Rodrigo Lacerda was born in 1969, in Rio de Janeiro. He has published the following books: The Mystery of The Rampant Lion (novel, 1995), The Dynamics of The Worms (novel, 1996), Tales to the 21st Century (children’s book, 1998), Tripod (short stories, 1999), An Image of Rio (novel, 2004) and The Maker of Old People (children’s book, 2007). Living in São Paulo, he worked as editor and publisher for some of the most important publishing houses in Brazil (The University of São Paulo Press, Nova Fronteira, Nova Aguilar, Cosac & Naify).

Os dois "roteiros" que compõem uma das partes do livro são interessantes, ainda que tão truncados e estranhos quanto o resto do material. E talvez só isso. As crônicas e contos que completam o volume são particularmente datados, ainda que descolados de qualquer evidência temporal. Só de bater o olho já se percebe que são fruto de um Brasil e de uma literatura de outros tempos, no mau sentido. Talvez eu queira ler 'O Fazedor de Velhos' para entender como Rodrigo Lacerda se tornou um autor tão amado.
