Keeping Promises

Rate this book
I’m engaged to be married. But I have feelings for someone else… my sisters soon to be ex.

I keep feeling this magnetic pull toward Guy. Maybe it’s his British accent. Or the way his hair curls at the ends that makes me want to run my hands through it. Maybe it’s the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles. Whatever it is, something is there, and I can’t shake it.

He’s my brother in law. It’s so wrong on so many levels. Even if there was a possibility there, it feels wrong because he belonged to my sister first. It’s becoming hard to ignore the nervousness that swirls inside me whenever I’m around him.
He says he won’t give up until I tell him I choose Trevor instead.

I can’t tell him that.

Keeping Promises was an emotionally packed fast read that touches on subjects that might be questionable to some. Emily is engaged to be married. Guy is just getting out of a marriage with Emily’s sister. There is a pull between Emily and Guy that one is fighting and the other isn’t. At the end of the day tough decisions have to be made. What will the two do?

Keeping Promises was ultimately a very emotional book for me. I know how it feels to be Guy but I also know how it feels to be Emily so my emotions were all over the place.

The story made me mad...
The story made me sad...
I laughed and had tears brought to my eyes.
I wanted to smack some people a time or two.

Without getting into too much details that could ruin the story....I get why things happened. I might not agree with how everything went down but I do understand. At times my heart hurt for everyone involved.

This was my first book by Renea Porter and I enjoyed her writing style and how page after page you were brought into the story. I will definitely be reading more from her.

Sparks fly when you work side by side with your partner. But when your partner is your ex brother-in-law, that’s should be a big negative. And also if you’re engaged and about to be married. That’s not the case with Emily and Guy. Many signs for them to be together. This emotionally read with a new start of happiness.

When they say one door closes and another one opens, Guy never realized that door lead to Emily. With many obstacles and challenges, both Emily and Guy had to follow their hearts. Without giving away details, they both had a lot to lose. But they followed their heart to find out their happily ever after.

This was an emotionally and heartfelt read. First times reading anything from Renea Porter. She captured my attention from the beginning. I look forward to the future.
