My mother taught me to read and to cook at an early age. Now some seventy years later, I love to read and cookbooks catch my eye. I saw this one on my friend's shelf. I borrowed it and found it an excellent cookbook for novices as well as experienced cooks for several reasons. The instructions are easy to follow and most of the recipes contain ingredients that one usually has on hand or can easily find at the local supermarket.
I'm cooking my way through one recipe in each chapter. From breakfast to desserts, I've been pleased with the recipes I've tried. This book would make a great gift for a bridal shower...or a birthday day gift, too. I'd buy my own copy if my friend weren't so quick to let me borrow his.

It's a cute little book for those setting out on their own with little cooking skills under their belt. It was gifted to me by my one grandmother - her and mine taste of meals were a bit different at the time. I will be keeping it to teach my kiddos from and hopefully pass it on to one of them, a reminder of simpler times and simpler recipes.
Not sure what I was expecting. I want low effort, limited ingredients, but still taste good recipes for the kitchen ignorant. I found this book amusing. It starts with so-simple heat a can of soup stuff to actual cooking.
