She lives in a hundred-year-old house that she grew up in. Her semi-small town holds an interesting mix of resident hillbillies, yuppies and Navy Seals. And of course Seattle, only a few miles away, is the birthplace of Starbucks so coffee is always on the checklist. She blows glass beads with a blow torch, (which relieves a lot of stress and people don't bother you). Jenni watches and reads all genres of movies and books and loves to lose herself in a good plot.
I have the 80 page preview of the book. And I usually love romance books but this one wasn't what I thought. It was better!! At first it wasn't very interesting to me and I would have quit reading but I have to finish a book once I start is so I kept going. But I am glad I did!! It got better. I liked the whole theme of the book. I like the mans point of view of a book. It has to be my favorite part. And I am a hopeless romantic so of course I loved Logan. I will be purchasing the whole book ASAP! I suggest you do the same.
I received this book through Goodreads Giveaway. This is a quick, fun Christmas read. It combines elements of family drama, history between the two main characters (they didn't just meet) and a missing piece that can only be filled by one another. This is a sweet romantic tale and it was interesting reading Everly and Logan come together. For it to be such a short book, Conner did a great job including some backstory so you could tell where the characters came from and their viewpoints. If you like short, sweet stories this one is for you.
At 84 pages, this New Adult novella had more substance to it. The writing was a little clunky at times and it could use some serious editing. I liked both of the main characters, and I liked that the author managed to include a little bit of back story so you can see how their relationship progressed. There's some family drama and angst, but overall this was a nice Christmas story.
A great short story that left me smiling! I was surprised at the amount of depth and emotion Jennifer was able to reach in such a short read. Everly has always been perfect, being faced with the first thing she's ever failed at is taking its toll. When a family friend comes to stay, giving her the help she needs, she may get more than she ever expected if she helps him in return.
Charming! Once I picked this up I didn't want to put it down. It is a charming, quick read and the author certainly holds your attention throughout. I have never been disappointed with anything I have read by Jennifer Conner and this was no exception. I recommend you pick this one up!
Sometimes a short story can lack depth and character development. That is not true for this story! Everly and Logan are likeable characters, and now I want to read more about them. :) This is a nice addition to the NA genre.
If you are looking for a quick read with childhood friends that become more during the Christmas holiday this might be for you. There were some editing issues and the story was somewhat predictable.
