Ruby recognized every face on the night shift, but the creatures wearing the faces were not her coworkers. She thought returning to work would help her heal. She was wrong.
After weeks away dealing with personal tragedy, Ruby expects to find comfort in familiar faces and the routine of her job at the nursing home. Instead, she finds her coworkers behaving oddly. Their smiles don't reach their eyes. Their voices carry an otherworldly chill. And the elderly residents, once chatty and spirited, now cower in silent terror.
Something has invaded the nursing home. Something ancient and hungry.
The sluagh have come to feast.
These harbingers of death feed on suffering and the helpless residents provide an endless banquet of fear and pain.
Ruby would already be dead if not for the appearance of a mysterious stranger, a man who seems to know exactly what's happening at the facility.
But when monsters wear familiar faces, how can she tell friend from foe?
A chilling tale of supernatural horror that will leave you questioning every smile.

I would recommend this series and author to readers of fantasy world 🌐 adventures novels 😯😉 2025 🎵😉
I normally don't gravitate toward "Monster" stories but I was looking for something short to keep me occupied during my two hour wait to get my car fixed. This tale of creatures taking over the bodies of the night staff in a nursing home turned out to be the perfect read for such an occasion. And if I had to describe "Sluagh: Monster Hunter for Hire" in just a few words, they would be: Fast-paced Fun.
Very short story to introduce a book series. The book held my interest and was packed with action. I did enjoy this book, however disturbing i found it.
