Rah rah ... expect great things of God and great things will follow... that's the problem is it? Somehow everyone's expectations for what God can do are undersold and that is the reason why we don't see miracles?! Unfortunately this really is no answer to 'why anything'. I speculate, the issue is that Damazio has experienced some season of the surprising miraculous and he wants to suggest that everyone can benefit similarly... "if you wish hard enough". That is a bit harsh, but he really doesn't address the seasons when he himself didn't experience miracles or the vast experience of people of faith everywhere. He doesn't really have any answers or any solutions towards 'receiving the miracles prepared for you'. Simply claiming scriptures, the same scriptures repeated in chapter after chapter doesn't really cut it.

On the upside just about every word he writes is still true. At times he has some insights or good points to share - I especially appreciated his coverage of the Mark 9 healing of the boy with his father - surely one of the most inexplicable accounts in the gospels. Certainly God can and does bring miracles to us all, and I believe most people of Christian faith have one or two in their life testimony; yet what is wanted is some analysis so we might understand - not cheer-leading.
