His submission is beautiful.

Shively

I’ve made my life a complete facade. It’s works for me. I’m successful and have a career I wouldn’t trade for anything.

One night threatens all of my carefully constructed walls.

A single night with one of my players unlocks and unleashes a secret need in me to submit and now I’m willing to put everything on the line to be his perfect submissive. Even at the cost of my career.

Dasan

The D/s lifestyle has always been tempting. In the back of my mind, I know I’ve wanted a sub of my own. But as a figure in the public eye, sometimes living the way you want becomes a challenge that can end with attention you simply don’t want.

One evening challenges my decision to act upon this lifestyle desire when Coach Shively and I share a night together that teases the possibility of something we both deeply desire. As we push the boundaries of this secret relationship, one thing is perfectly clear -

Shively Myers is my perfect, sweet submissive and I need to keep him at all costs.

Crea Reitan

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. When she can't fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center - and utterly swoon-worthy! Don't ask her how many book boyfriends she has...

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don't even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

I have mixed feelings about this one again. I don't know what it is about the hockey series in particular, but I just don't love it as much as the other series. It's more hit and miss from book to book, whereas the other series are consistently great for me so I'm kinda glad there's a break from the hockey books at the moment for the rest of the release schedule.

What annoyed me though was that the book ends really abruptly! I want to see them tell the team and what the reactions are, but the book just ends? It feels like it's all build up and then nothing. I want to know who was following them and trying to get some kind of negative outcome too. It feels like a loose end and I know you don't always get closure in life but this kind of felt like something that would have had an end result or would have escalated.

I did enjoy the coach/player relationship because you hardly ever see that dynamic, as well as the D/s relationship (although I much prefer a brat over a good boy!) and I liked how they put the effort in to research and learn about what they wanted and how they would incorporate it. I liked how they built on their relationship and progressed from colleagues to lovers. Shively's journalling app sounded really fun too.

I am going to agree though that some of the explanations and inner thoughts for some characters and situations do read as a wikipedia style entry, but I will keep reading because overall I like Crea's writing. I love most of her characters and pairings and I'm always curious to see what's coming next but this particular way of delivering information always throws me. I have nothing against what any of these characters are saying/thinking, or the points being made, but often it does ramble and feel like it's going off on a few tangents. For me personally, if this were more concise then it would feel like it was part of a novel and not an information text? I do like how much I've learnt from reading Crea's books, but it is jarring to feel like you've suddenly gone from reading a novel to reading a textbook! I don't know if there's a way to include the same thoughts and information but have it feel more flowing and natural.

The omegaverse parts also really threw me too. I rarely read omegaverse because I find it's often 90% sex scenes and 10% plot, and when you prefer more plot than spice it just doesn't work out. I loved that Dasan and Shively were so into it though and used Alpha and Omega instead of Sir/Boy because I've definitely never seen that, but I did end up skipping a good chunk of those parts because omegaverse is something I have to really be in the mood to read and I just wasn't expecting it or so much of it!

I just read this entire romance book for their to be no love confessions. They didn't even think about how they lived the other person. Not even an "I'm falling for you." Are you serious? Took a 4+ star book down to 2 so quickly. I'm so disappointed.

I really wish there was a book for Trent and his boyfriend and Denny and Ty.

Crea is preaching to the choir (me, I'm the choir🤣)

But as far as the romance, it was a miss for me. It didn't really click and I got bored 🙂. I still love Crea's other books though 🙏♥️❣️❤️

Thoughts as reading:
First of all:
Kudos for the Author's note. These things need to be said. 🌈👍✌️🦄👏Crea Reitan is pretty loud in this book, she sneaks many messages across in the story😉
This isn't as immersive as a few of her other books. Having many characters interacting and referencing other storylines makes this book a little busy and alone time with our main characters less prominent for the first third of the book.
It feels like a 'how to' step by step, entry level to the scene which takes a little away from actual feelings.

I'm not sure if the writing style has changed or my preferences but I haven't been into the last few releases. There were definitely moments I was skimming more than reading.

yeah idk how to feel about this one. i mean, i didn't hate it, but i didn't like it as much as i have the others in the series. at times, it felt more like a manual on D/s dynamics. it also felt a little choppy at times with scenes ending abruptly. i also kind of hated how ren is considered white??? despite being Chinese (iirc) someone correct me if i'm wrong, pls. am i misremembering??? is he half-white or something? last i checked, Asians are POC (and i say this as someone with Japanese ancestry)

I’m really sorry but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m a fan of this authors works but this one was very underwhelming.
It felt like she was talking about herself through the characters. Like they didn’t have a personality but felt much like the authors own. Also the over explaining was too much and it felt like Wikipedia stuff…come on! Sigh…..

At this point, I don't think anyone is surprised that Crea is one of my favs.

This book solidified that sentiment once again because Holly Molly, Total Assist, was nothing like I expected, for some reason, it was better.

When I first read the blurb, I was ah, ok, D/S dynamic, cool, cool, can't wait... but of course, it was not just that, of course, Crea being Crea had to give it its own twist. And boy, it was GOOD.

Shiv & Dasan are not your typical D/S, so don't expect that from them. They have their own unique relationship, and it was so nice to see them explore it. It was nice seeing them learning and trying to be the best version of themselves for the other one. It was kind of like looking behind the scenes on this type of dynamic, or idk...

Going back to Kala is always a pleasure for me, but getting to see a part of the island that I personally haven't seen before ( because I haven't read all the books in the universe yet ) was so exciting. You just know that when the characters are about to get to Kala, things are gonna be good, and things are gonna be easy. Kala is that slice of paradise that we should all find in this world where we can be ourselves without judgment. In this book, Kala meant more than that, tho. It meant learning, it meant trust, it meant strengthening a bond.

Having a character from indigenous descent was so nice because it was the first time I read about one, and I loved it. I wish we had more diversity in books. It is not only refreshing but eye-opening and educational in a pleasant way. It makes you curious to learn more about, or at least it has that effect on me.

Another thing that I loved is how Crea incorporated real-time/life social issues in this book. Nothing new. She always does that, but it never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to forget that some things are happening when you are privileged. I always love those reminders, if you want. It makes me stay present and aware, in a way, to keep me responsible for making sure I am more aware of the way I behave. It, once again, reminds me to keep educating myself on issues that do not impact me personally, but they are important so I can make sure I am always sensitive and mindful of my actions.

Dasan & Shiv are a unique couple, at least in my eyes, and I am so happy I had the chance to read about them and get to know them.

One thing that I absolutely loved is how this was a forever thing, the characters did not imagine, even for a second, about a time in which this will end and they will go their separate ways, even with the forbidden element of the book. It was clear as day that they chose each other and that they found their person. Dasan was the missing piece in Shively's life. He was that piece that gave his soul the peace he craved. He found in him something that he craved for years, all his life really, and he was the exact same for Dasan.

All in all, their journey was beautiful to witness. It had its hardships but not for the usual reasons. It was beautiful to see two people choose one another over and over again, each day, every day.

The funniest part of the book, tho, was when they were trying to find honorifics that worked for them. That part was hilarious, and it felt like a break in the tension sometimes. Cute & fun. That's what it was.

I won't say anything else because, as you already know ( if you've read any of my previous reviews ), I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

Give this book a chance, get lost in this story, and fall in love with Shively & Dasan just like I did. You will not regret it.

Another book in the CreaVerse, another 5✨️ for me. God, I love how this universe gets bigger and bigger AND better with each book.

The For Puck Sake series is definitely one of my favourites of Crea Reitan’s and Total Assist is just another great instalment.

When coach Shively and one of his hockey players Dasan share an unforgettable night together, neither one of them expect to connect in such a way that unlocks the parts of themselves they’ve each secretly been craving. Dasan has always been tempted by the D/s lifestyle, so when he realises Shively is willing to be the one that submits to him, they soon give into their desires and enter into a secret relationship, even though they know it could put the careers they’ve both worked so hard for at risk.

I definitely wasn’t expecting the dynamic between these two to play out the way it did, especially with the positions they both held within the team, but I really did love the way in which the roles in their relationship were reversed in comparison to their professional one, with Dasan taking on the more dominant role and Shively being his sub.
Watching them navigate their way through their relationship, learning about it together and figuring out the others needs and desires, and how to fit it within their everyday lives was such an enjoyable experience. The way Dasan and Shively worked through everything that was building between them together along with the intimate moments they shared, didn’t once feel like any of it was rushed or forced and made their story feel so much more authentic. The relationship between the pair was just so beautiful!

There was so much within this story I enjoyed, I especially liked seeing past characters making an appearance, alongside some new characters that I’m sure will eventually get their own stories, and like always I can’t wait to see what comes next.

The story revolves around the intense and secretive connection between Dasan, a public figure, and Shively Myers, his perfect submissive. This installment in the “For Puck's Sake”, has to be one of my favourites.

“Total Assist” transports us into the thrilling world of her hockey and a D/s relationship, written by Crea Reitan. (Who I’m not ashamed to say is a one click author) 💜

From the outset, Shively struggles with his carefully crafted life, successful in his career yet yearning for something more intimate and genuine. The moment he shares with Dasan ignites desires he’s tried to ignore, tearing down the walls he’s built around himself.

Dasan, on the other hand, embodies the conflicts that come with being in the spotlight. His desire to embrace the D/s lifestyle clashes with the expectations of his career.

I loved the protective instincts Dasan has toward Shively, while grappling with the implications of their relationship. Their chemistry just sizzles on the page.

The story balances steamy encounters with emotional moments, allowing us to witness the evolution of both the characters and the story.

Overall, “Total Assist” is a captivating addition to the “For Puck's Sake” series. With its rich characters, their development, and emotional stakes, and lets not forget their sizzling chemistry, it’s sure to appeal to those who enjoy stories of love, risk, and the beauty of submission.

A must-read for fans of the series and those looking to dive into the complexities of D/s relationships!

As always we have the before and after chat that Ive come to love as much as the actual book. The author explains her musings, workings out and her thumbing of her nose at the world in general (if you don’t like her books, then don’t read them)

Shiv knows that having a crush on one his players is a bad idea. But there is something about Dasan that speaks to him. And despite the flirting Dasan does with Shiv, he never imagines that Dasan would feel more for him. Until one night they find themselves breaking all the rules and discovering a part of themselves they didn’t realize existed. And while they know starting any sort of relationship outside of their hockey coach/player one is a bad idea, they realize that what they both have been looking for is one another. And giving that up? Well, that’s impossible. Not when feelings truly kick in and they explore a part of themselves that has been waiting for the right person to explore. Dasan and Shiv’s story really focuses on them discovering this dom and submissive relationship with one another. They are learning together. Figuring out what works for them and what doesn’t. What works as a couple and as individuals. They create their own world when it comes to this relationship and have another when they are player and coach. They never want to mix it because they know that there could be consequences if their relationship got out, but even still, it’s clear the longer the story goes on, the harder they are falling for one another. As usual, I love seeing familiar faces in this story as well as getting to know Dasan and Shiv! And of course, we meet new characters where I just want their stories as well. Overall, I really enjoyed Dasan and Shiv’s story and can’t wait for the next one in the series!

Dasan and Shiv's book was a great read, and I love that whilst it included a D/s relationship, the couple were figuring it out as things progressed too, and I really enjoyed that it was a flipped dynamic for who was the more dominant male, given their positions in the team.

Reitan had my attention instantly with a coach/player romance, but what unfolded was a pure delight to read. I love how she not only injected her trademark way of writing queer fiction, including some topics/tropes that might not always be shown and showing how every relationship is individual, but I love that she brought light to other tough topics in her narrative. I loved the inclusion of discussion of ethnicity/racism in sport, as it is a problem, but she treated it with such kindness and sensitivity that it's not an "out there" way of writing it - forgive my wording, brain isn't fully functional post jet lag.

Dasan being the Dom of the relationship vs. his coach's sub kept me hooked, and I enjoyed seeing the relationship bloom in what worked for them. I grinned as we took a trip back to Kala - still my favourite fictional place to want to visit - and I loved reading as these two men fell in love. Was it conventional in the beginning? No, but it turned into another one of Reitan's beautiful love stories, and once I started reading, I couldn't put it down.

Revisiting other FPS characters - even if only mentioned by name - was great, and as always, Reitan delivered a read full of romance, character development, spice and heart. I always look forward to when her books hit my inbox, and this one was no different.

Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

"I care that he wants me. That he doesn’t get tired of me. That his hunger for me never lessens. Is never quenched or fulfilled. It’s endless. Infinite." - Shively

"We’re going to work on your self-image. I’m going to work on making sure you understand just how beautiful you are to me." - Dasan

Shively is the coach and has some fun with Dasan one night where he subm!ts to Dasan (soft d0m). That role calms him down and feels natural to him. I love that Dasan was always asking him how he felt and that he helped Shively with his confidence in his body and himself. Dasan was always understanding and created a safe space for Shively to express his feelings. They kept their work/hockey separate from how they were in private.

Shively has a difficult time with expressing his feelings, but they found a way that works for them. They have a lot of fun together; they can be completely themselves with each other. The way they are together is so beautiful; they feel so loved and safe around each other. There is so much trust and honesty. Not only did Dasan encourage Shively in ways that helped him be comfortable with himself, but Dasan also made sure that they both saw different versions of the D/s lifestyle to see if they could improve and to talk to others about what might work for them.

I received an ARC copy of this book.

Well in typical Crea fashion, I have fallen in love with characters.

Shivley and Dasan stumbled upon their relationship and dynamic at a time when they both needed it the most. While they both found the other attractive they never crossed that line until one night. All it took was that one night for things to blossom between them.

Dasan was so protective over Shiv and the way he was always checking on him and helping to build his confidence was so sweet. Shiv had a hard time expressing his emotions and what he wanted but overtime he really came out of his shell and found his voice.

These two had such a beautiful relationship. They had amazing communication and I LOVED how open and honest they were with each other when they were finding what works best for them and their roles.

Getting more on Fel and Ren was a nice addition to the story! Honestly seeing a lot of the other side characters is always a joy and knowing that a few of them will eventually be getting books, makes me so happy.

I love the Creaverse. Crea always manages to bring something fresh and surprising to her stories, and that’s exactly what she did again here. The D/s dynamic in this book felt so natural and beautifully explored. It had just the right touch of taboo without being over the top. It wasn’t just about the kink — it was about connection, trust, and truly seeing each other. Dasan and Shiv are clearly made for one another, and watching them grow toward that was such a satisfying journey.

What I really liked was how they slowly grow closer, step by step. Nothing felt rushed or forced. They’re discovering not only what works for them together but also individually. I liked that their relationship wasn’t perfect from the start, but something they had to build and explore. That gave the story depth and authenticity, and it made every scene between them feel more intimate.

And of course — it’s always such a joy to see familiar faces again. Every cameo reminds me how connected this whole world is. Seeing Kala show up again brought a warm feeling. That setting always feels like a soft place to land in the middle of all the emotion, spice, and growth. It’s a lovely thread that keeps tying the series together.

Coach/player is becoming a forbidden type of couple that I'm really growing to enjoy. As is usually the case with this author's books, this latest entry in the hockey-themed For Puck's Sake series is well-written, emotional, and smutty. I loved that these are older MCs (as in not college aged) and I did enjoy the good communication they had and how they did things their way. I especially enjoyed that this was a flip flop of more usual power dynamics with the coach in this case as the sub. Yes! There is D/s here and it is good, but may be different than what readers expect! Shively is such a good boy for Dasan! While part of the beauty of their story is how both MC recognized that here lies their destiny, I kinda missed the love declaration. Their love is felt, believe me...but I love the words. Also, the ending was a bit abrupt for me, but nothing that stops me from enjoying this book and looking forward to the next from Crea Reitan!

Things to expect:

* hockey romance
* Coach + player
* somewhat older MCs
* age gap
* Indigenous MC
* D/s dynamics
* good boy
* good kinky stuff
* good spice
* intriguing uses of a leash *snicker*
* secret relationship
* previous characters/cameos

Shiv and Dasan are drawn to each other before the book even starts. Right from the beginning Shiv knows he wants one of his players and knows there is something special about him. For Dasan, there is something about Shiv that draws him to him. After one night where they give in, they both find themselves in a situation they always wanted to explore and it fits perfectly.

However, the fact that they are still coach and player does not go away. Shiv especially has to navigate through the fact that’s he’s in charge in more circumstance but not the other. The best way for them to do this is to keep the two sides of their relationship completely separate.

The story highlights their journey as Dom/Sub and how they fit into their roles. This is a learning curve for both of them so it’s fun and interesting to see them learn together.

The spice is good and its there from the very beginning.

Overall this was an amazing read.

This book was perfect and beautifully written. Dasan and Shively are the most beautiful couple and the way they fit perfectly with each other was exceptional. I loved the relationship they formed and the Dom/Sub dynamic was what they were both looking for and needed. Dasan was a soft Dom who was looking for the perfect Sub while Shively wanted to submit and have someone take control and make decisions for him. They both show emotional vulnerability Shively but in different ways. They had such amazing growth while they went through the journey of finding what each of them needs from the dynamic. Dasan is very protective, caring and gives Shively the emotional support showing him how to use his voice. There were so many good points to this book I loved the Kala vacation that Dasan took Shively on so that they can grow and find different aspects to their dynamic. Crea Reitan once again gives us an amazing read that you can get lost in the pages while you read. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

I feel like I always say then when reviewing Crea's books, but goodness me showing relationships that sit outside of the hetero normative world is so refreshing.

This book follows Shivley, a hockey coach, and Dasan, a hockey player. We have age gap, forbidden fruit and d/s relationship where the sub is our lovely coach Shiv. I loved this one because it shows two people who haven't really touched on the lifestyle before, but learn about it together. Watching them both understand themselves in their dynamic was beautiful and add in Crea's educational descriptions for both the relationship, and for bigger world issues always resonates with me so deeply. Using the authoring platform to actually educate people is something that seems to be missing in books, so it's something I truly appreciate

I also love that we got to revisit Felton and Ren, and we also got to go back to Kala!

This was just the dynamic i love in a book.
A bend and break of the stereotypes. A soft look into different types of a dom/sub relationships, navigating them together, throw in a little touch of omega verse and it was just beautiful in its execution.

Where behind close doors its one thing dynamic, yet on the other side the roles are reversed.

These two were cute as hell, with the way they just fit almost instantly, the shy insecure sub coach behind closed doors, to the strict boss man when he hit the rink! The blossoming relationship growing with every chapter, every open conversations with no judgement, creating building blocks of the relationship in and outside of the bedroom until it was something more than just intimacy growing, it was more, more than hockey, more then either of them expected.

this book will make you laugh, smile and want to wrap them up in a big blanket and give them forehead kisses!

Coach Shively knows that being into one of his players, Dasan, really isn't a good idea, but when the perfect opportunity arises, he just can't help himself. They both know that they can't start a relationship, but can't help feeling more for each other than they should. This story has a D/s relationship, and while Shively might not know exactly how to express what he wants to Dasan, there is never a moment when Dasan takes advantage of him, and they soon find a way to give each other what they each want.

These two have such an amazing relationship, and I loved it from start to finish. I can't help but think that they are perfect for each other, and the author did an amazing job with the writing and relationship/character building. The two characters got to learn and grow together, and that was really beautiful to read.

Can't wait to see what the author brings to the table next.

DNF'd at 40 percent. It started off great and I really liked the dynamic between the two mmcs. The power dynamics were pretty hot. But then the mmc starts babbling on about fanfic and then it gets into omega verse. And it becomes preachy pretty quickly about a lot of hot topic issues that I agree with, but just don't care to read about in my romance. Plus, even though this can be read as a stand alone, there were tons of discussions about other couples that were obviously from previous books I didn't read and they took up way too much time from the main couple. I liked Dasan and the Coach, but it wasn't enough of them between the fangirling over fanfiction and preaching, so I'm not continuing. After having read another review that says there wasn't even a love confession, I think it's the right choice.

Shivley and Dasan were an interesting pairing with D/s elements. I enjoyed their open communication and their devotion to each other.

It was nice to get a glimpse of Felton and Ren. Their book is one of my favorite in the series.

While I enjoyed the story I felt the character development was a bit lacking. I wanted to know more about each of them. I feel like we knew a decent amount about Dasan but very little about Shiv besides surface level things. I also learned that I don’t really enjoy Alpha and Omega being used as pet name outside of omegaverse.

Overall, a good addition to the series.

I’m in love with Dasan and Shively! They really complimented each other. The way Dasan took care of Shively’s needs before he even knew them was so sweet to see.

I love that there was no angst in this story. The main focus was their relationship and how much they cared about each other. They knew things could get dicey if they were found out, but were willing to risk it if it meant being together.

My favorite part was Dasan making sure to let Shively know how special and wanted he was. Loved the daily appreciation of the different parts of his body. Making him see he was perfect the way he was.

I had the only smile on my face whenever Dasan talked about omegaverse. He was really into it😆

I need to catch up to this series. Once again I got the ARC without knowing it was a series🙈

This is the 13th book in the For Puck's Sake series and it was a great story. This author creates all different relationships and I adore learning a little about them. Dasan and Shively have a hockey player and coach relationship and one night at a benefit, the relationship becomes more. I love that they both had to learn and develop what worked for them in a BDSM relationship. It was all about the communication. They were perfect for each other. The story was low angst and spicy. I’m still thinking about these characters and I want to know how their coming out went. Hopefully we’ll see that at some point. This was a fantastic book.

4.5 stars i was selected as an arc reader for total assist by Crea Reitan and i loved this book i just love Crea’s writing in general but this book was amazing the main characters are Dasan and Shively the fluff the hurt/comfort was amazing and the spice was good overall some of my favorite quotes from this book were

“He’s mine to take care of. Mine to guide. Mine to take pleasure in.
I think he knows this too. That’s why he sought me out on the mountain by the lake. He knows he’s mine. He knows he comes to me when he wants something.
Shively knows what he wants, even if he’s too afraid to say it out loud.”-Dasan

Shively and Dasan

Shiv and Dasan might be one of my favorite Crea Reitan couples so far! The amount of care and thought Dasan puts into their relationship to make sure it’s right for them is swoon-worthy. He even takes Shively to the Isle of Kala to talk to others who might be able to help with their dynamic. Both of them learn new things about what they want and what they bring to the relationship.

Shively is constantly worried that someone will find out he’s with one of his players. Dasan’s main concern is Shively, and once he knows Shively is okay, he’ll figure out the rest. What he does know for sure is that he isn’t giving up on Shively—or on what they have together.

Dasan and Shiv rocked my world. The power exchange, the coach player trope, playing with omegaverse; it all drew me in and had me scorching the pages of my kindle. Crea Reitan does it again with the13th book in the Puck's Sake series. She had her fans waiting with baited breath for this book to come out and the wait was worth it.

Dasan is a beautiful indigenous dominant who commands the ice and his coach Shivly. The face ups and downs, learning about trust, sharing and openness throughout their relationship. Reitan beautifully addresses Shivly's issues allowing the reading to share his struggle and watch as he blossoms under Dasan. Read this one now!!!

Absolutely loved this, from cover to cover. This is an MM coach/player sports romance and yet another great read from the series.

Shiv and Dasan hookup early in this book and from the first moment there’s no keeping them apart. Their chemistry is steamy and their relationship interesting. Day to day Shiv is in charge, in his role of coach, but off the ice the power dynamic does a complete turn around.

Dasan gives Shiv the safety to act out his desire to fully submit to his partner, something he has always wanted to try. They quickly fall into the dynamic, in a way that suits them and gives them what they need.

D/s done so well. I loved these two. The forbidden nature of their relationship led to a really interesting dynamic, and it worked so well. Especially with the d/s in their private time. I also loved seeing Shiv go from the loud and in charge coach to the shy submissive. That was stunning. As always, I love seeing previous characters, and it is hands down one of my favorite things she does. The large cast of characters could be overwhelming, but it always makes me happy to see even a cameo. I received an ARC copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
