By confronting his #1 psychotic fan and notorious stalker, New York Times best-selling author, Xavier Preston sets out to tame his inner demons by filming a documentary, These Boots Were Made for Stalking, based on mental illness and its long-term effects. After the attempted murder of his best friend, Dre', as a way to avenge Xavier's refusal to have a relationship with her after a steamy one-night stand, Pilar is currently residing and receiving treatment at a high-end mental institution.
These Boots Were Made for Stalking takes on a whole new meaning when stalker and victim come face-to-face after a year’s hiatus. Legions of Pilar and Xavier fans will not be able to resist this absolutely delicious reunion of this toxic couple.
After patiently awaiting this reunion, I must say......Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Electa Rome Parks, what a lil tease you are to leave us with such a deliciously tantalizing cliffhanger!
"These Boots Were Made for Stalking" is written with such authenticity that I was immediately drawn into the disturbed and dysfunctional worlds of both Xavier and Pilar. In an attempt to pick up his fragments of life...Xavier decides to reach out to his #1 fan, "The Infamous and Certifiably Crazed Pilar." The secrets and emotions that's revealed during "THE FACEOFF" will leave you on the edge of your seat!
AWESOME short story! I only wish it were longer. Can't wait to read the sequel!
Wow is all I can say. This story revolving around Pilar and Xavier is truly riveting. Even though they haven't seen each other in a year, the intensity of their hatred for each other seems to have no end. As they face each other not only will it prove to be almost self destructive but anticlimactic as well. Secrets will be revealed and tumultuous emotions surface. Will this be the closure that Xavier is seeking or will this meeting be the beginning of another downward spiral for them both? Job well done and I hope the author will release another snippet soon.
I believe that Xavier loves Pilar. She made him a rock star author and changed his life forever. Now Xavier has to find a way to move on with his life...he needs to forgive. Xavier has been researching and planning his next step...he will interview Pilar face-to-face. But who will win? Xavier or Pilar?
This was a VERY quick read that did not have the shock and awe as the previous books. But, I do suspect the next full length book in this series will be exciting thanks to the big reveal at the end!
