Give American cake artist Genevieve Haywood a picture of anything, and she’ll turn it into a sweet and decadent creation. She’s not going to let hard work or competition stop her from opening her dream business. But when she’s hired as the cake artist for her cousin’s wedding in France, she never expected to run into the French fashion designer who broke her heart fifteen years ago.
Roman Duchaine is done with living life in the fast lane. Tired of being in the haute couture spotlight, he’s moved back to the small French village where he was born and raised. Roman’s ready to settle down and have a family until the lost love of his life arrives for his cousin’s wedding. Seeing her reminds him just how devastating falling in love can be.
Their fragile truce is meant to last through the wedding, yet every second together makes their attraction and long-buried feelings undeniable. But old habits and hurts die hard, and while Roman is ready to weave their lives together, Genevieve can't afford to lose herself in his shadow.
Sloane B. Collins is an award-winning author of Contemporary Romance. Although she is a fifth-generation Texan, she dreams of moving to the French countryside someday. Right now, she lives in the Dallas area with her husband of over twenty-six years, and their four rambunctious cats.
Since Sloane and her husband love to travel, she is determined to write a novel set in just about every place they visit.
It was hard to put Love Redesigned down and go to class! The characters are so well written with emotional depth and individual personalities that I got wrapped up in their world, much like I was watching from the sideline and not reading. The story was always moving with unexpected people and events popping up, keeping me anticipating how they would react and what was next. Though the love story is very emotional and serious, there is plenty of light-hearted humor and characters to keep everything upbeat and hopeful. And if that isn’t enough, the sex scenes are passionate, steamy and plentiful. This was a fantastic book that had me cheering for the hero and heroine, wanting them to realize they need to be together. Without spoiling anything, the end was beyond romantic and, in my opinion, was perfect. Sloane Collins created a wonderful story and I enjoyed every word of it. I hope to see more books from her soon!
Masterful cake artist Genevieve Haywood can’t say no when her favorite cousin invites her to France to orchestrate the baked goods for her wedding and serve as a bridesmaid. Genevieve hasn’t been back to France since she was a nineteen-year-old student at Le Cordon Bleu. When she arrives at her cousin’s chateau with her best friend, Daniel, she is stunned that the dress designer for the bridal party is her former lover, Roman Duchaine.
Roman is equally stunned to see Genevieve and proclaims his disinterest in her when questioned by the bride. He knows he cannot avoid Genevieve entirely in his role of dress designer and best man for the groom. When his old attraction to her resurfaces, he cannot control his desire.
Collins manages to slowly unravel the fifteen-year-old misunderstandings and secrets of the couple who are better at pleasuring one another sexually than at admitting their feelings. Love Redesigned is a well-written story of misunderstandings, deceit, and grappling with love that refuses to die.
This review was prepared by Jackie McMurray for her column Jackie's Jargon in the January 2015 issue of The Book Breeze.
I want these characters to have their happy ending.
The story unfolds with all of the misunderstandings between Roman and Genevieve still causing them pain. I don't want to give you any spoilers, so I won't go into too much detail. Just let me say that they both had reason to be hurt. Every time they start to work it out or have hope something or someone gets in the way.
I loved the ending, which was charming and showed how romantic Roman could be and how much he loves Genevieve. Once she stops being stubborn, she lets herself accept his love and be happy.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves the journey of getting to know characters and cheering for them to be together.
Love Redesigned is a true delight. Take a trip to romantic France and get lost. I did. There was something both fantastical (the immersive setting) and real (the characters) about this tale. Their conflict, struggling to let go of painful past hurts AND finding balance between their burgeoning careers, is one every ready can relate to - making us root for Gigi and Roman all the more. I loved this book and highly recommend it - especially if you need a weekend away but can't take an 'actual' vacation right now. ;)
I really really liked this! I couldn't put it down, which proved a problem with everything else I had to do. I love the characters and the author's voice. Also, the romance is so awesome and enjoyable. I think the setting is perfect and I like the seriousness of the plot, even though it's full of jokes, as well. I'm so in love with Mr. BFF. The main conflict is deep and realistic, but everything proves to be okay in the end.
I received this book as a result of a Goodreads giveaway. It is a well written love story dealing with the past, misunderstandings, and the careers of two successful people. The romance is awesome and hold your attention as you follow how Genevieve and Roman deal with their current unexpected encounter. I couldn't stop reading until their story was complete.

I love reading novels or novellas about second chances of true love. When I read the description of this book, I knew I have to review it. Set in France, and written by a truly talented author, this book was filled with second chances and so much more. These characters are well developed, stealing your heart instantly and keeping you focused on the passion and connection that the characters share.
Genevieve is a wonderfully created character. She is beautiful and talented and her heart is guarded. Watching her guard her heart, and reconnect with Roman was a fun and emotional experience. She made me laugh, and cheer her on so many times. I felt an instant connection with her and I was so glad to follow my new friend through the streets of France and watching her her guarded heart and emotions play out before me.
Roman….Roman, Roman, Roman. What can I say about him other than oh-la-la-la. I loved him, though not quite as much as I loved Genevieve. He was sexy and appealing and really kept me on edge (in a good way!).
Ms. Collins threw in some amazing secondary characters that will make you smile and laugh right on through to the end. The setting of the story was detailed perfectly, making it come to life and transporting me strait to Paris. The smoking passion between the characters was incredible. I felt the heat of the moments as if I was truly there.
In the end, this is an awesomely created story. Ms. Collins hooks the reader instantly and keeps them turning the pages until the end. She sweeps you off into a roller coaster of emotions and passion, and doesn’t stop the ride until the perfect moment. This is definitely a keeper book, and I will be recommended this book to everyone wanting a story of guarded hearts, emotional moments and passion that will leave you burning for more. A wonderful story of second chances, Ms. Collins! Can’t wait for the next book!
