I quite liked the theme of friendship in this story. I was drawn in at the beginning when the main character was longing for friends and cheered when she found one. I will admit though that I found myself wishing for stronger character development to identify with, and found the instant transformation of their one friend a little unrealistic. I felt she has some reason to be a bit angry after being cut from the team and wanted to see more acknowledgement for her feeling rather than just see her learn a lesson about behaving meanly towards the other girls. But overall a fun little story that I think would be suitable for teens who have less complicated types of lives. And as a result of the many references brought me into the story, I want to order pizza and watch a movie.
