Bleed For Her: An Obsession Duet

Rate this book
I think I’m falling for the man who’s been breaking into my home.

It started with a bruised rose on my bookstore counter.
Then a note—written in blood—calling me little monster.

Creepy, right?

Except now, I’m checking the locks twice... and leaving the window cracked anyway.

He’s not just some stranger. He’s a soldier-turned-shadow with a past tied to mine in ways I shouldn’t want to untangle.
He watches me like he’s memorizing scripture.
And I should be scared. I was scared.

But then he saved me.
Left me a burner phone with one him.
Whispered my name like a prayer through the dark.

Now I see him everywhere.
In my dreams. In my journal. Under my skin.

I let him in. I wanted him to stay.
And when I kissed him first, it was already too late.

Because the man obsessed with me…
Is here to destroy my family.

And the worst part?

I’d burn it all down just to keep him.

This is EXACTLY what I want from a dark-stalker romance!!

This book captivated me from the first few pages with the raw grittiness it exudes, and has held me hostage since!

Beck’s character is a walking barrel full of red flags and undoubtedly everything your mother warned you about… but, so damn addictive in the unapologetically warped way he obsesses over and pursues Charlotte.

The writing weaves a delicious web of obsession, danger and desire that’s almost palpable. Honestly, I could not consume this book fast enough, and after that cliff hanger— SOS!!

I need the next book, and I need it yesterday!

sigh…

Leah, Leah, Leah…what are we doing here??

You trapped me from the first sentence and I held on for the entire ride. When I say I loved this book, I mean I devoured every page, sentence and word written. Marking it to my retinas. The only terrible thing I could say is I now have to wait for the second book. 😭

I Should Run… But He Brought Flowers

This book? Wild—in the best way. Dark, intense, and addictive.

She’s a quiet bookworm who reads way too much smut and secretly wants a little danger in her life. And then there’s him—Beck. Her stalker. The man who watches from the shadows, leaves roses at her door, and calls her "little monster" like it’s a love language. He’s completely unhinged… and somehow, exactly what she’s been craving.

Their dynamic is chaotic, possessive, and absolutely magnetic. She should run, but she doesn’t. And honestly? I wouldn’t either.

Beck is everything I shouldn't want in a love interest—and yet, here we are. He’s officially earned his place on my top book boyfriends list. He’s intense, obsessive, and somehow makes “dangerous” feel like “home.”

Bleed For Her is perfect if you're into dark romance that doesn’t hold back. It’s bloody, bold, and beautifully twisted. Highly recommend—just maybe don’t read it if you’re looking for anything soft or sweet. This one bites back.

I  went into Bleed for Her by Leah D. Cummings not entirely sure what to expect, but wow this book grabbed me right away. It’s dark, intense, and full of that kind of electric tension that makes you say “just one more chapter” until it’s suddenly 2 a.m.
The chemistry between the characters is impossible to ignore, and she does a great job keeping the pace tight while still giving enough emotional pull to keep you invested. I loved the balance between passion and danger, even when things got messy or uncomfortable. That raw edge is exactly what makes it work.
If I’m being honest, I did wish there was a bit more backstory on her family. There were moments where I wanted to understand her motivations more deeply—why she reacts the way she does, what shaped her before all this chaos. It wouldn’t have to be a lot, but a little more insight there would have made some of her choices hit harder.
And that cliffhanger, I definitely wasn’t expecting that. I knew it was the first book in a duet, but I still wasn’t ready for it to end like that. It’s the kind of ending that makes you stare at the last page in disbelief, wondering how you’re supposed to wait for the next book.

Didn't

Like the

Writing..

So...veryy...
Not...darkkk.

Probably not the targeted audience for this, as I found it very boring at times I started skimming around 33% and they still hadn't officially met, he was just leaving notes & dumbass fmc was unrealistically allowing it because???
No idea.
Zero idea why he was obsessed and leaving cameras & reading lines from her favorite dark romance books (yeah Haunting Adeline was mentioned & that should've been my 1st clue about this book).

At the same time she's fantasizing about him being all rapey on her, her stalker that's breaking in her apt every night & after her admitting to herself that she has a shit dating life & shit taste in men & yeah.
I think im too old for this type of make believe & writing.

The poor rating is for the prose and the weird vague writing attempt to make it seem more dark and mysterious when it came out more like melodramatic instead. I felt that the writer was trying too hard with this.

I consumed this book in one day! It was a fun slide into darkness, mystery keeping the details hidden, just breadcrumbs that kept me reading, kept me following and wanting to be engulfed in the sin and shadow!

Dark temptation, mystery, obsession.
Where being consumed by the feelings that you hide, break through your walls and finally allow yourself to accept the parts of yourself that others say is wrong.

No matter how scared you are, sometimes the darkness is more enthralling, and you invite the devil in to play and stay. They will burn the world down to ash just to keep you, have you, never let go.

If trigger warnings are a welcome sign, take a moment, get your hands on this, and dive into the world of obsession, claiming, betrayal and brutal touch her, and die. (But make sure to read the trigger warnings before you do, just to be sure that it is safe for you to handle)

Thank you, Leah, for sending me an ARC for Bleed for Her!

3.75⭐️’s rounded up <3 One thing about me is that I LOVE a stalker romance and I really enjoyed this! It felt super unique and I was hooked, as the story progressed I just found myself piling up questions trying to figure out what was happening which made putting the book down near impossible🤞🏻 jumping into the second book now 🤭

Tropes
- Stalker romance
- Ex military mmc
- Touch her and die
- Obsessed mmc

Quotes <3

“My world has narrowed down to her every breath. Every flick of her eyes, every twist of her hair—it's not obsession; it's devotion.”

“My obsession isn’t quiet—it’s a war drum in my chest. Charlie isn’t just my purpose; she’s the fire that keeps me from going numb. I don’t worship her—I orbit her, pulled by gravity I stopped resisting the second I saw her. Every darkness in me flares to life when she’s near. And yeah, maybe I’d raze the world just to keep her lit.”

“I’ll protect her from anything. Anyone. Even herself.”

I’m not going to lie this book was hard to get into at first because it was giving Haunting Adeline vibes and I thought it was going to be another copy of the book. I was WRONG. While yes some things mirror Haunting Adeline that was the whole point. The book is even mentioned inside this one.

We follow Beck and Charlie through this stalker obsession trope and I loved it. The raw obsession Beck has for Charlie is unmatched. I also love how Charlie is realistic but also doesn’t limit herself with her feelings toward Beck and accepts that what she’s finding herself attracted to is dark and strange but she doesn’t reject it.

This book is more than just Beck and Charlie’s love story. We get glimpses of what plays deeper in them finding each other.

This book does end on a cliff hanger and I’m so excited to read the second half of this duet! Make sure you have the book ready! You’re gonna want it.

Stalker, but make it poetry. That’s the energy this book bleeds, obsession wrapped in velvet shadows, darkness recognizing itself in another. It’s a slow burn that doesn’t just simmer, it scorches.

Beck isn’t your typical monster. He’s the thing in the corner of your eye, the shadow that lingers too long, the danger you crave even when you know better. He watches, he waits, and somehow, you want him to. Every glance is loaded, every moment crackles with unspoken threat and impossible need.

This story drips with tension, seduction, and the kind of twisted intimacy that makes you question your own sanity. It's everything a dark romance should be: aching, intense, and just a little unhinged.

And that cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal. I’m hooked, haunted, and already desperate for Book 2. Let the darkness drag me deeper.

had me in a chokehold

This story sinks its teeth in early and does not let go. The tension, the pacing, the emotional pull… all of it hits exactly where it’s supposed to.

And that cliffhanger?! Criminal. Straight up cruel in the best possible way. I finished this book and immediately needed book two because there is no universe where I can just sit with how this ended. I need answers. I need resolution. I need more of them.

Everything feels intentional, layered, and addictive. The kind of book that makes you ignore responsibilities because stopping is not an option. If you love stories that hook you fast, keep you invested, and leave you desperate for the next installment, this one delivers.

So good. Painfully good. Book two cannot come fast enough.

★”YOU'RE NOT ALONE, LITTLE MONSTER. I SEE YOU.”★

Charlotte aka “Charlie” has dug into an obscure, small-town life as bookshop owner. But watching her from the shadows, monitoring her daily movement, leaving her little gifts is a man comfortable in that space, biding his time until he can pounce. All for revenge. Initially. Now it’s become something else, more than Beck (“Dark Guardian”) had bargained for. Watch the cliffhanger…cannot wait to see Beck do more hunting!

“You feel me now, don’t you, Charlie?”

“Charlie doesn’t ask—she bleeds and bites back. Thrives in wreckage. Burns from the inside out with a fury that doesn’t flicker. Charlie? She's wildfire with a name.”

Just wow! I loved this book!
I loved the roses and notes that he left her!
Along with that and the little shout out to Haunting Adeline, it was great!

The spicy was perfect!

The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I feel like there should have been a little more background about Beck. I’m sure we will get more of it in the second book though. I just felt like it was a nice slow(ish) burn and then bam! Everything happens so fast and jumps straight to the (I’m assuming) main plot. I guess I just felt like there could have been a little more detail to lead up to the cliffhanger end.

But other than that it was a great read!
You can never go wrong with a stalker romance 😏

A hero who will both terrify and protect.

Bleed For Her by Leah D. Cummings completely pulled me in with its dark obsession and addictive chemistry.

The instant protectiveness Beck has for Charlie is absolutely thrilling, and the way she responds to his roses and bloody notes is definitely unhealthy… but oh so hot. 🔥 The spice is fantastic, and the immersive imagery had me hooked from the start.

I would love a little more backstory on Charlie’s father, but overall, I’m really enjoying this duet and can’t wait to dive into book 2.

If you love dark, obsessive romance with edge-of-your-seat tension and a hero who will both terrify and protect, this one is for you!

This story had me hooked from the start—I couldn’t stop turning the pages because I needed to know what would happen next. The slow burn, emotional tension, and that constant promise of spice kept the pace sharp and addictive. And when the spice finally hit? So worth the wait. 🔥

Leah D. Cumming does a great job pulling you into the characters’ world and unraveling their secrets piece by piece. And just when you think you’re getting answers—boom—that cliffhanger hits, and now I’m absolutely aching for book two. I’m so excited to see how this duet wraps up because I need more.

Blood For Blood

Freaking loved this book!!!!!!
Beck has been watching Charlie for 3 years trying to keep her safe without her knowing. Who doesn't want someone to keep you safe from the shadows? Little does Beck know someone else has been watching Charlie too. He claimed her as his with a blood for blood oath, but someone doesn't care or want to honor that oath. Little do they know when they take her they are releasing her fire on the world, and it will burn everything to find her!!!! I can't wait to find out what happens!!!!

Stalker romance, say less.

Beck is mysterious but oh so dedicated to obsessive stalking. Charlie is just a quiet little book nerd who enjoys things on the darker side… like being stalked.

This was fast paced, but also vague. Majority of this book is Beck stalking Charlie. It gives you hints about what the plot is about without going fully in-depth. Ends on a cliffhanger and you are still left with a ton of questions.

The author is a poet with their writing, it’s giving homage to Edgar Allan Poe.

In my stalker romance era...

This book was addictive.
This is exactly what I'm looking for in a stalker romance. Dark, forbidden, intense.
The anticipation was written so well.

Dual POV.
Fast-paced.
Man-obsessed

Charlie sweet bookstore owner with dark secret desires. "What kind of girl wants to be stalked? Bound? Worshipped like prey?"

Beck protector or stalker? Maybe both.

The last few pages had me on the edge of my seat, then cliffhanger! Need book 2 ASAP please.

The writting style of this book is a bit verbose for me. Not necessarily a bad thing for those who enjoy the descriptiveness, it was just a bit much for me personally. Having said that though the story was great, unhinged and spicey and the mcs were well written. Be warned it does end on a cliffy as it's a duet, and I can tell you I really want to see what happens next.

4.5 stars.
If you like dark romance with military training thrown in, then you will love this book. Beck is mysterious and very protective. Charlie is sweet with a dark side. Her family is definitely not on the straight and narrow path it keeps you trying to figure it out. Beck past looks like it is coming back to get him. You definitely don't want ti mess with what is his.

This was a slow burn, waiting and waiting, building the plot and the tension between Beck and Charlie . Beck is overly obsessed and protective of Charlie, so much so that it’s consuming and possessive. Charlie is craving all the dark, depraved things that Beck can give her. It was a slow build up, but when it got good, it was good! Loved this book. Can’t wait to read book 2! 💕🩷

This book left me craving more! Beck is the morally grey man dark romance girls love and make their book boyfriend. He perfectly and poetically stalked the fmc and the ending of the book isn’t something I’ll let go of soon. I need the next installment to know what will happen.

Definitely a must read!

There is nothing sexier than a morally grey man who doesn't give a f*ck when it comes to his obsession - Charlie. The beautiful broken, nerdy bookstore owner. The dark, twisted, unapologetically obsessed Dark Guardian aka Beck is sex on a stick and Charlie is one lucky bitch. I can't wait to see what unfolds.

This book is exactly what I needed!

I was stuck the moment I read the first sentence! Charlie, a small town bookstore owner who Beck watched from the shadows…. Monitoring her every move, leaving little gifts until the right moment. Beck was seeking revenge initially, but the moment he laid eyes on Charlie…. She became his. And when they take her…. The monster comes out to play!!!!

I really enjoyed this read! The MMC was dark and possessive. Just what we need in a dark romance. The FMC was dark and mysterious. I loved the way each POV was very descriptive. I just wish we got more of the backstory. I feel like it'll come together in the sequel, but I got confused at times with the FMC's family ties and how the MMC is connected.

I made it 18% in and just couldn’t do it anymore. I had really high hopes going into this one, which honestly made the disappointment hit harder. It just felt like a lot of words strung together without an actual story pulling me in—if that makes sense. I kept waiting to feel hooked, but it never happened. Sadly, this one just wasn’t it for me.

WOW! From the first page to the last I loved this book. The story between Beck and Charlie will keep you guessing on what is going to happen next. The story between Dark Guardian and his Little Monster. Stalker vibes with military training added in and the touch her and die attitude. I hate the way it ended though! I need to know more!! If you like stalker romance stories with morally grey MMCs then you will like this book!!
