Beach People
Will Levitt has spent nearly his entire life in idyllic Iverson Beach, NC. But he’s also watched it change. As more and more tourists overflow into his small, historical beach town, Will grows more and more jaded. And now, it’s put a block in his ability to compose music as well. When he gets new neighbors, he’s optimistic—until their daughters turn out to be party animals. Will is wondering how he’s ever going to get out of this slump until a new muse appears in town. What a wonderful debut novel!! Everything you want in a summer romance and so much more.
I gotta start off by saying that the beachy coastal vibes were immaculate. Iverson Beach was idyllic and sounded like such a fun place to spend a summer. It was the perfect backdrop for Filly and Will's love story. It also made me want to immediately pack up my things and go to the beach lol.
Filly was such a sweet fmc. I related to her in a lot of different ways, but especially in the way she avoided confrontation. I really enjoyed her growth and watching her blossom throughout this book. Her confidence and how comfortable she was in her own skin by the end of it made me so happy.
Will was your classic grump, but I loved how he could be soft just for Filly. I thought his career composing music for video games was so fun to read about! It showed how passionate he could be and it was sweet to see the way he shared that part of him with Filly. Will could be such a gentleman but I loved that he was not afraid to be filthy with Filly lmao. The mouth on this man!!! Such a pleasant surprise. BUT even then, he was constantly checking in with her and making sure she was comfortable every step of the way. We love to see it!!
Filly and Will were really cute together and I thought they complemented each other perfectly. The development of their romance was incredibly sweet and I loved how they each did cute gestures for each other. They were equal parts wholesome and sweet as they were steamy!! The spice was so good and did not disappoint in the slightest.
The side characters and their families added so much to the story. I am already foaming at the mouth for more stories from these characters!!
Anyway, if you are looking for the perfect summer romance - definitely pick this one up!! Out tomorrow.

Ugh this was so good!! Such an incredible Debut novel, and so so excited to read any and all future books!!
The relationship between Filly and Will, felt so relatable and real. I love how much we got to see all the characters shine and get to know everyone involved. This was the perfect cozy summer book to read and fall in love with. Also the perfect spicy scenes just really added the flare to keep you hooked!! Go Will🌶️
And I can't forget about the most perfect furry companion ever, this book has it all the romance, the relatability and the best summer vibes!

Thank you to Caitlyn for providing me the arc for this debut novel, Beach People! I have wanted to read this for a long time, and it was such a TREAT! Caitlyn illustrates a world you wish you could stay in forever, a quaint beachside town with colorful buildings, cute animals, and good looking men! Caitlyn leans into the grumpy/sunshine dynamic in such a fun way, both Will and Filly are such opposites but perfect for each other at the same time. So many sweet romantic scenes paired with some truly WILD spice, it was just what you’d want from a beachy romance. I highly recommend any romance-lovers to pick this up ASAP!

A beautiful read—easy to connect with and hard to put down!
I had the opporunity to get the ARC for this book and I just finished this book and… wow, Caitlyn! I was truly impressed with the way it was written. The language was so clear and easy to follow, which I really appreciated as someone whose first language isn’t English. It made the reading experience that much more enjoyable.
One thing I really loved was that the character of Will wasn’t overly described. That gave me the chance to picture him in my own way and build my own version of him.
Lastly I am so proud of you and I hope there are more books to come. I will definitely buy every single one.

This !!!!!!! If you’re looking for the perfect summer beach vibe with swoon worthy romance AND a cute dog?? Look no further.
Honestly loved every second of this. I loved how much we got to know all of the characters, even beyond Filly and Will, and the image painted of the beach really transported you right there. The story was so sweet and so real and you could really feel the love from the page.

I couldn’t put this book down. Such a beautiful and passionate love story written from the two different perspectives of the main characters. As I read, I felt like I was watching a classic rom-com. Like the ones you watch over and over and still tear up because you are just rooting for love to win in the end. A spicy summer on the beach, a wing-dog, trauma and healing. Couldn’t ask for anything else in a romance.

Beach People is the debut novel of author Caitlyn Surkein! We follow our grumpy MMC Will Levitt fall head over heels for his new summer neighbor Filly Anderson.
This novel is an amazing debut for Caitlyn. The essence of summer was really captured in this book. Will was such a pleasant surprise and I loved how kind and patient he was with Filly and her family, despite the rough start with her sisters. Filly is a very relatable character, always very accommodating for everyone around her, but always putting her needs last. The tension and small moments between Will and Filly were great, and they both fit into each other's life so easily. Also, Will really surprised me on the spice end. 5/5 for the spice surprise. The ending and epilogue definitely had me tearing up a bit. If you are looking to add more books to your summer TBR, definitely add this one!

Beach People was such a joy to read! From the first chapter, I felt like I was hanging out with real friends. Caitlyn has a gift for creating characters who feel genuine and deeply relatable. The adorable pets woven into the story only added to the charm (and had me grinning more than once).
What really stood out to me was the steady thread of positivity throughout the book. It’s uplifting without being unrealistic. And let’s not forget the incredible spicy scenes! They were passionate, well-written, and felt totally earned by the connection between the characters.
If you're looking for something that’ll make you smile, swoon, and maybe even blush a little, Beach People belongs at the top of your summer reading list.

Beach People is everything I want in a contemporary romance—feel-good vibes, a relatable heroine, a swoony hero, and a sweet happily ever after. Caitlyn Surkein knocked it out of the park with this debut.
I especially loved the main character. She’s bright, funny, family-oriented, and trying to figure out how to line up her passions with real life—which felt super relatable. Also, as someone who sunburns just thinking about the beach, I felt very seen.
The romance was warm and uplifting, and the way the hero makes her feel beautiful in all the little ways was just perfect.

Beach People is the perfect example of a well developed, spicy romance novel. The descriptive back story of all the characters made me feel as if I was immersed into their lives. The imagery was extremely vivid to the tune of believing I was living the events of the story in live and living color. The love story of Will and Filly not only tugs at the heart strings but also allows to feel and understand the passion they have for each other. Absolutely loved this story and would 100% read again! Five star romance read here!

This is an excellent first book for a new author. The characters are people that you would love to be friends with and are very believable with their dialog. The heat in this story may turn some people off but in this case it worked to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion. If you like some real life in your stories this is a book you will fall in love with.
