Evidence does not change, but theories can. More than one tragedy happened on a fateful June day back in 1988, and Jenny has been tasked with setting the record straight. While her psychic abilities usually lead her to the killer, this time she is only given insight about the innocent. With the help of a private investigator, she relies on good, old-fashioned legwork to determine the truth...with a few clues from beyond the grave.
As she sits by the pool watching her kids splashing around, Becky Durfee is busy under an umbrella writing her Jenny Watkins Mystery series. A statistics teacher by trade, she uses her spare time to explore her more creative side.
She has worked full time, stayed home with kids, gotten married, gotten divorced, gotten re-married, acquired step-kids, juggled a career and a home, been pregnant, puked from morning sickness, given birth, peed from sneezing (directly related to that whole 'birth' thing) and somehow has managed to laugh through it all. Those experiences lend themselves to believable characters and humorous plot lines in her Jenny Watkins Mystery series.
Driven was accepted into the Self-e Library Journal in October of 2015.
Just last week I wrote a review for Book 5...though, I suppose it was more of a critique...in which I wrote about the frustration when reading Ms. Durfee's books, as she skipped into different scenes without any breaks.
I'm glad to state that Vindicated had breaks between scenes. The improvement made reading the book more enjoyable. Yay, for Ms. Durfee and whoever caught the error before book six.
I would recommend the Jenny Watkins books to other mystery fans. Now on to the continuation of Vindicated in Possession.
I enjoy this series except for some small annoyances. Aside from those, it is fun to see how Jenny comes to terms with her gift. My big complaint with this offering is there is no ending to the case. Boom the story ends with " continues in next book". That is such a kick in the teeth or butt to a faithful reader. I don't think that I will get the next book. Sorry but you lost s reader.
I really like this series but in this book the ending was not what I wanted. The murderer left town? There should have been some conclusion in this book.
