One night.
A chance encounter.
Chemistry hot enough to melt the ice.

Eavie Adams' hard work has finally paid off when she is offered the promotion she has been working towards for the last few years with the Toronto Royals, her city's professional hockey team. She's never been more ready to take on the next stage of her career, and there's nothing she would allow to stand in the way - especially not the team's hot captain Jax Morghan.

If only he didn't heat her blood or hold her attention like no other man has. Too bad he's strictly off-limits. Crossing that line could cost her career.

Meeting women was definitely not a problem for Toronto Royals captain, star, and devilishly handsome Jax Morghan. Meeting women that he's willing to give his heart to? That was another story.

With one last night out with his team before the season starts, a chance encounter with the gorgeous, mysterious Cinderella he almost hooked up with at the bar will not escape his mind.

When she turns up at his rink as the new assistant to the General Manager, he's determined to make a power play that will melt her icy exterior that's protecting her reputation.

I got the opportunity to read this AMAZING book in advance as an ARC and i am so happy. I can’t thank enough the author for her trust.

That slow burn sport romance is simply incredible. I loved the character of Eavie. The confidence she has about herself and how she won’t let past experience lead the way of her life is simply amazing.

Jax, this broken men, has to learn how to love again. Will he be able to get past how his last relationship left him broken ? You have to read it to found out.

Tension is rising throughout the chapters and starting chapter 29, i hope you like roller costers because you will be at the edge of your seat until the end.

As of July 25, 2025, i urge you to buy that book. I will buy my own copy and read that story again.

One last thing. Since I’m in love with Toronto, i really loved been back there and i could see, in my head all the scenary. A five stars read for me :)

Loved this! The yearning and the tension had me from the very start. I don’t normally read hockey romances (more of a romantasy girl), but I read the ARC of this and it exceeded my expectations and had me reading the last 75 pages under my desk at work, desperate to find out the ending, unable to put it down. It’s the writer’s first book, so she is still finding her footing, but I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with!

The story in this book 100% lives up to its name.
When the hockey team captain meets the teams GMs assistant, what else can you say except…. HOT!

If you’re wanting a slow burn , that will burn your kindle when the spice starts hitting the pages, this is it, the ice rinks in this book can’t even cool it off!!

The chemistry Jax and Eavie have is unmatched, and the forbiddeness makes it that much better. Every chapter I read I was so ready for them to finally admit how they felt, and when everything happened I was kicking my feet. I loved how much support they had from friends, family, coworkers and teammates, I think it really helped them see that what they had is real and needs to be explored. The past relationship trauma they shared made my heart hurt for them, I was so happy they got their happily ever after. Shoutout to Sam and the rink boards, because my heart was hurting!

I would love to see what their life looks like further into the future and after Jax retires. He gives such girl dad energy and I hope we get to see some of the future they built together.

Thank you Elizabeth for giving me the oppurtunity to read your debut book it was an honour. I can’t wait to see where this world takes you and how your writing develops.

Loved this debut novel! I was so lucky to receive an ARC, thank you!

Reputation is more than just a spicy romance there’s real heart here ♥️ Funny moments, heartfelt moments and moments of growth.

The banter and tension was immediate. The energy/draw between the FMC Eavie and the MMC Jax was thickkkk 🤭🥵 Eavie is independent and driven but has built up walls. Jax is a total sweetheart you will love immediately but he’s also built up walls and his persona as a professional hockey player/womanizer is all people know.

With Eavie’s new job for the same professional hockey team she knows this man is off limits. No fooling around is worth messing up her career and reputation! But just maybe… Jax is more than what the public sees. And maybe these two hurt hearts can heal and love each other.

We get a spark right away, but the burn is slow! And man is it worth it! The attraction can’t be denied and they both start to see each other for more than the masks they’ve put on to protect themselves. When the spice hits, it hits! 🔥 the banter and sweetness just elevate it. Jax is the kind of MMC you want and root for.

It’s everything you want in a hockey romance 🥰 can’t wait to see what she does next.

ARC Review
4/5 | Spice: 3/5
Hockey Romance | Workplace Romance
He Falls First | Dual POV | Banter & Chemistry | Healing from the Past

Elizabeth Sharp’s debut did not disappoint! Her writing is sharp (pun intended), emotional, and addictive, I immediately connected with these characters on a deeper level. Their chemistry is electric. The slow burn builds with perfectly timed tension, and when the spice finally hits? It hits you’ll be clutching the book and whispering “just one more chapter…”.

What I loved most is how layered both Eavie and Jax are. Their emotional depth and backstories made the romance feel earned not just lust, but real growth and healing too.
Also… can we talk about the side characters?! Eavie’s best friend Joyce and her brother Eric totally stole the show manifesting a book for those two next.

Yes, it starts a little slow, but once I hit the 60% mark I flew through it. I didn’t want it to end.

If you’re craving:
A hockey romance with real heart
Banter, chemistry, and slow burn spice
Healing arcs and unforgettable side characters

Okay, this was SUCH a fun read! Elizabeth Sharp’s debut, Reputation, had some of my favorite tropes that pulled me right in:
🩵 Hockey romance
🩵 Workplace/forbidden romance
🩵 Forced proximity

I loved Eavie, she is smart, driven, and kind-hearted (with a dash of sass ❤️‍🔥). She has an instant connection with Jax (who is very persuasive) but due to him being *~off-limits~*, we are forced to bear the slowwww burnnnn🔥

I enjoyed the build up and ultimately couldn’t put this book down in the second half. The dual POV was great, and I found there was just the right balance between plot and romance (which was was spi-cyyy!!).

As a Canadian that’s lived in Toronto, I also very much enjoyed all the city/hockey team references. Catching them is not necessary to be immersed in the story, but were a fun added bonus for anyone that does.

I look forward to seeing where the Toronto Royals series goes next!

Huge thank you to author.sharp for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review! 💙

Reputation – Elizabeth Sharp

If you love forbidden workplace romance with a steamy edge and hockey heat, Reputation delivers exactly that.

Eavie Adams is a woman you instantly root for—ambitious, driven, and finally getting the promotion she’s worked so hard for. Enter Jax Morghan: hockey captain, notorious heartbreaker, and the one man who could derail everything she’s built. Their chemistry is electric from the very first encounter, and watching them try (and fail) to fight it had me turning pages fast.

This book brings the perfect mix of flirty banter, emotional tension, and professional stakes. Jax is that irresistible mix of cocky and vulnerable, and I loved seeing his layers peel back as he fell hard for the one woman he couldn’t have.

The only reason it’s not a full five stars? I wanted just a little more emotional depth or complication to push the stakes even higher. But honestly, I still couldn’t put it down. It’s a fun, fast-paced romance that will melt your heart—and maybe your kindle.

A perfect pick for hockey romance lovers, fans of forbidden tension, and anyone who swoons for a man determined to win over the woman who thinks she can resist him.

I had a love hate relationship with this book…hahaha…
I loved the storyline! The storyline was solid and interesting. The supporting characters were strong but didn’t overtake the main characters.
This book should take first place for the slow burn trope…it was the slow burn of all slow burns!!! The longing the pinning, everything!
I thought that this book was long, I think it felt so long because the slow burn/wanting/yearning was written so well.
For the writing, the book was written in ‘third person’ unless they are speaking, so it took a little for me to figure it out and once I understood that’s how it was written it was a good read. What I mean by ‘third person’ is that instead of writing it as ‘I thought…’ it was written as ‘Jax thought…’, which is fine but took a bit to get use to.
I really enjoyed the depth of the intricate scenes.
If you are looking for a book that is a slow burn make sure to add this one to your TBR!

*I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, this is my personal and truthful review.

A fantastic debut novel that hits all the right notes!

This spicy, slow-burn hockey romance had me hooked from the start. Eavie and Jax have what should’ve been the most perfect meet-cute, until she realizes who he is and instantly wants to run for the hills. But Jax isn’t about to let her go that easily.

Eavie’s strength and boundaries clash deliciously with Jax’s confidence and determination, creating the perfect storm of banter, chemistry, and emotional tension. The build-up is slow in the best way, with just enough spice and plenty of heart.

If you love workplace tension, strong female leads, emotionally guarded heroes, and romances that make you feel everything then Reputation is one to add to your TBR immediately!

Eavie has gotten a new job and wants to celebrate. She meets a handsome stranger at a bar and agrees to a ONS and then she figures out who he is and ghosts him. Who is her? One of the hockey players for the team she now works for too, and no fraternizing. Jax doesn’t care what the rule is. He is not letting her get away and works to break her resolve.

The cat and mouse in this book is fire. How she keeps resisting him over and over is beyond me. When they finally do break, it is hot. I did like how everything was handled like adults. There is angst and drama, but it isn’t over the top. I also want to know how I get an office overlooking a rink!

I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more from this author. 5/5⭐️4/5🌶️

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC read of Reputation. As a fellow Canadian and hockey romance fan I was super excited to support a new indie author!

The beginning of this one took of great in the first few chapters, then there was a little bit of time where it took time to build that I had a hard time really sinking my teeth into. BUT I am so glad to say that it definitely picked up. There was pretty much no spice until 50-60% of the way into the book, so definitely a slow burn but once the spice got to spicing it was pretty explosive. Great chemistry between the main characters. A third act breakup but a great storyline that reunited them.

The only additional thing I would have liked to see was a bit of an epilogue to see where it goes from here, but I’m hoping with some of the set-up and easter eggs in this book that there will be more books in the series and we get to see it play out there. I will be looking forward to reading everything she has got coming out!

If you’re a sucker for hockey romance, this debut novel by Elizabeth Sharp needs to be on your radar. Packed with sharp witted banter, crackling sexual tension, and just the right amount of spice, this story delivers on every level.

Both main characters come with baggage from broken past relationships, and watching them slowly break down their walls and learn to heal together is as heartwarming as it is steamy. The chemistry… off the charts. The emotional growth, so satisfying.

This isn’t just a romance, it’s a redemption arc wrapped in laughs, lust, and late night rink side confessions. A must read for fans of sports romance with depth.

So glad I got to receive an ARC to read and review!
This book is definitely a slow burn hockey romance, lots of spice, but it was written so well.
I love that it’s based in Toronto, as I grew up just outside the GTA, it made so much relatable and I could easily see it all in my mind. Such a nice change!
My only complaint is that the book is FULL of feelings. It was almost a little too much? Don’t get me wrong, I want to understand what’s going on with the characters, but it was a bit overboard for me. It felt like almost half the book was just feelings. If that was toned down, it would be a 5 star for me because I loved it otherwise!

4.5 ✨ thank you so much for the opportunity to read this as an ARC! I absolutely loved reading this book. I could not believe this was the authors debut novel. The writing was so effortless and well put together. I will look forward to reading future books from this author.

As for the book I ate up the tension and the yearning between Jax and Eavie!! And the spice 🫣 Eavie’s avoidant attachment did get annoying sometimes but overall I found the characters to be very likeable.

Reputation is the first novel by Elizabeth Sharp and what a great debut it is! It’s about Eavie who works as an EA for the Toronto Royals hockey team and Jax who is their Captain and star player. It’s got forbidden romance, slow burn, and dual POV. I’ve also said before I’m always a sucker for Toronto-based books! Definitely add this one to your TBR.

Evie Adams has been working hard managing the Toronto Heirs' social media; but a new opportunity is coming, and this time as executive assistant to the Toronto Royals' manager!

While celebrating her promotion, she missteps and, without premeditation, briefly but intensely approaches Jax Morghan, the captain of the team she will soon be working for👀
A slow but steady dance to the summit begins, with the aim of making the Ice Queen fall. But it is someone else who will fall here🤣

If we learn anything from this story, it's that while you should always follow your heart, Evie knows that to keep her new position and avoid tarnishing her reputation, she must turn her attention away from him. The challenge will not be easy🔥
The story itself is an enjoyable read. Light yet sparkling, it takes you through the lives of our protagonists as they decide whether to risk it all or turn away😶‍🌫️

First off—thank you for letting me ARC read this one! I still can’t believe this is a debut. It’s polished, emotionally grounded, and the characters are strong and well-developed. The supporting cast? Exactly what they should be: enough intrigue to make me want more, without taking over the main story. (Seriously, I’d be down for more in this world... doctor and ballerina next?? 👀)

Told in dual POV, we start with insta-attraction, but it builds into the slowest of slow burns. No rush. No insta-love shortcuts. Just pining, push and pull, emotional growth, and chemistry that feels earned. He definitely falls first, and I love that.

The tension?? Chef’s kiss. The payoff?? Worth the wait. This is not a closed-door romance. Chapter 34 had me absolutely cackling. Sweet, hot, and exactly what the buildup needed.

Also? There’s actual hockey. Not just mentioned in passing, but woven into the plot in a meaningful way. Respect.

The theme of “reputation” circles back throughout the story in subtle and smart ways, and while this can standalone story, I hear there’s may be more coming for Jax and Eavie—which I’d definitely be reading.

If you’re a slow burn girlie who likes emotional payoff, hockey boys, and a believable romance arc—Reputation is one to watch for.

okay whew! This one was nice and spicy!

the instant connection between Evie and Jax is so magnetic and charged; everytime they're on page together, I'm either smirking or swooning!
Eavie's unwavering focus on her career has landed her a position she's pushed for, and led her to straight to the exact thing she swore off years ago. But Jax, the Team Captain and no stranger to hard work. The chase that ensues is nothing short of feet-kicking; from the quick-witted banter to the moments that didn't need a single word, I was enthralled by this slow burn romance from the very start.

I was obsessed with the novel being set in Toronto, and surrounding a big time hockey team. As someone who lived in the city for the last 10 years and frequented my whole life, I was so pleased as the familiar-feel of the locations - even with all the name changes - it hit home for me.
𝘌𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 as a lifelong fan of the Leafs, this hockey romance made me giddy ... what fan hasn't dreamt of such a thing happening 😏

Eavie and Jax’s chemistry was there from the very start. These two are both career-driven, and both have pasts that have shaped each of them. After meeting at a bar, and her not realizing who he was at the time, she must leave the almost hookup when she finds out he is the Captain of the hockey team she just got promoted too. They can’t deny the fire that has been lit between them, and at first, Jax wears his playboy mask, and Eavie isn’t having it. She doesn’t date co-workers, and even signed a contract to not do so...but Jax makes it incredibly difficult to maintain. The two finally let their chemistry take over, only for her to be burned again. It isn’t until a life-altering situation happens that makes Eavie realize she can not walk away from Jax.
These two, phew...they were spicy from the start. We get to see the real Jax along with Eavie, and dammit I would risk it all too. This is a fantastic debut novel and I highly suggest it for the romance readers, especially if you are into sports romances!

4.5 Stars - Steamy, emotional, and totally addictive

Thanks to the ARC, I got an early look at this hockey romance and couldn’t put it down. Eavie is ambitious and grounded, while Jax is the charming, determined captain who falls hard and fast. Their chemistry is instant and intense, but the slow burn makes the eventual payoff even better.

The workplace tension, forced proximity, and forbidden romance are all done perfectly. I loved the dual POV and how both characters work through emotional scars while trying to resist something that feels inevitable.

Spicy, heartfelt, and full of tension. A fantastic read.
