This is my favorite of the arcs so far, in no small part because the "Yu" this time is a delightful, high energy gyaru. The story also seems to be doing interesting things with the Disney film, and I'm curious to see what Kalim's deal is.

Another new Book, another new Yu, and another look at some more Twisted Wonderland friends.

I still find it odd that the individual Books are chronological, but they all seem to be being produced at the same time. Savanaclaw and Octavinelle still aren't done in English yet, but we're already moving on, so we can kind of assume what happens at the ends of those Books already. It's nothing groundbreaking, since the plots aren't exactly END OF THE WORLD levels of worrisome for the characters, but it does make me wonder.

My main issue with this volume so far is that it's very obvious what's happening, I think. I'm all for a good mystery, or a problem to overcome, but this story seems like it's already signposted everywhere we're going to go before the end, and we're only four chapters in. Hopefully it proves me wrong.

So... I might be biased here as Scarabia is my favorite dorm.

With that Yuuna is a blast, Kalim's a blast, and Jamil is tired.

I enjoyed how expressive everyone was and we got a lot of full art pages. I also didn't find any glaring issues with translations this time around (I read the official EN translation).

For being the first book, it was a rushed beginning, chaotic middle and cliffhanger end. In way of explanations, you get a quick run down of random things the main character has already done. Then you jump into a story with similarities and hints of which Disney story it follows. And the main character is a total ditz.

I always liked the Yu for this arc, but actually getting to read the book made me like her more. She's so cute! So many cute and funny faces. I like how she interacts with Grim and everybody

The artwork is stunning in this

I think this might be my favorite Twisted Wonderland manga yet!

And I had to think hard as to why that was when I've loved ALL of the manga so far! LOL!

It ultimately came down to two reasons because I feel each manga has adapted the game extremely well (with this series no exception!), and the first one is the art. Now I have loved the art of the previous series as well, but hear me out, did anyone else reading this get some shoujo vibes from the art?? Because all the characters have such a softness to them that I completely gobbled it up!

Did Jade and Floyd look and act scary? Sure.

Does Kalim look pretty creepy when Jamil [insert spoilers here]? He does.

But even with that, I just found this overall softness where people had eyelashes (yes, and they are right pretty if I might add LOL) and less "darkness" on page that really felt grounding for me as a shoujo reader. Throw in Kalim's mega watt smiles, and my heart felt like it was melting with happiness at another really great adaptation of a game I deeply love!

That also leads me to say and tie it in with our sweet Yu! I LOVE gyaru characters so much! Always have and always will, and she is everything! I loved how her character was brought to life and how it just fit SO well for this part of the story because she and Kalim would be besties if a certain character wasn't doing shady stuff!

She brings her own kind of energy, and loved how we got a connection with her early on in hearing her dreams, how she reacts to Crowley's "generous" help, and how close she and Grim are. I've enjoyed all the other Yu's, but I can say that she is easily my favorite and enjoyed seeing her on page so much!

I will also mention that some of the specific Aladdin-inspired scenes were absolutely magical, and I couldn't help but feel I was being swept away to a whole new world, too! Hehe!

I am VERY excited for the next volume! I don't know when it's supposed to release, but I will definitely be picking it up with much enthusiasm and recommending it to fans of these characters and the game!

Is it just me or did Majiko draw Ace looking more pathetic than usual in this one? I love it so much lol
