Bro Amazing: A Why Choose Gamer Romance

Rate this book
Clarissa refuses to give up on her dream so she takes a questionable job that will solve all her problems. Hopefully.

The flyer advertised room and board provided for a hired live-in girlfriend. Not ideal normally, but for a sweet romance writer who's about to be evicted, it starts to look pretty good. However, it's not one guy hiring, it's five. An entire professional gamer team. Hesitant at first, Clarissa realizes this could actually work in her favor. She'd have a place to live and free food while she's writing her next book, and she'd be able to make it higher heat so it sells better by taking notes on all of the guys' moves.

Once she moves in, the gamers definitely don't keep their hands to themselves. The question is though, can she keep her heart to herself?

this had been a three star up until the last 5-10% of the book. we went from them kicking her out of their apartment, her leaving and going to her parents house then coming out to them about having dated all of the guys, to them “groveling” and the “friend” apologizing and i’m like. having whiplash because everything was resolved in just a few pages? there was literally no reason to even have the kind of fight they did—or at least not have it be resolved in less than 20 ish pages! What the fuck??

If mindless pure smut is your jam

Made to page 60 and that was an accomplishment. FMC POV only, nonsensical, no plot to speak but if you’re looking for all smut all the time, maybe
Wannabe near virgin romance writer sees a flyer for girlfriend for room and board, finds a shabby unkept house in a sketchy neighborhood, turns out it’s 5 gamers wanted to share a girlfriend, no discussion, no guidelines. FMC moves in they don’t know her name, dumps her stuff takes a shower, gets right to work as sex toy for hire

This book ticked all the boxes for me! Gaming, writing, close proximity, reverse harem. The characters were fun to read and learn about and I enjoyed seeing the gaming aspect being pretty forthright. The story had A LOT of spice, which is fine, but if that's not your thing, this may not be for you. The characters personalities all worked well together and it was enjoyable to watch them learn to live together while learning about each other's likes.

Overall, esports romance type stories are one of my favorite genres and add in the harem aspect, chef's kiss! Highly recommend!

This fuckass book was so nonsensical and useless I'm surprised anyone woud want to write that. To be fair, I got into it just expecting smut, but our FMC, Clarissa, has the brain of a fish in a tank. She gets mad at them (harem) when most of the time she's the one at fault??? She's egocentric (only thinks about her career/book) and even stays friends with that human trash, Sasha. The last conflict in the book happens so fast without any real talk, and it just doesn't seem realistic. Clarissa is apparently their "girlfriend" but we know fuckshit about the MMCs as individuals at the end. Where's my character development, wtf???

I had high hopes for this as ive followed along before it was finished. it could use a work through from an editor. I also wasnt expecting it to be all spice, with a cringe plot? everything was very cliche. the forgiveness at the end regardless of what the friend did gave me the ick. the lack of any communication aside from spice was a turn off. if I went into this book expecting an erotica type story I would have liked it more than I did. but I expected a well written story with plot. it had a great premise and I was expecting more from it. the ending was rushed and ended with the forgiveness for the problem that occurred. im giving it 2 stars instead of one simply because the spice was written well and I liked the premise of the book.

It was ok.
I didn’t like Sasha and didn’t find that she should have been forgiven or she was actually sorry for her behaviour.
This was all smut and no feelings for a good while so if that’s your thing you’ll like it.

🌶️ Spice: 4/5 (first spice at 10%)
⭐️ Rating: 3.5/5 (rounded up)

Pros:
- I like that it’s not a traditional sense of relationship (how they met). It’s something different which is refreshing especially reading over five hundred reverse harems in a year, it’s nice to see something new.
- I liked that it wasn’t rainbows and daisies immediately. The fact that dire situations made her accept the flyer but she wasn’t swooning over them.
- Ugh I love nerds. That’s it.🥰🖤 their nervousness and lack of experience outside of gaming just makes me swoon.🥰
- Ethan, sigh, is so adorable I cannot. He’s the nerdy sweetheart we all need.
- This book was so hot haha! The spicy scenes were abundant and I loved it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cons:
- It’s not in MPOV. For me, I usually avoid these books but I decided to try a few chapters before throwing in the towel. I do wish I had known it wasn’t MPOV before giving it a try though. It’s harder to connect with MMCs without seeing their POV (in my opinion).
- The overuse of boyfriend/girlfriend.
- Sasha.😂
- The MMC’s personalities were very similar that sometimes they’d “melt” into each other. (MPOV might have helped with this).

Middle thoughts (not a pro or con):
- These characters are naive, so if you don’t mind naive characters this will be a good one. I can’t decide whether I like it or not, personally. On one hand, they made the flyer and she accepted but they seemed clueless when it came to communicating things and jumped 100 steps into the relationship vs building it. Granted this relationship is not by any means traditional. They didn’t run into this woman or any other instalove/lust way. She took up the job through the ad they posted to be their girlfriend. But still, it just seemed callous in some instances which kind of created an odd vibe in the beginning imo! On the other hand, these guys are nerdy gamers that don’t leave their house and probably have zero communication skills and she’s an author lacking the same. So in a sense, it makes sense I suppose.

Glad I gave it a try. 📖✨

This is the first book I’ve read by Alby Blake and I really enjoyed it. I devoured this book in one day!! Clarissa is a new author struggling to find her niche in the sweet romance book world. She’s on the verge of losing her apartment, when she sees a flyer for a live in girlfriend. Housing and food provided. She thinks its crazy, but decides to check it out. One there she realizes the flower was missing a very important detail, she wouldn’t just be a girlfriend to one guy, but to five guys. Give gamer guys to be exact. She quickly runs out and realizes that this idea is crazy. However a week later when she is told if she doesn’t pay her late rent, she will be evicted. With no other choice, she returns to the gamer house, and they are excited she wants to accept their offer.

Gamers
Miles aka Thrower
Helix aka Hel
Quintin aka Arrow
Lionel aka Faker
Ethan aka Ethan

The boys waste no time testing the limits with Clarissa and soon they are enjoying some fun group activities. Clarissa decides to use her new experience as research for her new spicy book. She’s definitely doing some detailed research for her new book.

Will this relationship turn into something more than just a contract? Can they make their unconventional relationship work, even though their family, friends, and fans may not agree with their dynamic? You’ll have to read this book to find out!

5 Gamers looking to hire live in girlfriend everything included

FMC is an author who right closed door cozy romance books but they are not selling well enough so she needs to find a place to live. Enter a flier that could be the answer. Looking for a live in girlfriend only when she arrives she finds 5 gamer guys looking to share one girlfriend. She has very little experience and isn't sure she can do this. However, when she ends up having no other options but the guys who can give her the ability to just write without worry or giving up and getting a real job there is no choice.

This arrangement causes our author to decide that maybe she should switch to writing smut since it sells better. She can use her experiences to help her write. Of course the longer they are together the more she wants to know. The more she knows the more she never wants to leave.

This book is perfect with it's five gamers who love to share and enjoy adding smex toys too. They are happy to make sure she is absolutely satisfied as well as they are. This book is spicy and the guys are so sweet but also clueless nerdy boys.

I loved everything about this book except that it ended and I wanted so much more.

As my first gamer romance, I found this to be an easy, enjoyable read with lots of spice and likeable characters! From the moment Clarissa spotted that flyer to be a live-in girlfriend for five gamer guys, I was rooting for her to take the job, haha!

Clarissa had several one-liners in her inner monologue that made me laugh and were definitely on par for an innocent girl who suddenly has five guys at her disposal. I loved the presence Clarissa brought to the house; it was cute how she made them clean up after themselves, and that they eventually started doing it without having to be asked because they genuinely liked her.

The guys were adorably nerdy and each attractive in their own way, and the spice was well-written and nicely balanced between the five MMCs. For this being a Why-Choose, I thought the one-on-one scenes stood out as some of the most intimate in the book, especially with the "Artist Dates", and definitely helped build Clarissa's relationship with the group as a whole. I loved that she made an effort to spend time with each of them individually.

I was glad to see Clarissa re-united with the guys at the end! I do love a happy ending! A solid beginning for this series!

Reverse harems, hold the trauma

I found Bro, Amazing by Alby Blake thanks to TikTok, and let me just say—I’m so glad I did. As a huge fan of “why choose” stories, I’ve read my fair share of darker, morally gray reverse harems. This one? It was a refreshing breath of dorky, spicy air.
Alby Blake delivers a fun, flirty escape with plenty of laughs and some serious heat. I really appreciated the lighter tone and the sweet nerdy charm of the love interests—exactly the kind of guys I root for in real life too. It was fun to watch Clarissa’s guys each bring something different to the table, and those little glimpses into their personalities? Loved them. I just wish there had been more of that deeper character exploration.
Also, I live for sarcastic, flirty banter, and while the main character did give us a few golden moments, I found myself craving more sass and snap in her dialogue.
Overall though, this was a highly enjoyable read—light, spicy, and just the right touch of chaotic group dynamic. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on what Alby Blake writes next.

Loved it… mostly

This was my first Alby Blake novel and I really enjoyed most of it… the only part was how annoying the FMC was about recognising that she’d made a big mistake and needed to address it. Then there was the guys just doing really intense things with her and then just leaving, without any aftercare. So everyone sucked here a little bit.

Still, I did really enjoy this book, it’s the first why choose I’ve read where all the MMCs are professional gamers, so it was an enjoyable novelty.

No MM in this book, and it was all told from the FMC’s POV.

The spice was also excellent 👌

If you expect an expansive plot with rich character development after reading the blurb…. I feel sorry for you.

However, if you like free use, somnophilia, squirting, DP, and picturing whoever you want as the MMCs - YOU’RE IN LUCK!

Did i feel that the FMC was super naive for an adult romance author… well yes!
Did i think the conflict at the very end of the book could have been handled better… well yes!
Should the MMCs have had a way more in depth conversation before diving into a contractual relationship with the FMC… well yes!

However….Did i have a fun time reading this? Also yes!

Ps who needs enemies with friends like Sasha, amirite?

I gotta be honest I didn't expect to love this as much as I did when I first started. But not even 3 chapters in and I was absolutely hooked. so hooked I gave up sleep and was up till 5 am to finish lol. It's definitely a smutty read but it still has a story and characters that are more than just a body involved. They grow as both individuals and couples as the story progresses all while keeping the heat on high!!! There was a little third act breakup but it was so fast it was barely a blip in their story. Totally worth the read and the sadness at the end when you realize it's over.

This was a fantastic read! I enjoyed every second of it. the high heat, the emotional balance, and the detail where all top tier! i couldn't put it down for a second and stayed up way too late trying to finish it. i especially liked the happy ever after ending, as well as the emotional moments that really drove the plot and made the characters feel like real people. if you like high heat, this is definitely a book for you! and if your a gamer, all the better!

I think that like many comments I also share the opinion that I would have liked to see the points of view of the boys and with that it would be great to see their reaction about her being a writer, how she used them as inspiration, in addition to how she subscribed to her channel (It would have been great if I had told them), I would also have loved Clarissa to ask them many of the intimate questions that she asked herself in "being the girlfriend"

Bro amazing

Honestly, how did I get here? This was such a random book, and new experience for me. The flyer and the male leads looking for an at home girlfriend was bewildering. I still enjoyed the book even though I kept having to ask my husband wtf is going on? Lol.

But I need more

I loved this book but wished it was a bit longer😭 There were a few spelling and grammar errors so that along with the length of the book is the only reason I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars. I also just wanted to get to know the characters a bit more, little more into the boys family life’s.

why choose when you can have them all

This why choose is all about gamer boys wanting a live in girlfriend and that’s exactly what they got! This was such a great read and I was happy to be able to have been able to be an arc reader for Alby. This book has everything you are looking for and more! I can’t wait for the next one!

Great story line

Loved the story, however I felt the author rushed the story, and never really got into the depth of the characters. The ending tied everything up, (saying in this wording to not give spoilers) but again the ending was rushed. The ending had me asking so many more questions with the families, the relationships, and work.

Not a very good love story. I’m all for spice but they never connect on a truly emotional level. No plot. No true character development. Then the forced third act breakup was just 🙄🙄🙄

Actually, while writing this I just talked myself into dropping it from a 2 star to a 1. 😬 there’s just nothing to it.

Moderately spicy, cozy story about a romance author and five professional gamers. The plot is fast-paced and is an easy read. I do feel like the ending was a little rushed, but I still enjoyed the book overall.

I can’t even begin to describe how much I loved this book, as a lover of reverse harem novels, this one was a 5/5 and I couldn’t get enough by the end. The way Quintin, Helix, Ethan, Lionel and Miles helped Clarissa expand on her…preferences… was absolutely perfect.

Good if you’re looking for a book with no plot and just endless smut.

DNF’d at 25%, should have quit sooner. FMC moves into an apartment with 5 gamer guys “as a live in girlfriend” FMC moves in, takes a shower and then gets to work having sex with the boys. No plot seen. I don’t recommend this.

It was okay. Wish it could have been better though. The concept was amazing but I think they should have showed more of them getting to know and not rushing that. Would have been 5 stars if the book wasn’t all about their sexual encounters. it could have had a good mix of both.
