THE COMEBACK KITCHEN:

Rate this book
Five years ago, Anna Thompson was the rising star of Boston’s culinary scene, until a disastrous live TV meltdown turned her into the internet’s favorite “Soufflé Girl.” Humiliated and heartbroken, she slinked back to Clover Bay, the sleepy coastal town where she grew up, and took a job flipping burgers at The Salty Spoon, a run-down diner clinging to its last fryer basket of hope.

Now thirty-three, Anna’s once-flamboyant ambition is buried under grease stains and sarcastic one-liners. But when the quirky town’s annual Food & Fling Festival offers a $60,000 prize and a shot at redemption, she’s dragged back into the spotlight, against her will, and worse, alongside Nate Callahan, the rugged single dad who was her high school crush…and the guy who just happens to make her heart and temper flare in equal measure.

Nate once had dreams of his a football career, a clean reputation, and a family that stayed. Now a carpenter raising his nine-year-old daughter, Deanna, he’s trying to rebuild his life one project at a time. Partnering with Anna means risking the quiet stability he’s built, but it might also mean finally finishing a story he thought was long closed.

As the town places bets on their romantic odds, Anna and Nate are forced to cook, dance, and spar their way through sabotaged soufflés, glitter-soaked rehearsals, rogue seafood, and a parade of well-meaning meddlers. Between flirty late-night kitchen sessions and heartfelt confessions on the pier, Anna must decide if she’s brave enough to cook from the heart, and risk falling for the one person who sees through her armor.

Sweet, sharp, and simmering with slow-burn heat, The Comeback Kitchen is a feel-good romantic comedy about second chances, small-town chaos, and finding the recipe for love where you least expect it.

Perfect for fans of the kind of rom-com that pairs emotional depth with irresistible charm.
