A woman who researches geology and volcanoes encounters a fiery dragon on a deserted island. The MMC was a bit too possessive which caused problems, but sort of made sense considering dragons are possessive of their hordes. As expected, the books was instant lust and full of spice so the epilogue was important to expand on the HEA.

Get comfortable you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned. Annie has always worked hard, studied hard, did the research to advance her career only to have her mentor steal all her work claiming it thus destroying her career, leaving her unsure of what to do, where to turn , and knowing she would have to rebuild herself so leaving on a vacation to recenter herself never did she realize that trip would change her life. Drekyn sexy as all get out ancient powerful dragon who has been sleeping for some time well sleeping for centuries dreamt of finding his mate but never imagined he would find her or she would just walk into his bedroom but that is exactly what happens and he isn’t letting her walk away she is his but will she run or accept him all of him, will she get the career she worked so hard for back, will her mentor get what they deserve, and will they find happiness?

So happy I decided to read more of this series! I loved this book as much as the first!

These two are so fun to read! I love the possessiveness of a dragon! Our main can complain all she wants, give me a big strong man who wants nothing more than to claim me and take care of me repeatedly? Mmkay! Their fiery passion and love is so hot.

The turning point in the book made me nervous for a happy ending, but I was so pleasantly surprised! Though I should have known anytime a woman gets sudden nausea in a book that’s the logical outcome. However, I loved the conflict that it caused between our mains only because it was a great juxtaposition of dragon and modern human.

Loved it! Will absolutely continue the series!

Encountering a real-life dragon shifter existing on the dangerous and beautiful island was everything Dr. Anneka Morrison could ever dream of when she set off on her own to prove her worth as well as recover from the worst betrayal she had ever experienced in both her research and her personal life. Awakened from over a century’s time of sleep, Drekyn is thrilled to discover a mate, a female he could treasure. But is what he is offering enough, when trust is not something that comes easily to either of them. Good first story from this new-to-me author.

I enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. I liked both Anne and Drekyn. I was so angry that her former friend and mentor just stole her work, accused her of theft after she accused him, and just because he was male and she female, her reputation and career were ruined. So angry! I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, though, and in this case, it brought her to Drekyn. The dragon was so lonely and the chemistry between them burned bright. But it wasn't an easy journey between them. A fun read.

This is the first story I've read by this author and I would read more.

Annie and Drekyn , a match made in a volcano. Girl goes off to lick her wounds off grid and meets a dragon. Dragon who has been a sleep for years wakes to find a woman in his cave. They fall for each other , now sprinkle in the drama and a moody/childish dragon who doesn't want his mate to leave. You have a book.
This was a cute, book, and I enjoyed reading it. Did I want to smack Drekyn for his attitude of course but to be honest what dragon doesn't have one. Over all good little read.

3/5 stars and 3/5 spice!

While I didn't love it as much as "Feral Mate", this was a fun novella to read still. It was a quick read (65 pages).

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a nice short read, loves a possessive/stubborn dragon shifter, mates, and wants some spice.

There will be more books in the series, but I do not have any news on that.

But on her first day there she sees a large "bird" in the sky and when she tracks it to it's cave, she meets Drekyn, a dragon. He has been sleeping for the last century and is captivated by this female who has walked into his bedroom.

Another fun novella by Roxie Murfit, Fiery Mate tells the tale of a female scientist, Annie, who has been betrayed by her good friend and mentor. With her hard work stolen, and her reputation and career ruined, Annie decides to do some research, far away from the rest of the world.
A deserted, volcanic island seems like the perfect place to start over. Researching volcanoes alone on the island, seems like the perfect way to get her head together. She never planned on discovering her very own, real life dragon.
Fiery Mate is an extremely enjoyable romance, with a hot dragon shifter, lots of sparks and steam, and a satisfying, smoking sweet ending. (Sorry! I couldn’t resist the fire references. 😂).
