Collateral Damage: Devious Delights Book Two

Rate this book
Cooper King was my best friend. Now, I barely recognize him.

Polished. Ruthless. And nothing like the boy I left behind.

What did I expect? I broke him when I walked away—ending my engagement to his brother and choosing my family over them both.

But life has thrown us back together, and he’s not here to play nice.

He wants me.

My company. My time. My body.

He thinks I’m still the girl he knew, but I have a greater legacy to protect. Getting close to Cooper risks secrets I’m not ready to face—and a heart I’m not willing to give.

Collateral Damage is the second in the Devious Delights series of interconnected standalones inspired by William Shakespeare’s timeless tragedies.

Yall… I finally got my hands on the ARC for Collateral Damage and it DID NOT disappoint!!!!

This is the second book in the Devious Delights series by the goddess Nina Verona.

Collateral Damage follows Cooper and Sybil and their story which was holy hell good!

-enemies to lovers
-forced proximity
-billionaire romance
-betrayal
-SPICYYYYYYY 🔥🔥

I will say that this book surprised the hell out of me. Hearing the back story of Cooper and all his tragedies and also, Sybil who has had her fair share of trauma.

You need to read these books, make sure you read the first one!!!

I may come back and add more to this review as I process.. but wow. Just W O W. I loved book 1.. obsessed actually lol. But, the way Cooper and Sybil absolutely stole my heart is unmatched. Crushed by Love ATE and left no crumbs… Collateral Damage absolutely DEVOURED and left not a single microscopic particle. 10/10 read… 15/10 honestly. Just when I thought I had the plot twist figured out or saw the foreshadowing for the end… I was so wrong lol. The last 25% of this book was an entire rollercoaster ride that I’ll gladly get on over and over again. Friends.. to enemies.. to lovers. Sign me up. IMMEDIATELY yes. I will always be a Nina stan. Point blank period. 👏🏼 I WILL TAKE NO CRITICISM ON THIS SERIES. THANK YOU. 👏🏼 😍🥰❤️

I waited to read book two, and it was worth the wait to see what happened between Sybil and Cooper. So much happened between the two families. Twists had me in a chokehold for the last 20 chapters of the book, which made it impossible for me to put the book down until I stayed up until 3 am finishing it.

It was worth losing sleep to read the ending. Just when I thought it would have a Happy Ever After with all the drama and twists, unexpected things seem to work out, showing that even when you love, hate, and grieve, those inner wounds don't keep you from loving someone and being everything to them.

This book had a lot of push and pull by both MCs. I loved the connection to the first book but I couldn’t tell for most of the story who the villain was because both MCs had major faults. Both Cooper and Sybil had been affected by the tragedies in the first book but to see how the family was manipulated and some of the surprise twists I felt bad (even for Cooper). While it is an HEA at the end the couple goes through so much to become friends and lovers that I had some low emotions during the book. Overall a good story but lots of drama to keep the reader hooked!

The way cooper PINED and YEARNED for Sybil for yearsssss 😭 omg it was perfection. I loved Sybil so much too. I thought the push/pull between them was so well done. Will be thinking about them for a long time!

Nina, this release was a total surprise and it made my absolute month!! I adore your writing. Connor and Sybil's story was such a great read and brought the duology to a beautiful, bittersweet end. Can't wait to see more of your work!

childhood friends turned enemies to lovers ughhh I'm in love. Nina has done it again with Cooper and Sybil's story. I love the way she writes and the little twists and turns you get in her books. Highly recommend the series to anyone!
