Gary’s young son has a cold. Gary hates bodily fluids, so when his wife comes home with a new contraption for him to ‘help’ with cleaning his son’s nose, he is horrified. It’s a tube where one sucks the snot out of the kid’s nose into a small piece of foam. With no choice one day but to do it himself, it all goes terribly wrong. He forgets to put in a new piece of foam. Yet something unexpected happens. Something that will transform Gary’s life. Now, instead of being horrified by his kid’s runny nose, he will be excited about it. And it doesn’t stop there. Soon, Gary will be attracted to all kinds of bodily fluids. The trouble is where does he draw the line? If he indeed can?
J. Boote is the alter-ego of Justin Boote, author of horror and dark fiction. J. Boote writes primarily extreme horror, not for the faint-hearted or easily offended.
Ok…where to begin with this one…I’d like to state for the record that I have a fairly strong stomach. Between the content I read, watch, and even the things I’ve experienced in my own personal life, it can handle quite a bit. However, I got queasy within a few pages of reading this. Absolutely yucky and disgusting. I believe the term ‘snot bukkake’ was appropriately used and even just thinking of it makes me want to revisit dinner from last night. And, somehow, it devolved into something much worse beyond that. And then even worse. And then a few more levels of absolute depravity. It just kept getting nastier. This was, by far, one of the most disgusting stories that I’ve ever read. And all my Topsiders see the vile crap that I read through on a weekly basis, but this one got me. J. Boote accomplished his goal of making the reader want to vomit several times. And never read another book again. Just…ick!
What if Kim found out or Aaron innocently mentioned something to his mother one day? I’d be homeless and divorced, that’s what. Accused of being a sick perv and it wouldn’t be long before everyone in the village knew about it. They’d come at me like I was the local witch. Probably string me up and cut my balls off. {¿Qué tal si Kim se entera, o Aaron inocentemente menciona algo a su madre, un día de estos? Yo quedaría sin hogar, y divorciado, eso es todo. Acusado de ser un pervertido enfermo y no levaría mucho tiempo antes que todos en el barrio supieran esto. Vendrían por mi como si fuera una bruja local. Probablemente me atarían y me cortarían las bolas}

Where do I start with reviewing this one? I thought I had a strong stomach but boy was I wrong...I truly gagged and heaved throughout the entire book from start to finish. OMG...Do I really believe there are people out there with this kind of fetish?? I have to face up to it there most probably are...it turns my stomach over and over just thinking about it!! I'm not sure I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading this book...I didn't hate it, but I found it hard going...far too much mucus and bodily fluids being thrown about and slurped up all over the place...and that bloody tube thing...yes literally bloody!! I need to go and shower and wash this book off of me!!
Only 3 Snotty ⭐⭐⭐'s As I'm sure I feel a heavy cold coming on!! 🤧🤧🤧
I made the mistake of reading this after breakfast and gagged in the first chapter. For context, I’ve gagged at maybe three books in my entire life, and this was one of them. Maybe it was the fact that it started with a man accidentally swallowing his son’s snot and suddenly discovering a fetish for fluids (yep, you read that right).
The rest? Still fucking disgusting… But no more gagging. It was actually fascinating to watch the disgusting fetish evolve—from snot bukkake to, uh, much more. He even joins a group of like-minded people.
When people ask me what I like to read, I always dodge it. I always say it's “worse than asking a woman her age,” and this book is Exhibit A.
On a deeper note, I applaud Boote for writing this disgusting book. At the end of the book, he shares how fluids are actually a major trigger for him, something he can’t stand. And yet, he wrote about it. With control. With intention. And in doing so, made it therapeutic.
If you’ve been around here long enough, you know about my fear of flying (e.g., panic stories from a few days ago). And so much of that comes down to control.
So yeah… this weird little disgusting book about fluids?
J.Boote is quickly becoming a firm favourite author for me. This is grossly otherworldly. I never in my life will look at certain bodily fluids the same way. I shudder at the thought of ever having a runny nose again. The tubes. Oh the tubes! Your imagination is fantastic. Always make sure to read the end pages. There's so much information here and how the author draws his stories from really life situations or true crime stories and I love that.
Gary is a stay at home dad who takes care of his son. He's a normal man until one day he does the unthinkable. His son has a stuffed nose and then comes the snot. This repulses Gary! His wife buys him a tool with a tube that Gary needs to use. He puts one end up his son's nose, then the other in his mouth to suck out the gunk. He sucks a little too hard and ends up swallowing the snot. To his surprise, he enjoys it and gets excited. This is the start of a strange obsession.
He ends up finding a job and his obsession becomes more than just snot. But he keeps this a secret from everyone except the internet. He finds forums of people just like him. One person, in particular, intrigues Gary, and his obsession takes an insane turn. Does Gary have a limit? When is enough, enough for him?
What a snotty ride! This is book one of a new series J. Boote has coming about freaky fetishes/kinks and I'm here for it! This was nasty but entertaining! Gary has a full blown addiction. Just like addicts are addicted to drugs, Gary is addicted to body fluids. The spice in here was really good until the fluids came in. It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Boote's work and this was great. This comes out June 27th and you don't want to miss this one! Make sure to blow your nose or Gary might come and lick it up!
Gary is currently out of work and has become a stay at home dad to his two year-old son Aaron. When suddenly Aaron develops a really bad cold and won't stop dripping snot everywhere . Gary's wife Kim brings home a snot removing concoction from hell. After arguing back-and-forth with his wife, Gary decides to give it a try . Unfortunately, things go horribly wrong for Gary.. He winds up, sucking all of Aaron's snot down his throat. What's worse? He likes it. This was by far one of the most vomit inducing tales I have ever read. It was also hilarious and really quite emotional . Many thanks to Justin for the early read . This is set to drop on June 27th. Get your vomit bags ready !
Thank you, J Boote, for the ARC! Another 5-star read! This was absolutely DISGUSTING! Many people may not be able to stomach this, but somehow I made it through. (Just made sure I didn't eat at the same time, ha.)
Gary is absolutely disgusted by bodily fluids but one fateful night he is watching his young son who has a cold. His wife has given him a contraption to help their son Aaron clear his nose and get rid of his mucus. Something goes wrong and everything completely changes for Gary. This vile little novella even has a love story in it, so if you can stomach it, give it a read!
I’m dreading the next time I get a cold, because this book will be all I can think about!
Gary finds out that he is unexpectedly turned on by snot, and after enjoying it for a while, decides to test the limits of what other bodily fluids do it for him.
Right from page 1, this is probably one of the grossest books I’ve ever read and I cannot wait for the second one!
*I was kindly gifted a copy of the book from the author*
I've read my fair share of gross books and not much turns my stomach tbh BUT this is just nasty🤢🤢🤢🤢 another fab read from one of my favorite author's 😜
There’s a lot of weird fetishes out there and this one… this one is just gross… but hey… free lube I guess.
Gary discovers his kink when his wife buys a contraption to help with their son’s snotty nose. A tube with a piece of foam, basically a straw for snot. He avoids using it at first, finding it completely disgusting but one day he has no choice… and he forgets the foam bit. He ends up sucking the slimy green goop straight into his mouth… and he loves it and wants more. That’s just the beginning for Gary, who soon realises there are other bodily fluids that excite him as much and even an online community that shares his interests.
This is a very disgusting reading that somehow manages to be hilarious too. I loved that we see everything through Gary’s eyes and even he admits how ridiculous his kink sounds. And still he goes down the rabbit hole and to extreme measures to end it. As someone that is familiar with this tube thingie… and no, I have never used it myself… I was making all kind of faces while reading and I don’t regret every single one.
Now I’m just quietly sitting here… waiting for the next book in the series to be released. Haha!
No. I hated this so much. 😂 I’ve never wanted to DNF a book so bad in my life. 😭 I swear the little percentage monitor thingy on my kindle would NOT move because I REFUSED to give up. I didn’t think I had a gross-out trigger… apparently I do… and apparently the ONE author I make fun of for not being able to handle gross-outs… did me in. Well played my friend. 😅
This book was WILD. I don’t kink shame. But I might kink shame. 🤧 Snot… I can’t. I really just can’t. And yeah. This book. It’s that. It’s written really well though! And there’s actually way more to it than the icky stuff. Silver linings. 🤣
It’s under 60 pages and I almost couldn’t do it. That should say enough. 🤮 Do I recommend it though? Absofuckinglutely. It releases on the 27th but is available for preorder now. Godspeed. 🫠
I am damned that I need to read a book twice before I can attempt to write a review for it; this is just how I'm wired. (that's why I don't read full novels lately). And in case anyone wants to know why, it's because when I read something for the first time, I get easily overwhelmed.. especially when it comes to splatterpunk and extreme horror. This book provoked a lot of physical reactions and sensations in me-acid reflux, involuntary shivers, goosebumps. My nose was wrinkled all throughout; it is that disgusting.
Reading it for the second time, I was able to relax a little (while still mentally throwing up in some parts) and instead focused on how good the story and the quality of writing were. I should mention that this is my first J. Boote book, and I can't think of a better introduction to his body of work!
We followed a man's accidental discovery of a kink that he didn't know he had; how this kink started to consume every second of his waking moment; how he started to dangerously experiment with said kink, until it led him to an affair that would ultimately force him to make a life-altering decision, not just for himself, but for everyone involved. It was interesting to note that even if all of this sounds wrong, I was "forced" to consider this story from so many different angles, and at times, I did feel sorry for Gary. I was along for the whole ride that was going 140 mph and I know that it was gonna end in a fiery crash, but I didn't want to get off. I just had to see it through to the end, you know? And holy f*ck, what an unforgettable ride it was!
P.S. Hey, JB. If you're actually wondering why people look at the napkin after they blow their nose, I can at least tell you my reason. I'm just monitoring if there are any changes to the color/consistency of my snot, which tells me if I'm close to getting better. I'm not looking for gold, nor am I about to put it in a jar, you freak.
So I was scared of this, even though I bought it as soon as it was released! My only triggers/ gags are bodily fluids and 💩 but I just had to give this a go. I love Justin’s work so it was a self sacrifice 🤣
Gary has never had a strong stomach when it comes to snot, puke or changing nappies, he’s always been a little gaggy (like myself). So when his son gets a cold & has a constant runny nose his wife buys the tube contraction that sucks the snot straight out 🤢 obviously he’s horrified at this idea but with no one else to do it, he gives it a go & when the foam falls off and snot hits the back of his throat he realises he’s just found a new dirty kink & he actually loves it!! But how far will this kink go 🤮
Oh this was super gross, the amount of times I gagged was unreal 🤣 I somehow made it through & although it was obviously disgusting, I loved the fact that there was a real story behind it! How an obsession can really take over your life & change everything to a point there’s no returning from.
It was brilliantly done! Justin is fast becoming a go to author for me, definitely one to check out (if you can stomach it) currently on KU! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book y’all 🤢🤮 I’ve read some nasty shit but this one really had me disgusted to the point I was about to throw my kindle across the room lol. A snot fetish… but that’s not all. Towards the end there is a concoction of all sorts of bodily fluids to be injected that literally took my ass out. I was never so happy to be finished with a book. Sick to the highest degree😂
Listen I’m for all things gross, The gagging I did while reading this was almost as bad as reading Vigo. Recommend but it’s defintely not for sissies, weak stomachs, and people who don’t like swapping spit. Onto Soiled. 🖤💃🏽
A most gruesome fettish story that almost made me throw up on the plane to Vegas. I could imagine what my seat mates were thinking when they saw my face twist up in gross 🤢
Man FatCat aka J. Boote really had the stomach queasy on this one...gook luck to those who read this one and I highly suggest you do..😉😂 I had no idea a fettish like this existed, but here we are!
Fluid Freaks by J. Boote 🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌟 This is a tough one to “digest” for me. It’s really disgusting and I gobbled it up quickly! I’m pretty sure I had a weird look on my face while reading this entire book! Gary discovers his love of snot by accident when his 2 year old son has a bad cold. From that point on, this story takes a dive into some intense fluid fetishes! This short story was really gross, but pretty entertaining, and with a deeper meaning than just horrific bodily fluids.
Thanks to Justin Boote for a copy of this fantastically repulsive book! It’s very well written! I’m so surprised this is my first book from this author, but I have a ton of his books on my TBR list. I can’t wait to decide which to read next!!
*It’s out now! Check it out when you’re feeling phlegmy!* 🤧🩸🤧
Sick, twisted, disgusting and unbelievably enjoyable!! Fluid Freaks follows one father's journey of self discovery as he realises that he has a new found fetish for bodily fluids, all kicking off with snot.
I literally have no criticisms for this story. I adored it. I have never had a splatterpunk novel actually turn my stomach, but there were some moments when I was questioning myself.
If you're into the weird, deranged stories like me, Fluid Freaks is for you!
A revolting and enjoyable read that will leave you with your jaw on the floor when you finish! My first experience of the mind of J. Boote, and certainly not my last!
Wtf did i just read. Now, im not too bad with bodily fluids (i work in care) but I did gag at the beginning. Just a wee gag then it was fine and I powered on through. Gary, currently unemployed, is the stay at home dad while his wife goes to work. His 2 year old has a cold and he has to deal with the snot. Yep, that doesn't end great for him. A new fetish is born and snowballs from there.
well this certainly isn't a read for the faint hearted, or weak stomached for that matter! this book is absolutely disgusting and although it took me a minute to read between the dry heaving I couldn't put it down. Great twist at the end and once again another fantastic read from j. boote, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this.
Five stars for being the most disgusting thing I have read to date. Snot/spit is just something I find absolutely gross. I read lots of extreme horror, so yes, I’m used to reading gross stuff. Reading this involved lots of gagging but at the end of the day, it’s a fun time. The author even had a meaningful story line that ended up being sad, despite all the gags.
Check your triggers you have to have a strong stomach to get through this one and luckily I do. A great read of you are in to certain kinks and fetishes that have to deal with various bodily fluids

What the fuckity fucking fuck. I have been gagging and retching through this entire book and I felt like I could taste it. I hated it in the best way possible.
Deeply disturbing. I have a strong stomach, but I spent the entire read queasy and gagging. A terrible day to be literate, but an oddly funny and enjoyable read.
