Nicole MacDonald is a thirty something year old Kiwi who loves to read and moonlights as a novelist. An avid reader from a young age, writing only occurred to her a few years ago after reading a book that didn’t quite hit the spot.
Daily scribbles eventuated into the BirthRight Trilogy, an Epic Fantasy Romance with women who know how to wield a sword, AND swing a punch. A literary journey that included six months of long sword training, as well as ju-jitsu lessons, and self defence lessons for Nicole.
When not writing Nicole loves to watch all manner of documentaries, escape to her family's cabin in the woods, and spend time with her other half and their fur critters.

I learned more than I would ever want to know about the vapid characters, and their hair and dating habits. I enjoyed how much fun the characters had, but I wish there was some depth or something interesting for me to read in it.

Way to many POVs and switched too often . Unreadable.

Be careful with the wording of spells

Four young women, all black belts in jujitsu and training with swords and bows. All living a normal life in New Zealand which is not known for its predators; there aren’t any. Their ages range from twenty to twenty-eight and one day they decide to make a spell that will join them with their soulmates. Woohoo! They got far more than they either expected or desired. Falling unconscious at the end of the spell they awaken to find themselves in a strange forest and wearing strange clothes. From then on they are enmeshed in the greatest fantasy they could ever have imagined. The world building is great and the story sucks you in. Far better to get the boxed set and be able to read right through to the end. There’s drama and love, good and evil all sometimes from unexpected places and people.
Do they find their soulmates? Well, you’ll have to read it to find out.

An Epic Saga to die for.

I decided some times ago to stop reading a series till it was complete because regardless of the ending it always leave in a state of in-completion. So, I was extremely happy & excited to find this trilogy in a box set.

What i did not know was that this trilogy will make me re-access my benchmark for the genre of Fantasy. Therefore, without spoiler alerts, I would like to tag this book as 1 of the must have series for all fantasy fans.

Nicole MacDonald has managed to create a very different, unique realm which I have not come across in the longest time. A land of beauty, death, sadness, strife but most of all a land of prophecies & magic.

The writing is flawless and the editing well done, apart from a couple of editing errors you will find the book a delight to read.

The characters well defined, well thought off and well structured. Each individual's growth is again very beautifully described. The plot & sub-plots are extremely well created.

Now getting down to the negatives of the series, it took me sometime to get into the story but once I got hooked I was totally immersed in the story line. A couple of times these characters come out to be very vapid & totally clueless but then considering their growth in the succeeding chapters & books that does make sense. However at that time it was very irritating.

Over all a well presented trilogy.

Boring

I was only able to get through the first couple of chapters and then I started skimming. So maybe if you can stay dedicated enough it will get better. The changes in point of view made it very difficult for me to relate to the characters. It’s not like they change every chapter, they change every couple of paragraphs. It’s hard to remember who is speaking and even harder to connect deeply with a main character.

I'm glad it was a set

I loved, loved, lived these books!!! I'm glad they came in a set, because I couldn't put the books down! I read, staying up late each night and reading every chance I had during the days. I was so absorbed in the series that no one could talk to me about anything. There was no tv watching or using the computer. Although I didn't want the story to end, I couldn't wait to see what happened next. They were so exciting!

A remarkable well written story.

I loved the whole trilogy from the 1st to the last. Each character was well written and I couldn’t stop reading. Going to work sleepy because I didn’t want to stop reading. I would recommend anyone to try reading each book.

AWESOME

So many jam packed chapters. With unforgettable characters and remarkable plot twists. Raw emotions of every kind. Beautiful descriptions. I did not want to put this down, in fact losing much sleep over my obsession to read just a bit more. A Definite MUST Read!!!!!

Headhopper

Almost every other paragraph we jump from first person to third person. I could keep the characters straight or stay immersed in the story because I had to stop every couple of sentences and decide the POV.

Very surprising

I certainly didn’t expect some of the directions this story took. Very interesting and unusual. A lot of very bad “bad guys”, and really good, “good guys”. Enjoy.

A good trilogy

Lots of action, good plots and characters, in this series . It is a long read but worth it to keep action flowing.

Interesting

Ngl, this series took a while between the romance, unanswered questions but it was a good ride for a 3 part series

The story was slow to move and I felt like I was listening to my daughter describe her wardrobe as it was the most dominating part of the story line which I totally found stupid and a big waist of time. The romance side was repetitive and again more suited to junior high school ( except for the scattered, unnecessary descriptions applied to intimate moments of the characters. Overall, the story line fails and so do the characters. BORING< BORING< BORING! Very long winded in alot of places. A very good book to put you to sleep though. I was so bored with these books, I kept falling asleep every few pages. I don't wish this on my worse enemy. Don't waist your time. I realy am still trying to figure out I made it through them. I went to the other books hoping the writing would improve and the bordom wouldn't persist, but I was really wrong, it got worse. So don't waist your time! Wish I could give no star rating.

I am not rating this as I only got about 2% in but I personally found the POV changes distracting and unclear. In just the few pages I read, I came across the POV of 4 different characters. Flipping through randomly, there are often POV changes every paragraph without any indication of who the speaker is as well as changes between 1st and 3rd person. I'm guessing I could become accustomed to the writing and the first book has really positive reviews but I'm going to pass for now.

Birthright Trilogy

The good, the bad and the ugly. The good was a fantastic adventure with plot twists galore. The bad was I felt like I was always being drug back into :) the bedroom! The ugly is when you keep hoping the end of the book will come.

Brilliantly put together, must read.

This book is one of the first books in a while that got me so emotional with each character. There are a whole group to follow and keep up with. Honestly on of the best written books I have read in a long time, and I read ALOT.
