relationship with Beth Ann. Royce does not entertain the thought of turning her, even though it's something she wants, she wants to spend eternity with him. Once you meet his children you clearly understand why. Lucinda (crazy witch), Magenta (Seer) and Dahlia (fallen angel).
Royce's past is about to collide with his present, but how will Beth Ann react as this is part of his past she is unaware of. Royce has not loved anyone since he lost his wife and children, yet he has this need to protect her and feels when she is hurting.
This is a must read and I am very happy that I took the plunge and explore a new read!

This is the first book in Desires of the Blood series. Meet Royce Bellamy, a 1000 year old vampire. He's part of an elite police force in New York. And he's a Daywalker (he can get around in the day time}.He has turned only three humans into vampires (known as his children). They are Lucinda, who is a Sorceress: Magenta, who is a Witch: and Dahila, who is a Fallen Angel.
Vampire is the introduction to Royce and his children. It's very intriguing. Hot sex, mystery, and love all rolled into one captivating tale.

When I got this, I didn't know what sort of writer the author is. It wasn't until I'd finished the book that I discovered he is an erotic writer. This, of itself, is not a bad thing but I prefer my reads to be more on the story than the sex.
His writing is good but lost a star for the use of the 'c' word. Just because people use it, doesn't mean I want to read it.
If this is your sort of read then get this book.

Really enjoyed this read
I love vampires so I was very excited to get my hands on this book! It's the kind of read that just sucks you in. I started it and couldn't put it down. I love the story and the fact that we get the history of the characters. I can't wait to continue on to the next book...this is a definite one click!

Different
This story is definitely different. This story was okay. I wasn't into his 3 children so much. I wanted to hear more about Royce and Beth Ann. It also would have been more interesting if the story talked about his work on the police force. Just my opinion. Still an okay story, thank you.

1000+ years have done nothing to tame the blood thirst of Royce Bellamy, but his memory of human existence keeps his demons at bay.
Being a vampire is not something Royce wanted, or would wish on anyone, but it is his reality. After a tragic turn of events Royce is turned by another. He is given life immortal and struggles throughout his years with his own desires and conscience. He needs the blood of others to subsist, but does he dare bring others into this world with him?
Beth Ann only knows one thing, she loves Royce. She sees herself with him for eternity, but will he give her the gift of everlasting life to make that happen? Can she convince him that turning her will make his world a happier place?
I’m not a big fan of paranormal books, so I’ll admit this book was a hard read for me. The backstory presented by Ethan Radcliff tells of the main characters struggles and history in depth but at times, for me, it was overstated. Once I was past the how’s and when’s of it all, the story began to take shape and I was able to get into it more. I’m curious to see the evolution of this series. Where will Ethan take the characters and how will the love of Royce and Beth Ann progress in the next installment?
I’m reluctant to rate this book as it was not a favorite read, but I understand it is what I must do. I will give it a 3 O rating with the knowledge that the series has only just begun and I’m hopeful that with maturation the story will become more engaging. (This is only my opinion. If you like Vampire stories, read it and decide for yourself.)

This book is the story of Royce Bellamy, a vampire who is over 1000 years old. Royce is sexy, funny, a daywalker (meaning he can walk in the sunlight) and craves sex. He is an elite member of the New York Police Dept. as well. The story takes you back to when Royce was turned and brings you along his journey. Royce has seen and felt it all, including the pain and sorry of losing his wife and children. During his time he has turned only three humans into vampires (known as his children) they are Lucinda who is a Sorceress, Magenta who is a Witch, and Dahila who is a Fallen Angel. Royce enjoys a strange relationship with these three as they call him father as he is there maker however he is also their lover. The 4 of them have a very erotic tale to tell and share a very special connection. But as all children do, they all eventually head out on their own. Royce meets his current Human lover Beth Ann who works as an ADA and is in Love with Royce. Beth wants Royce to change her so they can spend eternity with each other. Royce cares a great deal for Beth Ann and wants no other but he doesn't believe that a vampire can feel love so he refuses to turn her because he doesn't want Beth not to know and feel Love. But Crap hit's the fan when Beth Ann finds out about his children and their wild lifestyle when Lucinda show up one day needing Royces help. One more crazy bump in the life of Royce Bellamy. The story that follows is a funny, erotic yet mysterious tale.
Trust me you don't want to miss this one. It’s not like any paranormal book you have or ever will read. 2 Thumbs up for a start of what looks to be great series.

This book is just the beginning in Mr. Radcliff's paranormal series Desires of Blood. This opens with a seasoned vampire named, Royce Bellamy. He has been around for one thousand years and a lot has changed since he was first reborn.
Even though it starts off in present day the author takes us back through the years in the eyes of Royce to before his new beginning. The devastating loss of his family, how he became the monster and man he is today, and to the rebirth of his three children, lovers and companions. Each made at different eras of time and each with their own special qualities about them.
He is now a cop helping humans track down and destroy creatures that refuse to become part of civilization and instead still prey on humans. His companion at the time is human and has begged him to change her repeatedly but he has refused. He thinks back to each of his "children" and remembers why he has chosen not to turn another into the monster he is today.
Beth Ann is deeply hurt when she learns more of his past. She loves him and wants to remain his forever. Will he turn her when he is so deeply against it? Will his past come back and destroy the life he's built? Will we learn more about his three "children"? For those answers you must read he book. I cannot wait to continue reading this series.

This book is the beginning of a three part series dealing with supernatural creatures. Actually, a little reminiscent of True Blood in that these supernatural creatures have come out and people know about them and they have, for the most part, assimilated into society. I like the authors take on vampires; slightly different then the classic, but not completely different like other books have been. I felt this book was written too quickly. I was not able to connect with the characters and feel apart of the story. While the sex scenes where hot, they seemed very similar to each other and seemed lacking somewhat. The dialogue seemed off as well. In the historical portion of the book the dialogue is more formal, which I except, but seem stiff and awkward. The book could have used more detailed editing and formatting. All in all, I did like the storyline towards the end of the book and look forward to seeing where it goes in the next two installments.

Royce has been a vampire for centuries and has learned many things he is also one of the few who can walk in daylight making him a lethal weapon. Royce has decided to make his immortal life about seeing justice served and helping humanity. In the 21st century this makes him an excellent cop. Beth Ann is the woman he is currently involved in a power house of a woman who also fights to see justice done. Her love for Royce makes her want to become like him but he refuses to turn her. His previous “children” did not turn out at all as he thought they would and he is not willing to risk his Beth Ann to the same fate. TO never love again is a tragedy in his book. This book gives you a glimpse of the former and current workings of Royce. Blood and sex abound in the pages and are so vividly written that you will need a cigarette or two after reading them. Erotic without being trashy and a great paranormal influence. Great book looking forward to the next in the series.

Vampire is a great read. It is a paranormal erotica. We get it has a vampire, a fallen angel, a witch, a human and lots of sex. That all put together makes for a good story that you won't want to put down.

Royce has had an interesting life and the women he has been involved in are definitely not boring to read about.
Beth Ann loves Royce. I kept reading because I wanted to find out whether Royce would be able to return her feelings and love her too.
Vampire is a quick read which was good because I didn't want to put it down until I finished it.

Royce Bellamy is a cop on the overnight shift for NYPD but he is also a vampire, a vampire who has great control over his desires and needs and can walk in the daylight unlike most, but he is also a good vampire wanting to rid or control the other vampires who cannot control their temptations and bring harm and chaos into the world for the better of the world. Ahhhh and the beautiful women of the story he has encountered and BITTEN and turned them now into vampires, my favorite being the beautiful Angel, his harem of beauties some which teach him others which he teaches to control temptations of being a vampire and the erotic sex is hands down phenomenal and delicious. Royce is like no vampire you've ever read about I highly suggest this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal erotica you will not be disappointed. This was my 1st and it definitely has become a new found addiction. Well written and spot on with the characters in this paranormal world. Well done Mr Radcliff.

This is not my typical genre to read but it was another well written book by Ethan. Royce Bellamy is a 1000 year old vampire who has found his happiness with a human by the name of Beth Ann. He refuses to turn her due to his three children (the women he turned) because of what changes when you become immortal. He believes that when you are reborn as a vampire then you lose all ability to feel emotions especially love. Love is the one thing he misses. But it is Beth Ann stays loyal and proves to him how wrong he truly is.
One of the things I loved the most about this book is how it starts in present day but goes back to before he was changed so you can experience his life as a human, the pain and loss he experienced losing his wife and children,then how he found out he was a vampire and how he reacted to being a newborn, how he met and changed Magenta, Dahlia, and Lucinda, and why he wants to keep Beth Ann as a human.
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Royce Bellamy is not your average vampire, over the years he was able to sustain sun. He is a cop and live amongst human, and he has adjusted not to feed on them. You may consider him as a new breed of vampire. He does have a woman the he cares about Beth Ann and she’s human.
He had a harem of women and he even transformed three of them. Lucinda, Dahlia and Magenta, who are his protégées.
Beth Ann loves him to a point that she wants to be like him eternal and spend the rest of her life with him. But Royce is not sure if he wants to do it. He knows that he will never love like he had loved before, but even now he had doubt about that.
He does feed on Beth Ann and the sex during that time is surreal for both of them.
So will Royce transform Beth Ann…… you’ll have to do like me and read Warlock to find out.
Ethan knows how to keep the intrigue going on and on….. He has the talent to make us want more of his writing.

wow Royce is a sex god for sure an vampire that can never be satisfied without more then one orgasm, and to have 3 beautiful sexy children of his my goodness what a lucky man, I have read many vampire books and this is one is one of my favorites. the fact that Royce changed himself to become a true man worthy of Beth Ann and that he truly cares. How he changed 3 special women to be his children each with a gift all there own. the confrontation of Lucinda and Beth Ann had sparks for sure. the ending was beautiful cannot wait for Warlock to come out

If a 1000 year old vampire can be sexy, then Royce Bellamy fits the bill. He is dominant, sensual, and is basically a good guy when it comes to what's wrong and right in the world.
This books gives us a tour of his life and the three women he made his family. This was excellent because so many times those details are left out of the book.
Like a fine wine, I am a connoisseur of vampires. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Radcliff's take on the paranormal. It was hot, very stimulating, and made me salivate.

Get lost in the world of vampires with Royce Bellamy. Ethan Radcliff doesn't only give you a hot sexy vampire, he gives you an expansion of sexy characters to include a witch, a sorceress, a fallen angel and a human lover that wants to turn. Royce Bellamy is a powerful weapon in the world. Ethan Radcliff gave characters that are hungry for each other and the amount of heated erotic sex scenes will blow your mind. Great start to the series and I must continue.

What a fantastic book to introduce his series of Erotic Paranormal. I've read a few books in the genre and this one was right up on top! The characters Royce and Beth Ann are amazing, the sex is steamy hot! Just finished Warlock Book 2 in this Erotic series. Now waiting for Jackal! Don't miss out on these amazing reads!
