Corrugated headboards and lamps. Robot chairs. Marker-colored light bulbs. This isn't a book geared toward home decorating, it's a hefty craft book aimed at preschool and elementary kids.

The tips definitely show their age/date, and in the world of Pinterest and what not, this extremely heavy hard-cover book isn't really worth the shelf-space anymore.

That said, for someone who is 100% D-i-y and is starting out in their own space, a few of the ideas aren't bad (a lot of glue and rope and re-purposing blankets), but again, just save paper and find the ideas online.
