THE VISITOR (K T Morgan #1) by Kathryn J. Bain is a fast-paced action short story that will not disappoint. This is about a young woman who thinks her ex his coming into her house and rearranging her belongings. But what she doesn’t know is that there's someone in the closet.

“Christine Westman bumps against a stranger in a Jacksonville supermarket, he gives her only one month to live. A killer moves into Christine’s walk-in closet and watches her nightly preparing for the day of her death. Can Christine survive when midnight hits and The Visitor comes calling?”

Christine thinks she is losing her mind! Why are things disappearing in her home …and later showing up in unfamiliar places? Who is doing this to her and where are they? Are they already hiding in her house ready to pounce at a moment’s notice!

The tension is unbearable and I can feel my heart racing with every development.

Who is this serial killer that is stalking women, until the final hour and her time is up.

“What you can’t see can kill you.”

This is first book in the series of three, and works as a stand-alone. This story will keep you guessing how it is going to end. Now looking forward to Book 2 - SMALL TOWN TERROR.

My thanks to the author who provided a free download on Amazon. The opinion expressed here is unbiased and entirely my own.

Christine Westman thinks she is losing her mind. Things she normally puts in one place turn up in places she never uses. So who is getting into her house to scare her? She's afraid that it might be her ex-boyfriend who gave her back her key, but maybe made a copy first? Changing the locks on her doors seems to be the answer.

But then again .. what if the visitor is already inside? Living in your spare room ... or closet? Watching you sleep at night? Touching your things during the day when you're gone?

This scary serial killer has no name. Police have no idea who is is. Victims are those women he perceives as rude, mean, selfish, etc. It could be someone who accidentally bumps him and doesn't say Excuse Me! He finds a way in and watches her until her time is up.

For a short story, this one packs a punch! I guarantee you will be checking the closet, under the bed, the attic, checking to make sure everything is locked up tight before you turn out the lights.

This is Book 1 in a series of three, but works as a stand-alone. There is no cliff-hanger. I'm really looking forward to Book 2 .... SMALL TOWN TERROR.

My thanks to the author who provided an e-ARC. The opinion expressed here is unbiased and entirely my own.

Holey crapulence!! This story..this short, terrifying story, this gripping, gonna leave a light on story!! Holey moley...it reaches right off the page and grabs you up tight and doesn't relinquish its hold until, until the very last word!!
The gist of the story has you thinking to yourself, she's gotta be flaky -losing/misplacing keys, work badge and other little things..But dang! I've even caught myself putting milk in the pantry and corn flakes in the refridge!! But that doesn't make me crazy!! However, Christene is not aware these sick maddening tricks are not of her doing!! Oh I digress...
In the end she's saved by a new friend AND her own strong bravery!!
So, go grab a comfortable chair,a cup of coffee(or tea) you can have that stuff drink after you've finished the story!, And enjoy the story!! HooRah--P/
Did I say I was gonna leave a light on? Hell, I am also gonna clean my closet out😁😁

3.5 stars.

I'm impressed with this story. I don't expect too much with short stories, but the cover is what got me interested. It's written from the killers point of view but also that of the main female character. I liked KT the most, I related to her more than the others. Definitely worth checking out.

Don't read this book before going to sleep. It'll scare the wajepees out of you. Unless you're ready to be terrorized.

What a gripping story. Drew me in from the first sentence, and didn't let me go until the end.

What Christine Westman doesn't know can kill her. A man in her closet who messes with her mind.

I loved this story and look forward to the next one in the KT Morgan series.

A short, yet gripping read that is high on suspense. Christine is sure someone is in her apartment as things move. Is she imagining it, and losing her mind, like we all feel at times? Or is there really someone there, and if so, who? This story from Ms Bains will keep you reading, and double checking the locks at night.

Too short

It was super exciting but lacked detail at the end. I would have liked the suspense to.grow more towards the end

This was the first book I read by this author, Kathryn Bain. I read it from beginning to end in one sitting. It was an engaging story, with plot points that kept me intrigued all the way through. The characters were believable, especially the antagonist with his evil thoughts and words which made me shudder. I found myself almost holding my breath a few times as I read. I found this story to be quite entertaining as well as terrifying. Thank you, Ms. Bain, for a wonderful read!

Your home is your refuge, a safe place where you can relax, but there are moments when that notion could be disrupted immeasurably as in Kathryn J. Bain's The Visitor.

To read this, and other book reviews, visit my website: http://makinggoodstories.wordpress.com/.

Christine thinks that she might be losing her mind, or at the very least doing strange things while tired, as she finds her things in places she'd never put them throughout her home. But it isn't just Christine's tiredness causing these disruptions to her routine, there's someone lurking in her walk-in closet, watching her and biding his time until his plan allows for him to kill her. Plans for both parties get interrupted when Christine's friend volunteer's Christine's home to host a guest for the weekend, throwing Christine's established routine and the visitor's well-laid plans for a loop.

A swiftly moving story that develops a creepy vibe through the perspective of the lurking visitor, alternated with the slightly harried perspective of Christine's interrupted daily life and established routines. With the narrative broken into short snippets from the different perspectives as well as broken down by day, and sometimes hours, the pacing of events becomes an important element in the story as it builds to its climax. Being provided insight into the visitor's point of view makes for a more interesting read as it heightens suspense and adds a touch of the psychological to the story. Though the characters aren't deeply developed, which can be expected in a short story, they are established with some basic, stereotypical traits; however, it would have been more interesting to delve deeper into the mind of the visitor, as well as get more background of KT, to have a more complete and complex atmosphere.

Overall, I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Wow!!! This was a fast paced, action filled short story.
The story was so developed and the author packs a lot of emotion in a short span of time.
KT was a surprise and I look forward to reading more about her.
When the story first started,I thought it would be about a woman accepting her fate instead of fighting, boy was I wrong.
Thank you for an advance copy of this book and in return I give you my honest opinion.

Madman who thinks of them as pretty things, and that they are only thinking of themselves. The newest object of her attention a full length mirror. The author delves into the madman’s thought of what he sees.
Thankful for walk in closets, a game of hide and seek. A short, but action packed, with thoughts given of both the madman and the victim.
Riveting to the end.
