Mariah’s father, Marcellus Devereaux, runs a Top secret agency, providing her and her brother, Myles, with a lifetime of work. He also takes in wayward souls, men without love or a family, giving them a second chance and making them useful in his business.
They all treat mariah like a sister, but living in a house full of men isn’t easy. She’s isolated and out of the loop most of the time, leaving her with an overwhelming sense of loneliness despite living in a beautiful mansion with everything she could ever need.
But when she learns one of her housemates has been hiding something, the secret creates a bond between them. The more they talk and get to know each other, it’s clear greater feelings are budding.
But what will her dad and the others think when they find out?
"If I ever had to be tough in my life, now was the time."
This story was sooooo cozy, adrenaline rushed, Family centered. Mariah and her family are characters that feel so real. in a group of overprotective males , Mariah has to forge her place. High emotions, heavy responsibilities at stake! I loved this story sooo much !!! Cash was that guy. 🥰🥰
family of spies workplace romance secret history uncovered
I loved this book! This is a book about a family of spies. Mariah the FMC is brave and strong willed. when it comes to love and family she will do anything. the author of this story takes us through a fun whole hearted romance with a twist. A family who has a secret no one else can know about. But our MMC has his own secret! It's up to Mariah to decide if his secret is worth keeping and to think about what it may cost her. Is he worth keeping another secret for? Ah! This story definitely kept me guessing and I laughed so much throughout this read and even cried some. I loved following our main characters around and seeing them grow in this incredible story! There is adult content in this story!
This may be a shorter read, but it still felt like a slow burn. Mariah and Cash may have been in close proximity for three years, but they've always kept a distance untill she uncovers a secret he's been hiding from her father and their unconventional family.
Their romance builds slowly, with friendship, care and trust as the foundation. Cash doesn't just say, he does. Romantic gestures, reading books she loves, listening to her, training with her, secret dates and saving her the OJ. It's swoony and cute...oh and they are kick ass assassins and spies.
Super curious if her brothers are getting their own books? Also, there is beautiful art throughout the book!!!

At times I did feel a little stagnant, but overall it was a really cute fun read not so much a mafia romance as a spy romance

This was such a great read! I randomly found this author on TikTok and saw that she had several options for books. This book's cover intrigued me the most. I never read the summary, but I assumed from the title it was a Mafia type of story. I was close. This is a family that were all trained spies/assassins. A quick read, and I will definitely read another book by Dashia Renee Williams.
When I first discovered the author on tiktok, and saw this cover I knew it was my next read for 2025, and baby let me tell ya this book did not disappoint me at all. Can't tell you how I did not want to put my kindle down, how I wanted to finished it. I enjoyed it
Loved the found family trope and the relationship between the characters. I would have liked the book to be longer with more in depth scenes but overall a nice book🥰
