The second book featuring Max and Katie Callahan, unlike the first book which was told from Max’s point of view, this book is told from Katie’s point of view, which illustrates just what a talented writer Kenny Wright is. A thoroughly enjoyable (and stimulating) read from start to finish, so enjoyable I wished it would not end and there are not many books I can say that about.
After the nearly losing each other Max and Katie are closer and stronger, but the excitement of trying other men is still with them especially Max. He trusts her enough to allow her complete freedom, saying “Nothing is forbidden” So will she choose the likeable and charming Bradley or another man who makes a stunning reappearance in the name of AJ. Max and Kate’s friends Nadia and John help in different ways as the naughty slutty side of Kate begins to show, will she reject it or embrace it?

I thought it is about time to finally to draft a review to a book series I found great pleasure in, especially since there finally is a female perspective to identify myself with.

After having read the first installment, I came with high expectations, it was such an immensely tense story that kept the reader on their toes for the entire time right up until the grand finale, a plot that weaved itself through the entire book to keep us guessing.

To tell you right away, the sequel does not exactly measure up on the storyline, at least not im my humble opinion but that does not make it a bad read and I would be far from critizing such gifted author, the contrary, I know sequels are challenging and sometimes you feel that there just isn't a story left to tell but I strongly believe there is still more potential and I would happily encourage Mr. Wright to be audacious enough for another installment.

And I would recommend to everyone who has missed the prequel to remedy that as soon as possible. The story itself unfolds a little slower, it plays with the desire and irresistable pull of sexual attraction to something new and refreshing under the constrains of a relation where there are still some wounds to be licked. The writing is crisp and steamy when needed, I would have wished for John and Max to have a more impactful role, I believe their characters were a mite pale and could have or still find some further development to return the very thrilling tension that marked the first installlment a masterpiece for me.
To root for the protagonists, be hooked by the swings of their emotions and moral compass, fascinated by the decisions our minds make born by desire, misunderstanding, guilt and what more.

Now with all my rambling I realize that I haven't actually said much about the actual book but I hope by my passionate review alone does speak for it's qualities, it is piqued with sensual and smoking hot sexual scenes that do leave a suprise for the reader here and there still.

In two words ? Sequel please!

Wow, this book was hot! You could feel the love between Max and Katie. Their love scenes were hot, but the love scenes between Katie and her new lovers were smokin'! I won't be forgetting the scene between Katie and AJ in the yoga room at the gym anytime soon.

Also loved the ending of this book. I see there's another book in this series, I'll be reading it soon.

Love Kenny Wright's books: nice, clear writing, hot love scenes, engaging stories.

This is thee sequel to Something Forbidden, I book I really enjoyed. This had much of what I liked about the first book as well. Well developed characters and a real plot and story which made the protagonists live so much more real and complete than most books in this genre. But I gave it three stars because at times it dragged and felt overly long in getting to the heart of it all. Still, it is well written and as I said, more complete than most...

I found this a bit "meh" after the great storyline in the first book!...that is not to say its a bad book.but there wasn't much story to follow on with.and it just showed Katie had been non-stop thinking about other guys..although doing this kind of thing had nearly destroyed their marriage in the first book.but,it seemed she couldn't wait to open her legs for almost any guy interested in her...she had turned into a real slut/nymphomaniac now.and although she was using Max [her hubby] to justify things she knew deep down it was her!.although max was giving her a free pass.she was starting to keep secrets from him as well!. didn't have enough in the story to make it different from the usual "run of the mill" books of this genre.but not a bad book.but, nowhere near as good as the first book".
not one of Kennys best books but still worth a read..especially if you read the excellent first book!.

I was thoroughly unsatisfied for the first half of the book as it was uneventful to say the least. But, even though few predictable events proceeded as I was nearing the end I found myself grinning. Kenny has a way of pairing infectious characters with build up of excitement and good writing to make a satiating story. I honestly hoped for kink that was more extreme and sweeter conversations between Cate and Max to drive up the empathy and sexiness, but this was fine, fulfilling and happily ever after is much to my preference than empty sex leaving me to feel like I just watch bad porn. Thank Kenny.

Sequel to Something Forbidden, Kenny Wright seeks some input from the women in his life and gives us the next chapter in the life and lusts of Max and Katie Callahan. She is now permitted to more completely embrace her sexual self. Once again, the fact that Mr. Wright is a capable craftsman means that he need not overflow with sex merely to maintain reader’s attention. The longer narrative may reflect his effort to make the story more appealing to female readers.

As for where this couple has arrived by the end of the book there is room for a third book, going beyond her being a hot wife with him becoming more of an active part of their erotic exploration. This is me still hoping that the fine writing of Kenny Wright expands beyond the Hot Wife theme.

A great ending to a brilliant series

Kenny Wright. Nothing forbidden
In book one, the plot developed along typical lines that convert a typical confident male getting tortured into semi submission by his kink. Added to that, an ‘arrangement’ with wife governing how-when she’s allowed to play. Without spoiling the plot, he cleverly avoids that.
Wife has an epiphany regarding the risk to the relationship of her freedom to ‘play first’, report back later.
The angst develops in their lack of communication. A serious contradiction with what they’ve already learned the hard way.
She can’t seem to get the courage to fess up to who she’s attracted to. She talks all around it, letting Max create his own fantasies, while she’s in full knowledge of the error, and her deception. They both push to follow a path that caused issues before.
As a separate observation, KW puts Katie precisely within the demographic susceptible to
Submissive Domination.
Over 80% of women have an internal predilection toward being submissive. This is purely genetic. Males are, by their genes, on the other side of this equation, they are more ‘in charge’. This tendency is often overcome by environment. How they were raised. This is NOT a universal truth, but it plays on internal desires.
It has been studied and observed, women, in high stress positions with big responsibilities, nurses, Doctors, Teachers, executives, to list some examples.
Sexual submission allows them to escape the pressures they are subjected to. It gives them an opportunity to internalize the ‘escape’ from responsibility and corresponding guilt. They are Freed to do things, satisfy fantasies, they would never allow themselves to do, if they were making the decisions themselves. The dominant takes that guilt ridden part of it off their plate.
Bottom line: women with highly responsible careers are more inclined to be sexually submissive.
What’s even more interesting, both them, and their partners might not know it. They won’t discover it till they encounter a partner who is sexually Dominant.
This explains why she was drawn, yet afraid of AJ. The way he returned her purse in volume one, challenged her sense of ‘control’. She sensed her vulnerability, AND his power to capitalize on it.
Max dominated her, but only when the situations pushed his excitement levels beyond normal. He never puzzled at it, or explored the topic.
Katie sensed it more than Max. That was why she was unconsciously spurred to tease him. That’s when he was more likely to ‘push her’.
What Max lacks is awareness.
What I think is trite, even if he only did it for a few short chapters. With all of Katie’s internalizing about truthfulness, she only has one condition to keep,.. (Share Everything) and she fails that. (She can’t take yes for an answer).
KW allowed her to recognize her flaw. He gave her an intellect much superior to Max. She maintained control over her desires and impulses. She recognized and corrected her errors.
This has been an excellent sequel to a brilliant story. It lives up to the concept of Wife-Sharing.
What enhances this, as much as anything else,.. each volume is done with competing Points of View. Volume one is Max’s . Volume 2 is Katie’s .
This is a brilliant series. I strongly recommend it.
I would eagerly check out a sequel with Max and Katie. This series has been a delight and is purely scorching.
