Chris struggles with his role as Emily's guardian in the apocalyptic wasteland of New York, even as the two begin to bond. When nefarious forces converge on them, Chris realizes he must make the hard choices.
First I was a computer scientist. Then I was a lawyer. Now I'm an author. Soon I'll be a screenwriter. Then, I plan to be a cruise ship captain. And eventually, I intend to be a corpse. Dream big, kids!
I'm enjoying the character development that is taking place as this story goes on. I love that we finally get to see the MC, Chris, show some true love for someone else even if he won't admit to it. The way he sits and watches his niece play everyday just to check up on her and see if she's finally smiling, is something that buffs down a lot Chris' self-made edges. I'm not gonna lie, I was also a pretty big fan of the torture scene that occurred in this installment. I'm definitely not one to shy away from that kind of stuff and it makes me really want to learn more about the Messenger. He's deliciously gruesome and I love my villains :)
