In her past life, she was a struggling single mother. In this one, she’s a prim and proper young lady with her heart set on healing!
Sophie Olzon, the girl with the strange skin condition, heals all who seek her out at her enchanted salon. Armed with modest healing powers and a resilient soul from her past life as a single mother, she tends to more than just skin-deep wounds. One day, a fellow healer, Kurt Olzon, pays her a visit. “I’m off to hunt a dragon,” he says before handing her one-half of his healer’s identification tag—a token rarely given to anyone save those one holds dear—and vanishing into dangerous lands. Clutching the memento he left behind, Sophie prays for his safe return.
Months later, he returns—whole and unharmed—and greets her with three quiet words. Words that promise to change everything between them.
An entertaining read with both the various short stories about new patients as well Sophie's own story. Rather simple, but that was as expected and makes for a good palate cleanser. The ending was a bit sappy, but it fits the mood of the story. It is the final volume of the series, and I feel that is probably a good thing, since the "each patient is a short story" setup would not work much longer. All in all, a solid read.
Ahhhhh, what a beautiful ending to an amazing series!! I wish it was longer, and that we could see their life in the capital, when they have children, more healings. Loved them.
