***for mature readers due to sexual content, graphic language, and violence. Not for young adult readers*** He will show her a world she never imagined. She will show him how to open his heart to love. Scarlet Castle is a small-town girl with big-city dreams. Ever since she can remember being a dancer on Broadway has been her goal, but downtown Houston is as far as she’s gotten. Dax Dixon keeps the books at Saints and Sinners Lounge, a well-known cabaret in the heart of Houston. He’s also the grandson of a hard core motorcycle club president. No one can prove the club is full of criminals, but Dax doesn’t need proof for what he already knows. And he also has no intention of being involved. As for the opposite sex? They were only good for one reason. Then he meets Scarlet. Then all bets are off. One night at the lounge Scarlet becomes a witness to a crime, living proof that the MC is not as pure as they want people to believe. Dax’s grandfather wants to eliminate her and he sends someone she least expects to get the job done. Can Dax get to her in time to save her from the MC determined to destroy their future?
First let me begin by saying this book was unbelievably sizzling! HOT, HOT, HOT!!!! Scarlet and Dax light it up in this book!!!! I really enjoyed this book, it had a very intricate plot and I assure you the twists and turns will keep you on your toes just as much as the heat will keep you melting. I adore Dax, he did a complete turnaround as a character and grew into such a spectacular man. I absolutely love when that happens. Scarlet is adorable, she is so innocent and cute, yet so strong and powerful. She is such a strong heroine, she is very relatable and I can see a lot of people relating to her. I really like the dark undertone of the story. The imagery in this book was so strong and really made the settings stand out. The characters are so dynamic and realistic. ‘Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’ was an emotional, beautiful, sizzling, sexy, amazing, rollercoaster of a ride. I cannot wait to read more from S. N. Garza!!
Declan Dax Dixon is one hot, dirty talking, alpha male who knows what he likes and isn't afraid to talk about it - he has no filter, speaks what's on his mind and goes after what he wants. Scarlett aka Pixie is an independent strong-willed young woman. When their paths cross neither want to admit that this could be something but their attraction is undeniable. This is the first book I've read where there is an MC, but the focus is not on the MC but the family member who chose not to be part of the MC. The story and characters are well developed. I can't wait to see what S.N. Garza has in store for us next!
It was a little rocky in the beginning. I was nervous it wasn't going the way I had hoped. Glad to see Pixie and Declan had a great happily ever after . I really enjoyed this book . The only thing I would change would be Declan in the beginning how he acted with other women. I don't like reading about heroes with other people even when they are not with the heroin. I do recommend this book . Wish that there was more of an epilogue but I liked what was there so not too bad after all.
OMG I have waited for this book to release since I read the sneak peek and was lucky enough to get an arc. I was so happy the book lived up to my extremely high expectations. I loved Declan. his character was made so beautifully that I was sad to see the book end. the characters all progressed wonderfully and I couldn't put the book down. A definite must read you won't be disappointed
2 Platypires for Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend by S.N. Garza
This is a DNF for me. I told myself I wouldn't read the player and virginal troupe anytime soon and this is where I found myself with this book. I wasn't going to put off the troupe forever and I still would have broken my promise but I just couldn't with this book. I just did not like Dax. I thought he was just gross with his vulgar language which is surprising because I tend to curse like a sailor. I didn't like his views towards women and thought he came across as a real jerk. I just didn't want to see him get the girl. The other factor that turned me off with this book is the fact that it was set in my city of Houston. Normally, I would be all over it but certain parts took me away from the story. I just couldn't picture the bad boy Dax visiting chain restaurants here in town when our city has so much to offer. We are known as one of the top food destinations in the country. But whatever, I think those feeling were more personal than anything else. This also isn't my first book by the author. I do think she has talent but I just couldn't with this book. It just wasn't for me.
Scarlett and Declan...OMG...what a gorgeous and hot pair. He was a dirty talking bossy bossy sexy man and she was a sweet virgin who lived with her Nana, having been abandoned by her mother when she was only 4 years old. Scarlett works as a bartender and longs to be a singer/dancer one day. She gets her wish (sort of) and lands a job at a "gentlemen's club" owned (unknown to her) by Declan's family. Their relationship runs the course from best friends to lovers and the journey to get there was oh so steamy...a seduction that was slow and gentle and then when the beast was unleashed...it got panty melting scorching hot!! A surprise turn of events (not a good one) and some mysterious and dangerous occurences at the club threaten not only their relationship, but their lives as well. When tragedy strikes close to home for Scarlett, Declan steps up his game but it might be too late. Some people close to them have sinister motives for what they do and heartbreak is rained upon the happy couple. I really liked the outcome of this part love story, part biker book...with the twisty surprises and finally with the HEA (for the most part) ending. A dysfunctional and passionate family drama with a heavy dose of romance as well.
Such a great book. Whew...Dax is one hot man. I just love how feisty Scarlett is and she stands her ground when she feels the need. I love a strong female character that matches the hot alpha male.
Needs editing but liked it. Interesting story line. Alpha male, virgin strong minded female, motorcycle club, strippers and cabaret...what's not to like?
