Robert Kirkman is an American comic book writer best known for his work on The Walking Dead, Invincible for Image Comics, as well as Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. He has also collaborated with Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane on the series Haunt. He is one of the five partners of Image Comics, and the only one of the five who was not one of the original co-founders of that publisher.
Robert Kirkman's first comic books were self-published under his own Funk-o-Tron label. Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. Battle Pope ran for over 2 years along with other Funk-o-Tron published books such as InkPunks and Double Take.
In July of 2002, Robert's first work for another company began, with a 4-part SuperPatriot series for Image, along with Battle Pope backup story artist Cory Walker. Robert's creator-owned projects followed shortly thereafter, including Tech Jacket, Invincible and Walking Dead.
Very violent, so violent it almost became boring how much fighting it had. Nevertheless, all the action that happened, I could feel. That’s not typical for superhero comics, usually they just hit each other in the face and they and we readers don’t really feel anything. This comics makes it differently. Which is a good thing, unless almost the whole book is just that. But when the fighting was put on the side, the drama parts still lifts this comics above many other comics. This hits hard, physically and emotionally. I just wish this book would have had balanced those things better. That being said, this is still a great series.
Some of the action felt repetitive, and certainly ends up going beyond the suspension of disbelief, but that being said, it is certainly an epic volume. I do prefer how the show re-ordered the end of this volume, as well as the pacing of the war (mainly the re-fight against Conquest, and destroying Viltrum). All that being said, this is a solid 9/10 volume.
Im now caught up with the show, and looking forward to continuing on without knowing what's ahead.

The Viltrumite War Begins and it was an absolute blast to read. While I admit I am spoiling the tv series I am excited to see what happens. This was a great selection of issues.
Apparently the comic shop I went to got this early and just put it on the shelf cause I read this a week ago almost and it’s not supposed to be released until February. So that’s pretty cool
