This book's ending is where the juice you've been looking for finally comes gushing out of the pages. It was a fantastic ending: the characters come alive, and the reveal of Serrik's true form was everything I had hoped it would be. But the journey to get there has so much untapped potential. We spend a lot of time with side characters, some of which we know, but they are terribly flat. Instead of developing the characters, the author uses dialogue to transparently explain away motivations, rather than using plot to show us who these characters are and add depth to the dilemmas our MCs are experiencing. I love the worlds and the dark villain romances that Kingsley creates. I wish there had been less exposition and more breadcrumbing to make me hungry to figure out the characters and relate to them.

The story is still entertaining and familiar for the KAK reader, and the spice excellent, but there is not a lot of it, so this book relies heavily on the times in between to keep the plot engaging. It's not binge-worthy, but decent, and the cliffhanger at the end definitely makes me want to read the final book. I suspect that the next one will have a lot more life in it because there is so much to resolve, and finally all the characters are in one place.

“You feel it now, don't you?” he whispered, his voice muffled against her throat, sending shivers cascading down her spine. “The relief…of finally letting go. Of admitting you are prey.”

I NEED MORE! I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER WTF!!!!

The plot twist had me in shambles! I always expect Kathryn Ann Kingsley to leave me a litle shattered but I never know how she is going to do it.

I really liked the main characters, but the side characters felt a bit stiff for me (), but bringing back the past characters was the move! It was like my own version of fan-fic! I live for Puck, and I love seeing the villainous Valroy in other POVs! Another spoiler has to be that

could-not-finish
October 20, 2025
Nope. I can't finish this. I honestly tried, but there's only so much fae fuckery I can take and I've reached my limit at about 50%.

My main issue was the lack of chemistry between Ava and Serrik. Their attraction was based on their bond and....fascination? At least on her part. Which would've been fine but their kink is consensual non-consent and that's not my jam. And that's while both of them are human shaped, I don't even want to imagine future scenes. Spiders are absolutely not sexy for me, in no way, shape or form.
Apparently not even my favourite author can make me overcome my limits.

So I tried to keep reading for the plot, because I do want to see how it plays out. Also, Ava is freaking hilarious and her inner monologue is awesome, but not even that could motivate me for long.
I'm not a fan of the plans and riddles of the fae, the way everyone knew stuff but wasn't telling her and she had to just plot along until she could finally find out the thing everybody already knew.
Tiresome.

So, to my eternal regret and disappointment, I have to give up on this series.

“Welcome back, little Weaver.”

This book was everything. Kathryn Ann Kingsley doesn’t just write books, she crafts worlds that pull you in like a web you never want to leave. I loved the chaos this book brought to the world I know and love.

Ava is powerful, not only is she literally changing, but you see her change she takes everything head on, she is badass. And Serrik, Whew. That man can haunt my dreams anytime. This book turned up the heat and damn did I enjoy it. Valroy and Abigail made a fierce return, and I loved seeing their power and complexity shine here. But Bitty my sweet, scrappy fave stole my heart.

That ending blew my mind. Ava and Serrik…please, please give my girl that HEA. My whole soul is rooting for them and their continued spice… I’m so ready for Book 3 and whatever glorious destruction comes next.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! Once again, another book that I thoroughly enjoyed. In The Unseelie Court, we pick up right where we left off in book 1, and from there it’s just one revelation after another for poor Ava. I liked that in my head I had an idea of how I thought things would play out, and in reality it went wayyy different! Kathryn is great at keeping you on your toes! Ava learns about a lot of unpleasant things over a fairly short timeframe, but I feel that she handled it like a boss. I am also so ready to see and hear more of Serrik.

The snark and banter were perfect 🤌🏼 and I loved the honorable mention . I loved the spice 🌶️🥵. I felt the “pace” of the book was great, no part of the book felt like it was dragging, and it just pulls you in and keeps you engrossed in the story. Be warned, The Unseelie Court ends on a CRAZY cliffhanger that’ll have you screaming for the next book!

100/10 ⭐️ 🖤

I absolutely devoured this book! "The Unseelie Court" was such a thrilling and captivating read — I couldn't put it down. The world, the tension, the characters… everything just pulled me in even deeper than the first book.

That twist at the end? My jaw was on the floor. I did not see that coming, and I loved every second of it. Kat truly outdid herself with this one. Her storytelling is absolutely stunning, and this installment was nothing short of brilliant.

I’m already counting down the days until the final book. I need to know what happens next!

This was an amazing continuation of the Unseelie Exile. Ava is such a badass who does not deal with bullshit and she makes it known. Serrik is just to die for, honestly. Never thought I'd love a spider fae so much, but here we are! It was amazing to see other characters from other books by the author show up! I encourage you to read the Maze of Shadows series, The Unseelie Duke, and The Unseelie Wish, it will bring the world together for you. Also, the spice definitely starts spicing in this book! I will forever read anything Kathryn Ann Kingsley writes. ❣️

I love Serrik so much!

The story is super intriguing. It dragged a little at a time, but picked back up again, so 4 stars it is. I think this series might be my favorite of Kathryn Ann Kingsley's fae series!

Geezus Christ!

Well, that was emotionally damaging 💔 Another great book in the series though. I enjoyed seeing characters from the other books and how they were interacting with Valroy's court. I definitely will be reading the next book with that cliffy - I NEED to know what's happening after all the chaos that happened at the end.

So twisty and turns! BOOM! I loved that this book brings us back to the Unseelie court and Valroy. Legit my favorite character that Kat has ever written. Serrik is turning into an absolute cinnamon roll and I'm here for it. This book was fast paced and left us on an absolute cliffy. Make with the next book!

The twist was insane and the ending 🫢 I read the last 50% in the dark because the power is out and I was listening to Faye Webster throughout and wow this book was an experience. I don’t know if I can wait for the third book. Kathryn Ann Kingsley is getting too good 😭

I love this world so much and I am definitely hooked. The only thing is it got a bit repetitive in this book. Ava was SO clueless! Can’t wait for the next one as there’s going to be more of my fave character Serrik.

I loved it!!! Ahhhh so good!! Can’t wait for the last installment and more of spider Serrik, I think he’s my fave of KaK’s villains. If you like mind bending stories, monsters, dream spice and a dash of mythology you will love this!

Hooray for Kingsley’s Fae

Kingsley’s fae are terrifyingly beautiful and darkly sensuous. Here scenic descriptions, and favorable characters, specifically her heroines are a joy to read. I can’t wait until the next one!

Interesting

An interesting plot twist. It just took too much time to be made. The story is okay but there was no need for three books so it would be told. Also the "they won't tell me" was tiring after a while.
