A letter to Rod Stewart resulting in a Cinderella birthday for her daughter sowed the seeds of New York Times and USAToday bestselling author Jean Brashear's writing career. A lifelong avid reader, at the age of forty-five with no experience and no training, she decided to see if she could write a book. It was a wild leap that turned her whole life upside down, but she would tell you that though she's never been more terrified, she's never felt more exhilarated or more alive. She's an ardent proponent of not putting off your dreams until that elusive 'someday'—take that leap now.
Over fifty published novels later, the five-time RITA finalist and RTBookReviews Career Achievement Award winner has accumulated a whole passel of war stories to swap and loves nothing better than talking writing and books with readers and fellow writers.
And she'd still take that leap, war wounds and all.

Another fun read from Sweetgrass Springs. Sweetgrass Springs is preparing for a first ever Community Christmas and everyone is getting into the spirit. Ruby and Scarlett are working hard to get the old courthouse revamped for an upscale event restaurant and meeting area in hopes to save Sweetgrass Springs. Then Jackson, who also wants to save the little town, decides to move his business to town, but meets with resistence from employees. So as he works to bring some of his people to Sweetgrass, he transforms several of the buildings into work space and living areas. His biggest dream is to marry Veronica and live in Sweetgrass with the her and the kids. Meantime Bridger is trying to get Pen to marry him, but like other Gallagher women she is dragging her feet. Can they get the courthouse ready for Christmas and convince everyone that weddings at Christmas would be good
First, I must confess I have not read the series except for one book prior to reading this story. However, don't let that stop you from reading this sweet story. I did feel a little confused at first but the author did a fine job of back explaining enough that the story was still very enjoyable. It revolves around the importance of family and community supporting one another and the potential problems of a blended family. Everything discussed in the book shed a good light on how to work through problems with lots of love and encouragement. You'll want to be part of the family by the end of the book!
WOW.. I enjoyed reading all of Jean's books, they draw you right into the story. What a heart warming story, this book was. Jean Brashear sure knows how to put her words into your emotions. Jean's books about, Sweetgrass Springs make you laugh and cry. All the charaters of these books draw you in where you are unable to put the books down until you have read all of them, the heart break each and very character goes though, how each charcter help one another and the happily after of each and ever charcter. I love Jean's writing and recommend her books for great love story read.
The saga continues with Jackson and Veronica. Jackson wants to get married at Christmas, Veronica is leery. How can they pull if off in such a short notice. That is what Sweetgrass Springs is all about. Community coming together to make things happen. Now Abby and Beth are happy about mom marrying Prince Daddy, Ben is another story. Now Bridger is patiently waiting for Penelope to make up her mind. She wants to marry Bridger but can't decide when. She doesn't want to share the date with Jackson. Then all hell breaks loose. Yet when the dust settles, everything is as it should be.
A lovely Christmas installment! Veronica and Jackson's road to their wedding was really beautiful to watch, and I just adored everything with Ben and the girls. This one gets 4 stars because there was a lot going on. I probably would have appreciated it a bit more if I had read all of the previous installments, since some of the couples I wasn't familiar with. Overall, it was still a highly enjoyable story!
Excellent story that gives us a great follow up on the couple's we met in Texas Rebel and Texas Blaze. Jackson is ready to finally marry the woman he has loved all his life. When Veronica agrees to marry him this Christmas, the whole town of Sweetgrass comes together to help make it happen. With all the love in the air can Bridger finally convince Penny to become his wife soon?
A sweet story of a town full of people who love each other. In fact because of that live most of the town is related to each other. Because of problems with his father Jackson had suddenly disappeared years ago. Coming back he discovered the woman he had loved had given him a son he didn’t know about. His best friend had married her and given her twin girls. David had died leaving Veronica with the three children. This is the sort of their wedding.
When I first started reading this story I wasn't sure I would continue as all the different characters were hard to keep straight since I hadn't read any of the previous 5 books in the series. I am so glad I persevered though. I can't remember the last time I had to pull out tissues to wipe my eyes while reading a book. Boy, can Jean Brashear write a touching story.
Reading who each person is in the story line is extremely helpful when trying to put everyone in their proper places. It can get confusing if you don’t do this first.
The story is filled with laughter and happiness as we catch up with the characters of Sweetgrass Springs.
Such an interesting plot and engaging characters as well as a thought provoking and a beautiful story., I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I always enjoy books where many of the characters are already friends and the relationships are known from earlier encounters. This book surpassed them all. The children are such fun, the parents and their trials and relationships are enjoyed as each fulfills their needs and build their town, repairs and strengthens their relationships and begins the next generations. This book hit all the love and fun that the earlier books had and built on them. 4 1/2 stars for me.
These stories were a great follow on. Story one was Jackson and Veronica much awaited, to see how things would go. Loved how it all turned out. Next Penny and bridger this was awesome in how it came about, he was my favourite so far. Then th least one where they marry and the whole clan and town comes together. Just an awesome read. Narration was awesome too.
One of Jean Brashear's best. So much humor, romance and love, and a little angst, but no danger or mystery And could there be more weddings in the near future? Will a few hiccups cause problems? I love this little town and the quirky people in it. I hated to see this book end. Highly recommend.
In my opinion this is a nice holiday wedding read. I found Ben's reactions to things pretty believable coming from a divorced family. Everything was not the same but it came close for me. I appreciated Jackson giving Ben the space he needed, I could feel Jackson's disappointment. With all the chaos going on, I still got a little teary eyed.
This sweet Christmas story combines characters from a couple different series. I was hesitant to read it because I have not read any of the other books. There was just a time or two I was confused due to the use of nicknames but overall was able to read and enjoy the story.
This was an exciting and wonderful story . The Gallagher’s and the Calhouns made up most of Sweetwater, Texas. Jackson Gallagher was a billionaire and was determined to restore Sweetwater to its former glory. He returned to find his first and only love, Veronica. You will enjoy this story and how true love wins.
I have read the first six books of this series twice -- something I never do. This author has the ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time. She also makes you wish you could move to Sweetwater Springs and live there forever. Thank you for making these characters come to life for me.
I have enjoyed reading this entire series, but this book was just overwhelming. The heartbreak that Jackson and Bridger went through to get to their HEA, with their special ladies, was so wonderfully told. Thank you.
Not enough words to describe how very glad I am that I picked up the set of books containing the first three books of The Gallaghers of Sweetgrass Springs. Jean Brasher definitely knows how to write some touching stories.
A return to Sweetgrass Springs and all of my favorite couples. This is not only about Veronica and Jackson but all of the couples we already know and love. Ben has much to come to grips with still, and Beth and Abby are as adorable as ever. The narration was wonderful.
This book with all the family history was mind boggling for me to read. After too many times spent rereading page after page to try to keep everyone and their romantic interests straight, I finally gave up.
Liked this story but there was too many people involved so it was a little difficult to determine who was who. This book needs to be read after first books in this series so you know who the different people are and how they are related.
Overcoming heartache and struggles, second chances, new beginnings, a wonderful community, and more. It was a little confusing at first with all of the characters thrown at you all at once, but I enjoyed the storyline and the HEAs.
I didn't finish it. Too many people to keep track of. I may have read another book in this series, by not enough to remember much. This story seems to be about getting two of the engaged couples to the alter.
Unless you have read the previous books in this series, you may find the entire story totally confusing. References and quick synopsis of events in the previous 5 books just added to the difficulty in identifying the characters and their place in the narrative.
I have read several of the Sweetgrass Springs books and enjoyed them all. This one may need editing. There were many blank pages and disconnects in the story lines. In spite of that, I did enjoy it.
