Lorelai Garcia has spent her life trying to be smaller. She's going to make sure she doesn't end up in a situation where she's once again, not enough.
Jackson Sloane falls for her the second he sees. Cocky quarterback, relentless flirt, and dangerously sincere when it comes to her, he wants what she’s convinced she can’t have.
One explosive night changes everything… then tears them apart. Thrown back together, jealousy burns hot, tension explodes, and every look feels like temptation. With her insecurities screaming at her to run, Lorelai must decide if she’ll finally risk it all for love.
This is a spicy friends to lovers romance, but it does deal with topics some viewers may struggle with such as emotional trauma, eating disorders, bullying (not from MMC), explicit language, and descriptive sexual situations. Please take these trigger warnings into consideration, and make the best choice for yourself.
This is book 2 of the Edgemont University Series but can be read as a standalone. However, characters are introduced in book 1. There is no cheating, an unrelentingly sweet MMC, and a HEA waiting for you at the end of this journey.
I've always been an enthusiastic reader with a love of many genres, but my heart belongs to romance the most! I live with my husband, four cats, and two dogs in Lancaster Ohio. I am a mildly obsessed fan of the Columbus Blue Jackets. I have the world's best job, working with adults with developmental disabilities. Writing a book has been a lifelong goal of mine and I am happy to say I can officially check it off the bucket list!
Another AMAZING book by Kayla! I had to stop and collect myself quite a few times because my emotions were all over the place. I can't wait to read Bo & Delia's story <3
This was cute! Lorelai’s struggles hurt my heart. I know people go through that and it sucks because everyone deserves to love their bodies without shame. It’s good that she’s got someone in her corner and that her relationship with her mom is healing. I’m looking forward to the next book!

Kayla has done it again! This book was wonderful!!! Literally crying as I finished it! If you liked the first one in the series, you will LOVE this one! Can’t wait for another story by Kayla Hartness! I am now an avid fiction reader ! Haha!
I don’t know that I have ever connected with a character as much as I as I did Lorelei. Her struggles with body image felt like my personal experience. This story had me in tears and also kicking my feet at times. Jackson is the perfect example of unconditional love.
Lorelai met Jackson when he helped her move due to a dorm fire. Her best friend dates his best friend. They have this amazing circle of friends. Anyway he instantly flirting and trying to get her to give him a chance. The inner voices remind her that she is not a quarterback’s type so she doesn’t believe he is really interested. When she finally gives him a chance things out of their control cause her to pull back again. Lorelai’s past has a huge impact on how she sees herself and how she interacts with others. My heart broke so many times for her and I couldn’t wait for her to get her HEA.
Throughout the story Jackson’s undying love for her is front and center. He puts her happiness above all else including his own. I said this about a Liam in book one but Jackson is also a man that only exists in books.
Lorelais struggles were so real and authentic. I loved watching her grow through it. Jackson was amazing and always so supportive. I've adored this series!
