"The Founder Effect" by Yi Zhang was a really inspiring and easy to connect book. What I liked most was how honest and real her story felt. The author talks about believing in yourself, even when others don’t. I know what that feels like. I’ve been in situations where I felt like an outsider or like I didn’t belong, especially when trying something new. But reading how she built her confidence step by step made me feel more hopeful. Another part I really liked was when she talked about leadership. She didn’t just want to be successful; she wanted to help others too. That really made me think. I also try to be a good example at work and in my family, and I liked how she showed that real leadership is about supporting others, not just winning.
Reading The Founder Effect was, for me, a moving experience. On every page I read, I felt the honesty and sensitivity with which Yi "Sherry" Zhang shares her story as an immigrant, scientist, and entrepreneur. I feel that many of us at some point in our lives have felt like we don't quite fit in somewhere, and that, for me personally, completely connected with this book. I loved the way she described the tension between adapting to a new culture and preserving one's roots. Her entire story symbolizes a path filled with challenges, where resilience and a sense of purpose become indispensable in her quest to find her place in the world. Highly recommended.
The Founder Effect by Yi Zhang is a fascinating memoir which describes the author’s migration from China to the USA and her journey to build her own life and success, first in academia and later as an entrepreneur. Zhang describes her cultural experience with insight and sensitivity, highlighting both her challenges and breakthroughs. Her wide-ranging interests, from science and academia to music and nutrition, have enriched her life and allowed her to make a real difference. If you are a fan of autobiographies, success stories and memoirs with a strong cultural aspect, then this is a good choice for you. I am giving this book five out of five stars.

''The Founder Effect'' tells the story of Yi Zhang and his arrival in the United States to build a different life. In this book, you can see what she experienced during her academic years, how she became a scientist, and her work as an entrepreneur.
