2nd Printing with New Foreword by Dr. Marcellino D'ambrosio “Miracle Man” is no ordinary near-death-experience account. A true story, “Miracle Man” is so full of supernatural marvels and surprising twists that readers are unanimously saying they “can’t put it down!” “Miracle Man” will take you on a spiritual excursion as you follow Bernie Klein’s riveting journey to heaven and back after he inexplicably survives “the widow maker”—a massive heart attack that usually kills someone in three minutes. After experiencing multiple organ failure and spending six weeks comatose and on life support, Bernie comes back from “the dead” to share his dramatic encounter with Jesus, earning him the name “Miracle Man” among the hospital staff. Bernie’s come-to-Jesus radically changes him and his perspective on life, giving him extreme clarity on what truly matters. His first-hand account of a personal encounter with God also transforms his wife, Judy, as she learns to let go of her fear and mistrust and surrender completely to God. If you’ve ever wondered if heaven is for real…if you’ve ever had doubts in your relationship with God…if you’ve ever questioned whether God answers prayers...then this book is for you. “Miracle Man” is sure to make you laugh and cry as you experience God’s outrageous love, mercy and faithfulness through Bernie Klein’s life-changing story. “Miracle Man” powerfully reminds us that, in the end, miracles are possible.
Your book strengthened my faith and encourages me to continue to hold on to the Zephyr ride that my life has become over these last few years. Like the author, my hopes and dreams for my life has not equalled to the equation that I'd strived for and I find myself surrendering to His will and trusting Romans 8:28. This book was so heartfelt and easy to read. It made me smile and brought me to tears but most importantly it renewed my strength and my faith. It made me appreciate your state, our Catholic heritage and our j'our defense vivre! Thank you and please know that you fulfilled Bernie's wish to get the message out.
Judy and her husband have drifted from their Catholic Faith. Bernie's sister has stayed true to the faith they were all raised in. Now that they are older and expecting a grandchild - Judy is searching for faith. The day Judy takes their daughter to her mid-wife to give birth with Judy as her coach, Bernie has a massive heart attack. The mid-wife and the hospital Bernie was taken to are not close. Judy decides to go to her husband. He spends 6 weeks on life-support and comatose. Judy is so scared and can't imagine her life without Bernie. Bernie awakes and talks to Judy about meeting Jesus. This "meeting" radically changes him and he wants a priest. Bernie's message from the other side strengthens Judy's faith and they both return to the Catholic faith together. They surrender to God's love and peace. There are tears, laughs, and crises throughout the reading of this memoir. My takeaway from reading this - God answers prayers in His time and in His way.
Amazing message of God's love. My sister recommended this book and when she explained that
Bernie doesn't survive and being an RN she was convinced only a family with political position would receive such extraordinary treatment to begin with ,well I almost didn't read it. But the real story transcends socioeconomic privilege and offers the beautiful truth of our merciful God who offers salvation and spiritual healing to all. The beauty of our Church and our interconnection is so lovingly depicted. So grateful to have read it.
An amazing book, anyone could relate to this book on so many different levels. The story of a family, the reality of their truth, and love for God. After years of prayer, Judy finds her desperately ill husband has received a second chance and has a deeply personal encounter with God, in Heaven. This story is so real, so tangible and so universal. The "trip" Bernie takes will restore your soul, bring peace to your heart. All the while you say this could be me, and the fruition of my prayers.
This story moved me to tears! The trials in life are depicted in loving and moving ways! The tragedy of how death separates us for a time is shared beautifully. The beauty of family love despite our individual differences that often cause conflict are portrayed honestly and sincerely. This story will inspire you to love God and neighbor with your whole heart.
Just like other reviews, I too found once I started to read this story I couldn't put it down. I felt part of the family riding the roller coaster of emotions that they all endured. At first I thought the daily inclusion of her updates to family a bit superfluous but then I realized how much I needed to be reminded of what I just read. Highly recommend reading it.
Judy Klein shares the story of her husband's difficult illness with such poignant sentiments that I felt I was standing next to her. Her great devotion to God is heart-warming, and her writing style is polished and professional.
Of course I'm a Catholic so I loved it and understood it all. However, I think Judy does a great job at explaining things so that anyone can understand why we pray like we do. While death is sad, I think this story can give us all great hope.
Although this story is ultimately about death there is as much about living in it as well. Living fully and finding hope in love and family and in Jesus Christ!
This is a fast read because it's hard to put down. It would be a perfect read for anyone questioning why bad things happen to good people and how to persevere.
