Peder Winstrup was a 17th century bishop in Lund. His ministry spanned the period of Scania's annexation by Sweden following the Roskilde Peace of 1658, and Winstrup was thus both a Danish and a Swedish bishop in turn (his personal loyalties were similarly somewhat changeable). This book chronicles the archaeological exhumation and scientific investigation of Peder Winstrup's body, preserved by the dry climate of the crypt beneath Lund Cathedral. Information is given both about his life and ministry, about his pathologies at the time of death, and about the contents of his coffin. A quick but very interesting read.
