I was given this book, to review, by the author, and I thank Ms Green for that.

It really helps that you read book one, Dragon Wife, before reading this.

Harith is betrothed to Princess Ayelet, but they have both been putting their wedding off. On a trip back from visiting, Harith comes across Trollkin, and attacks, but is gravely injured. Nyssa comes across the attack, and against her mother's wishes, shifts into dragon form to help Harith. But Nyssa and her mother have long been in hiding, and Harith's presence, and the mind talk he does with Nyssa puts them all in danger.

I loved catching up with these dragons, and their clan. Nyssa is on the run from a rival clan to Harith's and her mother believes all dragons treat their females as badly as their clan. But we know that Harith's clan is all about choice, and Nyssa and Noss need to see that. Harith knows Nyssa is his mate, but he holds back still, for technically he is still betrothed. I liked that, he held back for as long as he could but Nyssa asked, and he could not refuse her.

We get some Huroth and Orwenna, and their two children. We get a little of why Ayelet keeps putting the wedding off. We DONT get THE why, though. WHY were the dragons encased in ice before, who did it, and I soooooooooooooooo wanna know! I need to know! I do hope that comes in the next book, I really do! When that is likely to be, I've no idea, but by hook or by crook I will read the book, watch me, see if I don't!

Dragon Warrior is about half the length of Dragon Wife, but by no means any less of a read.

4.5 stars, which is half a notch up from Dragon Wife.

Thank you, again, to Ms Green for my copy, I very much appreciate it!

Dragon Warrior, 2nd in Diana Green's Dragon Clan series, includes characters from Dragon Wife while carrying the saga into the next generation. This story brings into play another dragon clan from the far north. Action-packed. Emotionally riveting. Romantically thrilling. There's no deciding which of the two Dragon clan books I liked most. They certainly were not carbon copies of each other. I hope the 3rd book becomes available in the near future.
Diana Green is a master at creating interesting characters, and her descriptive language enriches the great story-telling. Don't miss out on this series.

Cute

About the same feels as the first book. The author leaves much to wonder about. A lot of the characters have a mysterious story.

Dragons and magic make for an excellent romantic fantasy read

Ok this author gets better with the second in the Dragon Clan series. Dragon Warrior captured my interests quicker and held them through until the very end. The pacing was steady throughout whether it was in times of action or the relationship building. That’s not to say that you don’t feel the excitement of battle and that the pace doesn’t quicken in such times as it should but rather that it doesn’t slow and have you losing interest when the action isn’t quick and fierce. To top that off she definitely turned up the heat in this one.

Dragon Warrior is a tale of two clans actually. One where a despot ruler claims any female he wants and kills off any perceived competition. Aurek is aided in his evil machinations by a dragon sorceress. At the beginning of the story Nyssa watches as her brother is slain while trying to protect her. She is moments away from being brutally claimed by Aurek when suddenly they are literally frozen and suspended in time. Years later she is lucky that both her mother and her are some of the first that awaken and in the chaos that ensues they are able to sneak away. Life becomes one of impersonating humans in order to remain hidden and survive. Nyssa is self-sufficient and independent if not rather lonely. Her mother has magically blocked their telepathic abilities and forbidden their change to drake form. While she has the occasional hook up with the local blacksmith he is definitely not mate worthy.

On the other hand the young dragon warrior she happens upon while out hunting is more than worthy. Harith is grievously injured in a fight with three trollkins, their ancient enemies. Nyssa is just able to save him by changing forms and dispatching his last opponent. Dragging him home she sets about healing him with the reluctant help of her mother. Finding out the dragon of her dreams is already promised to a princess of the human realm of Rhelaun doesn’t exactly make her happy.

Harith is the heir to his clan and as such he has been promised to Ayelet, the princess of Rhelaun. Neither of them are particularly happy with the betrothal or each other. Duty and loyalty to his father and clan drive him. But lately he questions what life will be like stuck in the loveless relationship he is destined for. Harith wants the love and happiness that his father shares with his human mate. When he awakens from his injuries to find himself in the company of Nyssa and her mother he spends his time while healing falling rapidly in love. Unable to call out to his father telepathically courtesy of Nyssa’s mother, he is isolated with the two women he believes to be human.

As in most good stories old enemies have a habit of turning up like bad pennies. Things get heated. Love and life is on the line. Watching Harith come to terms with duty, loyalty and love was truly enjoyable. Watching Nyssa regain the freedom to be herself and find love along the way was gratifying. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone that loves dragons, magic and a great love story.

Introducing a scarlet & a Stygian dragon entwined..........
Taking off from the ending of Dragon Wife, Diana Greene's Dragon Warrior tells the story of Harith and Nyssa. It reveals the tale of Nyassa's past, her toiling life in the forest, then, how she rescues Harith and they both come to care for each other creating complications both, in Nyassa's secret existence outside her clan, as well as Harith's betrothal to Ayelet.
Coming to character development I have no hesitation in stating that I have come to love her feisty heroines. While Orwenna in the previous book was a contemplative character with hidden sparks of adventure, Nyssa is a vibrant, vivacious, buoyant, and spirited ball of fire, whose inner inferno blazes as strongly as her carmine dragon scales( she's also a redhead!).Living in the forest camouflaged as a human along with her mother, monotonously laboring each day,she tries to suppress her other self to lead an inconspicuous existence. But the dull facade is shattered when she helps Harith fight the trolkins and later helps to cure his injuries despite her mother's warnings. Though she believes in having fun now and then, her vehement negations in the matters of marriage and mating seems to melt away the longer she interacts with Harith.
Harith on the other hand is a male heir burdened with responsibilities and duties for his people. Though uncertain about his match with Ayelet, Harith willingly goes forward to sacrifice himself in a loveless marriage to secure the future of his clan. The change in his priorities comes when he develops feelings for Nyssa while recuperating under her care. He starts to question his priorities and the theme of the novel is this moral question of choice- between duty and love.
The climax of the novel takes us soaring in the skies when, the Red clan captures Nyassa and Harith and the consequent battle for power between
Harith's clan, and them. The plot of the novel is a steady one where the author introduces multiple subplots to keep the story from growing tedious.
Ayelet's secret romantic tryst, Huroth's concern for his son, his realization and repentance for his unnecessarily strict behavior towards him, and also the Red clan's hated king and his sorceress are a welcome diversion in keeping the tale exiting. Also, the multiple narrative gives the plot a boost as the story is viewed from different perspectives making the reader create their own interpretation of the characters.
Another thing I liked in the book is the beautiful description of nature especially the winter forest as seen through Nyssa's eyes.
So, overall it is a nice length novella with a prologue as well as an epilogue and is a great followup of the fist book.

Interesting story

Review copy provided via Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

The story surrounds Harith and Nyssa, both are dragons but Nyssa is hiding from her clan. Harith is the son of the leader of his dragon clan and is to wed a human girl. You can see the differences in the Princess and Harith and how they don't have that click that you wonder with Harith if this is the right choice. The story moves quiet well, it isn't sluggish or to the point where you wonder when the story is going to pick up. When we meet Nyssa for the second time you find out more about her and how she's hiding from her clan and the escape (that isn't clear in the first part of the book).

The Hero and Heroine develop rather well together and compliment each other on their development as you see the strong pull of what Green's dragons have when they find their life mate. They go through hardships and the loss of someone important to one of the main characters.

It's an interesting Romance with how Green ties everything together and doesn't let it stray from the path and leave loose ends. At first you get confused with a bit of information on Nyssa and her clan but then it becomes clear as you continue reading the story and things become clear. Everything is smoothly transitioned unlike some other Romance that I have read before. Over all I enjoyed Dragon Warrior and it can be read alone without reading the first book. The third one sounds like it will be interesting as it ties into the beginning of Dragon Warrior. I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a good romance with an interest in dragons.

This is the second book in the Dragon Clan series and I recommend you read the first book, simply because it is so enjoyable and you might miss out on a brilliant story if you don't.

This tells the tale of Harith, Huroth's son. He has been betrothed since a young age to a human princess, Ayelet. However, things aren't going too well although both of them feel that they must 'do their duty'. On a flight home, Harith makes a decision that is costly and ends up in Nyssa's care. She is also a dragon but doesn't tell him that due to her own private history.

This is a wonderful telling and the more I hear about the dragon clans, the more I admire Huroth! He is a wise and capable leader of the dragons and with Orwenna by his side, they make an awesome pair. Harith and Nyssa are a force to be reckoned with and I am looking forward to reading more snippets about them in the books to come (hopefully!).

This book has pretty much everything in it - love, romance, action, danger and even sadness so be prepared. Definitely recommended!

This series shows real promise. The first book was Excellent! The hero was a strong, sensitive, valiant and kick-butt dragon-shifter leader. The heroine was a bold and spunky healer/magician human woman. They had good chemistry and their interactions were fun to read. This second book however was a bit lacking. First it was too short for adequate story and character development. The hero is Harith the son of the hero from the first book all grown up. Well almost grown up. He seems to need a few more years to mature. He is brash and overconfident. The heroine turns out to be twice the warrior he is. He is kind, honorable and handsome but she comes across more mature and competent. There is plenty of action, the chemistry is good and the ending is mostly happy. It is an entertaining book but I still hope that the rest of the series matches the quality of the first book instead of this one.

Great book. It moved faster then the first one. I wish the story could have been longer. Still would have liked to know more about the dragons. I love both of the main characters - Harith and Nyssa. And I was happy that Harith and Ayelet didn't marry. I really didn't like her much. I love that she will still have an arranged marriage to deal with. I also loved how Nyssa's mother kept giving Harith such a hard time. I would've enjoyed more of that in the story.

I look forward to reading the next book. I also highly recommend that anyone who reads books on dragon shifters to give this book, this series a try.

I loved reading about Harith and Nyssa. There story was full of surprises. Harith is so easy going, but duty bound. Nyssa is sassy and fierce. Harith is trying to come to terms with his duty, but his heart is lacking that "spark". Nyssa's constant fear of discovery and continued survival has her feeling restless. They're chance meeting and their instant "spark" are almost combustible. I highly recommend reading the Dragon Wife, the first book in the series, but it's not necessary to understand the second book. Both are good in there own right. I received this book from the author/publisher through Reading Alley in exchange for an honest review.

Dragon Warrior

I received this book from Reading Alley in return for a fair and honest review.

And the Dragon's continue to rule....

Thankfully the son has found an strong woman to match him. The secondary character (the Dragon chief's son) from the first book steps into his own story in this second instillation of the series, and he does it well. He stumbles across a woman who isn't afraid to stand up and fight back for what she wants. Good job Harith and Nyssa for deciding your own fate.

This story is a little shorter than the first one, but don't worry, its not rushed and a full story line is played out within the book.

I great book written by a wonderful writer with great imagination and talent.

From start to finish the story glided smoothly and made me feel every emotion that every one of the characters was feeling. The descriptive writing allowed me to run off to my own little world of Dragon Warrior where everything was in HD quality. It was that good for me.

The characters each had their own personality and it showed through without the story straying off topic or off theme or character.

Overall, A must read for any lovers of dragons. :D

This series gets better and better

I am really impressed with this series. A richly developed world, characters that are interesting and flawed, and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages... and dragon shifters -- need I say more?.

I can't wait to read the 3rd in the series. I recommend this title to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance with a strong, sassy female lead.

Not a bad story, but I enjoyed the first story more. Harith and Nyssa were good together but they didn't seem to have the same spark as Huroth and Orwenna. Plus we weren't really reacquainted with some of the members of Dragonvale, so when...

Spoiler alert...

They were lost, it didn't really bother me. I'm not sure I will read the last in the trilogy since I was a little disappointed by this book.
