Volume 9 was probably my favorite volume in the series so far. I really enjoyed how the story became more serious and darker after Volume 7, with the deaths, violence, and some genuinely gruesome moments. But at the same time, I think the silliness of the characters—and the way they somehow always manage to fuck things up—is still a really important part of what makes the story work.

I really appreciate how this volume managed to find a balance between the more serious moments and the characters’ absolute dumbassery. It never felt like the darker tone completely took away what made the series fun in the first place.

Honestly, that mix of seriousness and stupidity is probably one of my favorite things about this series.

A light story, almost like a short story/filler volume until the final chapter a year later. Sets up the next arc on the Nostalgia Project.
