This story had a lot of potential, but fell short too many times. Everything about the story felt rushed. If there were a bit more thought or time put in to developing the story, I think it would have been so much better. Also, this story needs serious help sectioning off the stream of consciousness, as well as a thorough editing! As an editor, it was painful to read this story with so many errors.

Okay Read
I tend to stay away from short reads, preferring longer books. That's how I ended up reading "SHROYER" first. Had I read "XAVIER" first, I probably would not have continued the series. For a short read, it had a lot of excess chatter between non-essential characters that took time away from the story. I actually skipped over parts.
