Dovetailing the previous volume's journalistic sidestep with the regular cop cast, 2000AD's best current series continues with what's supposed to be a.quiet layover on the trip to the real investigation, but clearly doesn't stay that way or we wouldn't be reading about it. Amazing that a story which takes such worn-out tropes as serial killers and suspect local police departments, and makes them feel this vital, could be coming from the same writer, at the same time, as the exasperating Azimuth, in which a world of infinite possibilities is somehow rendered infinitely tedious.
