He’ll sacrifice everything to be her savior, but will she be his downfall?

CIA Deputy Director Michael Stone is a decisive force in the war on terror. After surviving a harrowing terrorist attack that nearly killed him, he has also become an overwhelming force, putting nothing above his job in order to keep his country safe.

When his niece, the daughter of the Republican candidate for President, is kidnapped just days from the election, Michael vows to do whatever it takes to get her back safely and bring the kidnapper to justice.

Dr. Brigit Kent, a consultant for Homeland Security, knows the kidnapper well. Exposing him, however, will also expose her sister’s secret ties to a terrorist group. The only way to keep her sister safe is to cut a deal with the sexy and rock-solid deputy director, but blackmailing him can only lead to political and professional suicide.

With the clock ticking on his niece’s life, Michael has no choice but to accept Brigit’s offer. She’s beautiful, brilliant, and cunning, but is she friend or foe? The answer could break his personal code of honor—and his heart.

I wasn't that impressed with this book in the series. I was looking forward to the connection Michael finally makes with a woman. However, I was disappointed in the female character running off on her own when she doesn't have the experience such as other ladies do like Zara and Julia.

What is with authors creating female characters running off blind with not tactical or physical experience and thinking they will survive. It is so annoying. I prefer the strong women running off with training then these other women who think they can do anything with out any training. Oh well. Can't have it all I guess.

I'm just happy Michael got his woman. He deserved it.

Operation Proof of Life by Misty Evans is a 2014 Beach Path Publishing release. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book 3 in the Super Agent Romantic Suspense series.

This was a another solid installment of the Super Agent series by Misty Evans. This one starts off at a quick pace and stays there.

Dr. Briget Kent is on the periphery of several top secret agencies like SIS and is officially with Homeland Security. She has a very troubled past and is constantly on high alert. Sadly, the two people on her radar are her sister, and her half brother. When the daughter of a high profile politician is kidnapped, Briget fears she knows who is responsible and begins to insinuate herself into the investigation.

Briget's sudden involvement catches the attention of Michael Stone, a CIA deputy and the missing girl's uncle. Michael is suspicious of her and starts digging into her background, which initially turns up very little information. But, despite that, Michael finds himself attracted to Briget, the first woman he has noticed since losing Julia to Conrad.. who are now married.
But what are Briget's reasons for involving herself in this case? Michael never dreamed he would uncover an IRA terrorist group, blackmail, and find himself dodging bullets. But, the biggest shock is finding himself falling in love with the beautiful and complicated Briget.

This chapter in the series is more tense than the previous installments, although there are some humorous moments too. Kidnapping, terrorist, complicated family ties, blackmail, and intrigue all unfolding at a pretty fast clip, had me turning pages and blowing off my “to do list”. I did wonder how on earth a romance was going to develop since Michael was just starting to get Julia out of his system and well, Briget was trying to protect her sister as all cost and that put them at odds. But, the chemistry between them gradually increased and the timing worked out very well. These romantic suspense novels are very entertaining, usually with a little bit of a lighter tone, but I thought this one was the best one I've read so far.

I loved this book too. It is hard not to. Misty has so much going on in her books within the same story line. I started the book yesterday and finished it today. I wanted to find a good "break" in the story so that I could put the book down and do other things but I couldn't. She writes in such a way that you just keep reading and reading. I really enjoyed Michael and Brigit's relationship in this book. It developed so well and I even had tears in my eyes when Brigit didn't want Michael to leave in a certain scene. I loved how they both wanted to protect each other and how well they could relate based on their pasts. The story in this one was better than I anticipated (I have a tough time reading about kidnappings since I am a mother and that is such a fear). It flowed well and was a lot bigger than the kidnapping mentioned in the summary, so for those worried about that, rest assured you can read this one without any problems. I also liked that the characters from the other books played a role in this book (Conrad & Julia, Lawson & Zara, etc). I adore Del and Ace in this series, too. There are just so many things about this series that I enjoy it is hard to list them all in the review and I would have to continue starting each sentence with "I liked" or "I loved", so I'll end here. :) If you have read the other Super Agent books you will love this one! Highly recommended!

I loved this book! There is action non stop that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Michael Stone the hero of the book boy I wish I could find me one of those. He's definitely one of my all time favorite heroes. Poor Brigit her life has been just one roller coaster of a ride and Michael is exactly what she needs to make her life a fun ride. You can't help want her and Michael get that HEA. Give this book a go you won't be disappointed.

I was a little hesitant to read this one, since it is actually book 3 in Misty Evans' Super Agent series. Sometimes reading books out of order leave you feeling extremely confused and frustrated. That was certainly not true in this case and I am so glad I got the chance to read it. The book alludes to previous events in the series (mostly regarding Michael being in a hostage situation), but instead of being confusing it just made me want to read the other books in the series that much more.

To say that Michael Stone (who is the CIA Deputy Director) is going through some major issues in this book is a huge understatement. His niece has been kidnapped, he's still dealing with losing the woman he loved, and he continues to try and cope with the aftermath of being held hostage by a madman. I found him to be incredibly sexy, for so many reasons. He's amazingly smart, attractive, cunning, and extremely dependable. What's not to like? We learn a lot about who Michael is in this book, or rather, the kind of man he is; I'm really eager to get my hands on Operation Sheba and I'd Rather Be In Paris to *hopefully* learn more about him and the rest of the agents. I loved the addition of Dr. Brigit Kent to this novel. She was extremely mysterious at the beginning, coming up on Michael's radar early on as he's unsure of whether to trust her or not. As the book progresses we learn more about her life and what led her to her current situation, which makes it very easy to connect with her. Because of her rough childhood and her job, she's extremely tough; not in the physical sense, but she's extremely smart and clever which in my opinion is much more valuable than brawn. A prime example is when she makes the "assassin's umbrella". I was amazed by that and found it so interesting; I won't go into any more detail about that part of the book, so as not to give too much away - you'll just have to read it to find out!

The book mostly goes back and forth between the point of view of Michael and Brigit, and as you know, I really like being able to see inside the minds of all of the main characters because it helps me to understand them better. There is plenty of suspense throughout, along with some great action scenes that made it impossible for me to put this book down. I also couldn't put it down because I was excited to find out what was going to happen between Michael and Brigit.

The sexual tension between Brigit and Michael is incredible and it slowly builds as the story progresses. They seemed perfect together even from the beginning, but there were too many other, more important, issues to worry about and I liked the fact that the author didn't try to rush their relationship.

This book was such a pleasant surprise and I enjoyed reading it immensely. Full of suspense, mystery, and a little romance to spice things up, you won't be able to put this one down. Personally, I know I will be checking out the other two books in the series, as well as Misty Evans' other works.

Brigit's life has been hard. Her family life chaotic and tragic. She's trying to find her sister, Tory, and rescue her from her terrorist half brother, Peter, but with no success. Currently she's in Washington D.C. and ostensibly working for Homeland Security. When the young daughter of a Presidential candidate is kidnapped, she knows that Peter is responsible. What happens next is a roller coaster ride of suspense and danger. Brigit is feisty, intelligent and has major attitude. I love to read about a strong woman who can stand on her own. Brigit feels responsible for her mother's death and is driven to save Tory. When she meets Michael Stone, Deputy Director of the CIA, she knows that he's either her savior or her executioner. Michael is a worthy hero. This man is powerful, smart and strong. He understands Brigit. It seems as if they have an immediate connection. He just doesn't trust her. Their story grabbed me and pulled me in kicking and screaming. I have difficulty reading books where a child is in danger, but I couldn't put this book down. All the characters are unforgettable, as is the attraction between Brigit and Michael. I enjoyed catching up with characters from previous books in this series. I was intrigued by Truman, her assistant. The setting is perfect and the dialogue add to the tense atmosphere. Misty Evans has done it again. Operation Proof of Life is impossible to put down.

Great Series, I want more!!
I love this series; this book is the third book in the Super Agent series. It can be read as a standalone; however, I recommend you read them all! I stayed up all night reading this book because I didn’t want to put it down. I love Michael Stone, who is the CIA Deputy Director, his niece is kidnapped and he vows to do anything to get her back safe. Dr. Brigit Kent is a consultant for Homeland Security. She has been studying kidnappings and she believes that she knows this kidnapper well. She will do anything to see the kidnapper brought to justice and will do anything to see it happen. Michael and Brigit must work together or blackmail each other, to find his niece and the kidnapper. They must also fight their attraction for each other. This book has it all, romance, mystery, humor, and edge of your seat suspense. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Amazing! This was an awesome book! Everything was so exciting! Something incredible would happen, and I would be waiting for a break in the excitement to calm my nerves, but those breaks never happened. I absolutely loved the fact that my nerves were shot after reading Brigit and Michael's story! The spy aspects were magnificent, and everything happening in the story came together flawlessly. I loved Michael in the first book, and felt so bad for him in it. It was great to see him come alive in this book. Brigit was so awesome too! I love that she is more brains over brawn, but doesn't let any of her limits hold her back. This group of characters is definitely one of my favorites! If you are looking for a book that is full of excitement, suspense, and surprising twists, definitely check this out!

Operation Proof of Life is the third book in Misty Evans’ Super Agent Series. I have to be honest that it took me quite a while to get into the story line. I couldn’t give up on the book as I’ve never been disappointed with anything I’ve read by Misty Evans. And in the end, I wasn’t disappointed. Operation Proof of Life is filled with drama and intrigue. I grew to really like Brigit. Michael Stone is a strong character throughout and I liked the fact that he also had demons he had to deal with. After I got through the first third of the book I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read the next installment. I would like to disclose that I received a copy of Operation Proof of Life in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Proof of Life was such an amazing read. Michael's everything I could possibly dream of as a fictional hero - principled, tortured-yet-not-broken, gorgeous, cunning and resourceful, and I'm beyond delighted that he found his match in Bridget after the heartache of the first book. This story has everything that I've longed for in a romantic suspense novel: a breathtaking, sweeping plot, very engaging characters (the bloody hilarious snark between Michael and Flynn was truly a bonus) and a very likeable pair whose scorching chemistry made them perfect for each other.

I read this as soon as I finished the first two books. It was okay. Not enough to keep my attention and want to read the next book. The suspense is okay. The characters are completely forgettable. The only thing that I really remember is the author's name. I like it.
