What if it was all real?
What if all the books you read, all the realms you visited in your mind actually existed, just outside of our awareness?
Seren is a lonely 30-something woman living in small-town England who doesn't have much to live for, so when she curiously follows two beautiful strangers into a forest, getting kidnapped isn't actually the worst part of her week.
When she awakens in a strange, yet oddly familiar place, Seren quickly realises that she has fallen into one of her romantasy novels. With beautiful Fae (both male and female) taking a special interest in her, she finds surprising friendships and realises that she has the opportunity to become the female main character in her very own fairy tale.
However, the magic is fading, and evil rules the Fae realm. Seren's new friends are struggling, and she wants to help - and as the main character, she expects there to be some magical reason for her being there. Is she the subject of an ancient prophecy? Does she have hidden magic? Or is she the fated mate of a Prince?
Not all is as it seems, though. Seren needs to work out how she can help her friends and lovers - but how can she, when she is Just A Girl?

This is BLOODY FANTASTIC! An inciteful, intriguing and modern approach to a classic fantasy story! Human/Fae relationships, lots of SPICE and a fantastic story.... I really hope there's at least one more book in this story because I need to know what happens next!!! Highly Recommend!!!!!!

Seren, a 30-something slightly Neurotic single woman, is thinking of ending it all. Until, whilst pondering her existence on a park bench, a strange dog appears seemingly out of thin air.
Cue a hilarious romp through a fantasy land with horny fae and creatures who may or may not be what they appear to be.
This humorous entry-level take on the fantasy genre is perfect for readers who don't always want something heavy or readers new to the genre who aren't looking for dramatic world building and lengthy battles.
There are some truly hilarious moments, and the inner thoughts of the heroine made me think of if Bridget Jones fell down the rabbit hole.
I look forward to Nikki Taylor's future work.

⭐ 2.5 Stars
I see the vision, but this one just wasn’t for me.
There was a bit too much modern-day energy for my taste. The constant pop culture and bookish references (ACOTAR, BookTok, etc.) pulled me out of the story more than they added to it. At one point, it felt like every other sentence was name-dropping another series or trope. That might be someone else’s vibe, and that’s totally fine, but it didn’t work for me.
The writing itself was solid. It was easy to read and follow, and the overall premise had potential. I actually appreciated that the FMC wasn’t secretly powerful or royalty (at least not yet). She’s just a regular girl, and that felt refreshing. The MMC didn’t really grab me though. I wanted to see more of his personality shine. He came across a little flat.
Overall, if this is your speed I think you will enjoy it, it just wasn't for me. I think I would have enjoyed this a little more if it was a modern day story line without all of the references. There were quotes from popular books referenced, and even a random, though nameless, character from ACOTAR that made an appearance toward the end. Which also worries me in reference to copyrights. (I obviously don't know the laws, but just a concern.)

There are three separate open-door scenes, but no penetration. We see both F/F and F/M & not in the same setting. Mostly third base energy. The scenes are short and not overly detailed. Just enough spice to raise the heat before easing back into the plot, which I appreciated.

Took me several days to get this far, the book just wasn't for me.
The writing style was hard work, although the story was interesting.
There were so many references to other book, TV, music etc, far more than I've read in any other book, and it put me off as I had no idea what the reference was half the time.
I found the FMC younger than she was supposed to be, she felt closer to 18 than in her 30's.
I hadn't realised it was also FF, and MF as there were no content warnings.

I can honestly say I have never read a romantasy quite like this. As a writer myself I struggle to read but this book sucked me in and spat me out, leaving me wanting so much more!!! It’s so relatable and every 30+ woman’s dream! The writing style is amazing and the story has you hooked!!! Absolutely loved it!

Amazing
I didn’t really know what to expect when I opened this book but I was absoIutely blown away! Seren is quick witted and a very sassy, clumsy FMC you can't help but love.
Strong shout out to Aries for being the best side character I've read in a long while.
A strong debut from Taylor and I can't wait to see what she does next!

I absolutely loved everything about this book. An engaging story that was so well written, I was reading into the night and couldn’t stop. Please tell me there’s more coming for Seren, Nikki Taylor?
