“If you ever question yourself again, you need to promise me you will come find me immediately.”
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. “Why?”
I gently grazed her lips with mine. “So, I can remind you just how special you are.”
After an attack on Thornham left the future of vampires unclear, Ellie fears she will never see Carter again. Months pass and when there is still no sign of Carter, Ellie is forced to take up the near impossible task of filling his shoes.
If serving as a liaison between humans and vampires wasn't difficult enough, Bastian and his rebel armies are becoming stronger, threatening to destroy everything The Council has protected for centuries. It will take every instinct Ellie has gained to protect herself, the vampire race, and the man she loves.
But not everyone is who they seem. As long kept secrets come to the surface, Ellie is faced with the hard truth that the only person she can truly trust is herself.
Betrayal, lies, and unsuspecting allies will change the very course of Ellie's life. But will she have what it takes to survive the biggest war both vampires and humans alike have ever seen?
Good book. Picked up where the first one left off very nicely. Lots of good detail, good character development. Spice level wasn’t much. All in all a good read.
