Uncovering You: The Complete First Boxset

Rate this book
Join Lilly and J.S. as they begin their twisted tale of love and revenge. The Uncovering You Boxed Set includes the first three, full novels of the shocking dark romance series that has captivated readers all over the world.

Book descriptions:

Uncovering You 1 - The Contract

When I wake up in a dark, unfamiliar room, I have no idea what's waiting for me in the shadows. My imagination conjures up demons of the worst kind.

Reality is much worse:

A collar with no leash. A prison with no walls. And a life stripped of meaning.

I am presented with a vile contract and asked to sign. It outlines the terms of my servitude. The only information I have about my captor are the two small letters inked at the bottom:

J.S.

Armed with only my memories, I must do everything I can to avoid becoming ensnared in his twisted mind games. But in the end, it all comes down to one choice:

Resist and die.

Or submit, and sign my life away.

Uncovering You 2 - Submission

I have survived the worst. I have come out of the darkness with my sanity intact.

Now, I get to meet the monster holding me here. For the first time since my captivity began, I get to meet Stonehart.

Whatever he wants, I'll be ready. The collar may be tight around my neck, but I will not be a prisoner.

A prisoner has no choice. A prisoner has no purpose.

But a concubine, on the other hand? She always has a choice.

And today, I choose to fight.

Uncovering You 3 - Resistance

Jeremy Stonehart is a cruel, vindictive man. He wants me to submit. He wants me to give in.

I will never give in. I will never yield. No matter what he subjects me to, I will always fight.

I will not forget my resolve.

Let Stonehart think me broken. I am not so easily deterred as that. No matter what he puts me

through, I will always remember my own strength. I will always remember that in the end, I have control of the one thing he really wants:

My mind.

I will never give him that.

I will resist.

These books contain scenes of intense emotional and physical cruelty. Readers with sensitivity to such subjects are advised to proceed with caution.

First of all, I should say that I got this boxed set for free with my kindle unlimited account. Had I merely followed the first few reviews on Amazon, I probably wouldn't have gotten it; the kindle unlimited offer allowed me to try it for no cost. And that would have been my loss had I not done so. But I begin to get ahead of myself.

This is, as has been previously stated, a serial. This bundle is the first three of six. The next two parts (I am currently reading the fourth) are available for $2.51 each, a rather steep price for a small part of an e-novel. The author is utilizing/responding to reader feedback in her writing, which is an interesting idea. However one feels about these ideas (I tend to dislike serials, though I don't mind series, and I read a tremendous amount and don't care to pay more than I have to), these opinions say little about the purpose of a a review (IMO)--the story and the writing.

Is the author effective in her craft? Well, yes she is. She captured my attention from the first page and I read it through. Do I like the characters? No, not really, but they fascinate me. I want to know what happens next. I want to know why. I want to discover whether the male protagonist is truly a sociopathic egotist or if there is a reason that he acts as he does. I want to find out if she gets out of this situation and how. I want to know more. And that keeps me coming back for more.

Do I recommend this bundle? Oh, yeah.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the story--I'll have the fourth and fifth installments finished this afternoon. Then I'll just have to wait for the sixth.

I hate waiting.

This was so damned dark and twisted. I've read quite a few dark `romance` series but for this there are just no words.

I expected Jeremy to have something redeeming in him that would show some humanity but he is simply a monster. Unlike other similar captive stories, I'm not rooting for them to somehow make it together and find common ground, I'm rooting for Lilly and her alone. I hope she destroys him and all he holds dear.

She is so strong and I really hope she survives this. I have an awful feeling that she isn't going to make it out of this alive.

I can't wait to read the next instalments and see where this series ends.

Superb story, but not for the feint hearted.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't this.

Lily thought she had everything going for her.
New job, amazing project for a very prestigious form and an apartment to go with it.
What more could she want?I

But then the project falls through and she's given severance.
That means no job and no apartment.

Then she gets the call. Jeremy Stonehart wants to see her.
He's the CEO of the company she was doing the project for.
Their meetings don't go as well as she'd hoped, or so she thought.
He storms out of the restaurant, when she is 18 minutes late.

But their connection doesn't stop there.

Lily wakes up in a darkened room, resting against a pillar with a collar round her neck.
Jeremy is cold, ruthless and heartless. He will take and Lily must give. He just doesn't care if she gives willingly.

What ensues really isn't for the feint hearted.

Almost from the get go, there is physical and emotional cruelty and there are scenes of sexual abuse throughout.

But saying that, it is well written and you are drawn into the drama from page one.

the first book i thought was quite slow but I soon got into it and as I read the other books I became hooked and could stop reading.  This is the first time ive read anything by this author and i would read her books again

I dont know what stonehart wants from lilly as sometimes he seems nice and dare I say caring about her and other times he is so cruel that I hate him myself but the story is compelling.  When I began reading this boxset I thought that would be it and it would end after the trilogy but no it doesn't as there are 10 books in this series and I literally want to pull my hair out right now because I literally have to read the rest just to find out what happens with lilly and stonehart. I'm hoping there is a HEA

These books are dark and have triggers

Would have rated it more but I’m disappointed about the book lengths. When the book was advertised as a “complete” book set I did not expect to have to buy anymore. And now I’ve seen it’s a 12 part story I’m really annoyed. I hate it when authors do this just to make more money. It’s annoying and unfair to readers. The books itself I kind of liked, still can’t make my mind up whether I like either of the main characters to be perfectly honest. The plot seems a little jarred at times. I might read the next book and see if it improves but it will depend on the following book prices as I’m not looking to waste my money on tiny read-in-an-hour-or-two stories.

If you like reading about rape & Stockholm syndrome.....

The author should be ashamed of herself!!! Its awesome how people can write a scenario where the h is raped like its nothing !! I went through the blurbs of the next 8, yes EIGHT books which are far TOO expensive for the page lengths & she falls in love with a sick, pervert who 98% of the time treats her like a common whore!

Doesn't waste your money!!!

Uncovering You.

I enjoyed this read immensely it kept me guessing all the way through. What a scared main character the male is and the female has such a good brain it took her a long time to figure out how to play him. Not always to her advantage I hasten to add but tiny steps can go on a long journey

Jeremy Stonehart was intense

This man has went through a lot of effort to steal this female from her life. He has spent a lot of money to control this one woman. He must really want Lilly. But what an utter ass he is! I cannot believe how he treats her. Jeremy is an insane sociopath. All I can think is that he will have Lilly for his wife by the end of this series.

Great book

Darkly disturbing, domination, submission, kidnapping, slavery, this is a very dark erotic story. You are led to believe, what happens now somehow is connected to what happened in the past. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Okay read

This was not too bad of a read, new author for me to try out. Would like to read the rest of the series.
The only problem i have is that the 3 books in this series start up, is too short for me. Could have easily fit into one book

Hard to put down

This book was a little confusing at first but you have to remember it goes back and forth to past and present, you feel Lily’s sense of well-being and the confusion, but she is a strong lady,
I will be reading all the other box sets now

Before you begin this journey be aware that this is a story comprised of eleven installments. Each installment is sold separately and can be quite pricey. Not to mention they are chapters not books being released as installments. Each chapter contains about 150 Pages of nonsense. Virtually no relevant information or depth will fill the pages of each chapter. You will be dragged along a long and arduous journey with very little substance.
Part one was a brutal read. Im dreading reading any more, but I'm determined and hopeful that it will improve. The preview gave me the impression I would be reading a dark story but it was not. Lilly's situation was anything but dire. She woke up in a lavish home against a pillar with clothes on her body.
I'm growing bored and impatient with the beginning of this story. It's not moving at a pace that interests me.
The story is about a contract made by JS to Lilly. By signing the contract, Lilly agrees to be his sex slave for five years. It's predictable. I've read plenty of sex slave stories and when you find one that meets your needs and goes beyond your expectations there is no need to search any further. This one is mediocre at best.
The author did not illustrate the situation Lilly woke up in very clearly. She's in a room and given food with a contract to sign. Lilly remains in the room untouched for two weeks until she signs the contract. I wish the author had created a more eerie feeling to being held captive. The story needs more fear.
Lilly comes across as naive, immature, and selfish. Lilly is trying to pinpoint the timeframe in which she changed the course of her life. Saying that Lilly is strong and determined to change her future only works if the author can back that up with words. So far the only words printed are her complaining about being homeless, jobless, and broke.

Part two is ludicrous. Jeremy trains Lilly as if she is a pet with boundaries, collars, and punishment for disobeying. The only form of punishment is malnutrition which Lilly chose for herself. For a woman who claimed she was strong she caved in the end by signing the contract. Bravo! Lilly you managed to figure out who had been holding you captive. The story moves along at a snails pace because it is bogged down with every minute detail. The author outlines each step taken by Lilly. Yet these details don't add to the story. Jeremy shows his controlling and dominating side. Lilly is learning her boundaries. The contract is elaborated upon in this portion to show some rewards that can be earned and privileges earned.

Part three is a repetition of part one and two. It's as if Lilly took a few steps back to reevaluate her situation. The author wants you to believe at this stage of the arrangement that Lilly is beginning to have Stockholm syndrome. Once again writing the words is only convincing if you choose your words carefully by making me believe them. The words are not written in a manner that I believe. Every time Jeremy leaves Lilly a note she acts immature by crumbling it up. She is overthinking this game.

1.5 stars *
Being honest, I probably will try out the next book in this series but mainly just because I want to know what's actually going on and if she's going to get out.
Given the 1.5 star rating I have to say it was just about decent. 'Decent' is a really good word for these first three books, and honestly had I stopped when I wanted to (probably not even halfway into book one) I don't even think it deserved a star. I was utterly bored and there was just a lot of confusion and random flash backs. I totally understand confusion being necessary, I mean I get she's been kidnapped bla bla, but there were SO many plot holes and just repeated emptiness. I like mystery and confusion, but there was literally NOTHING happening bar some food arriving and her not signing the contract.

Anyway, when more human contact was introduced I was a little more interested, but there was so much being written but of nothing? I literally don't understand what was being written about because I feel like nothing was happening. Honestly I think this all could have been squeezed into idk say 150 pages? And then more as a continuation to the same book.

I have to admit to kind of liking the main character - she had "spunk" as the weird psychopathic kidnapping rapist put it. I also like her determination, and really just how much she tried to spite him. Unfortunately, since there was only really three characters in the book and one of them was so stupidly unlikeable I wanted to punch something, and the other is untrustworthy and confusing, I suppose to read the book(s) you do have to try and find solace in at least ONE thing.

As I said, I probably will try and keep going with these books but they won't be an essential, and it's debatable whether I'll even continue after the next. Oh well, it was an experience, to say the least... Haha

A real game of the mind, this story contains both emotional and physical abuse with the intent of owning someone completely.

Lily is a smart, ambitious young woman who has worked her way into a bright future or so she thought. When she wakes up alone in the dark with a collar around her neck she has no idea how she got there. Forced to sign a contract basically signing her body & life away Lily decides to bide her time and play the game of her twisted captor until she can break free.

After signing and discovering that her captor is Jeremy Stonehart, Lily tries to piece together the puzzle of how she came to be in this situation in the first place. How much of her life so far has been a lie and why was she chosen in the to begin with? One thing she knows for sure is she is stronger than Jeremy can imagine and while he may own her body he can never own her mind - and that is why she knows she will win.

The game of power and manipulation begins between the two and just when you think you see a glimpse of kindness in Jeremy his personality does a complete 360 turn and the vindictive man re-emerges. Lily plays her part as best she can to appease Jeremy while trying to find a way out but she needs more information if she wants to win the battle of the minds.

Although I've only read the first three instalments of this Series I think it would have been better if it was one book or maybe two instead of a series, only because of the complexity of the characters. Either way though, so far it is an enjoyable dark and raw series that has left me wanting more!!!

This boxset was completely different than I expected. It's different, it's dark, it's captivating, it keeps you wanting more and makes me wonder who is crazier, her or him. Usually when you read a novella it doesn't have much meat to the story in such little time. Not this series. This series is full of meat. It doesn't have the fluff you expect in a novella. Scarlett Edwards captures so much in these stories and into the characters. I've been captivated since the start of book one and it's had me from there. I can't wait to find out what's next. I've got so many questions and hope as the series goes on I'll get the answers. Who is Rose? I've questioned Lilly's judgement many times. Is she interested in Mr. Crazy or does she have Stockholm's? Does he have multiple personalities? My question are starting to pile up so I'm really hoping to get some answers soon. I can't wait to read more and either find out answers to my questions or will they add up.
