Reading and inventing stories - usually with myself as the hero - have been part of my life since before I can remember it clearly. So what would come more natural than actually write them down?

In my stories you'll find all my preferred things - fantastic worlds, strong heroines, complex characters but also action, adventure and angst. There might even be the occasional romance involved, but first and foremost, I'm writing fantasy stories that I, myself, love to read and I hope that you'll enjoy reading them as much as I have fun writing them!

Kiss of Fate

3.5
A quick no spice fantasy that reminded me of a Disney fairytale complete with magic and instalove. The story was fast-paced and easy to read within a lunch break. If you’re looking for something cozy with a fairytale like vibe then check this one out.

Thank you Cecily Anne Winters for sending me this advanced review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was a really fun quick read! There was the perfect amount of worldbuilding, and the pacing was spot on for a shorter novella.

I enjoyed all the characters, especially Amarante. She is a strong woman, who is not afraid to do what she needs to survive. The romance was really sweet too.

I hope we will get future books in this world.

E-ARC read perfect for my lifestyle giving me the cozy romantasy vibes I needed!
Quick easy read… the perfect lil bite size fantasy romance for those with a hectic life who wish they had all the time in the world to read gargantuan romantasy stories but don’t and get irritated by the stop start of trying to achieve the impossible!

This was perfect for me, short, sweet and gave me my post work fix, it slotted in between my work and kids perfectly and helped me decompress from my day. From start to finish it was descriptive, imaginative but not overwhelming the story was wrapped up but left you wanting to know what happens in the next standalone?? Dare I say it has something to do with dragons?! I look forward to the next book by Cecily

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantasy Romance Review

A short and sweet fantasy escape! Kiss of Fate delivers an enchanting blend of magic, romance, and fate in a compact package perfect for cozy reading. Princess Amarante’s willingness to sacrifice for peace is admirable, and her unexpected bond with the quiet, powerful mage Tristan adds a lovely thread of slow-burn tension.

The prophecy element adds stakes without overwhelming the story, and the writing is easy to get lost in. While I would’ve loved a bit more depth or worldbuilding in places, this novella does exactly what it promises—delivering a heartwarming story with high stakes and tender moments. Ideal for readers who want a fantasy hit without the heavy page count!

This has the bones of a great full length story, but it falls into the traps of short stories-there’s too much going on to really get in depth with anything. We have the classic instalove between characters who only meet a handful of times, info dumping, and something a lot of cozy falls into-everything that could build the stakes up is solved with a deux ex machina. There’s no time to develop the characters, so it all comes out in the info dumps. I’m someone who needs to care about the character to truly enjoy a story, and I just didn’t have enough detail to care.

3.5 rounded up to 4 for the average. If the author ever decides to expand this into its own full length book or even a duology, I’d absolutely love to read it.

Thank you, Cecily, for sending this to me! It was the bite-sized fantasy I needed!

An adorably short, quick read, I was hooked from the first page until the last page. Going in, I knew it was bite-sized, yet I feel like I understood the story as a whole. I don't want to give too much since this is such a quick read, but it is worth the time to pick it up! Loved the prophecy and the cozy vibes of this story.

A wonderfully detailed short fantasy story. Orcs and elves and magic, and a touch of romance.

I was lucky to be given the chance to review Kiss of Fate of my own accord, through being offered an eARC.

This was really good/fun and a quick read. You can't go wrong when the book is under 100 pages. If you don't end up liking it, you only wasted maybe an hour of your time. Honestly, though, I dont think anyone could hate this book.
I really hope we get more books that stay in this universe.

I’ve gotten this as an arc for my honest review on the book, I just want to say thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this awesome book.

I thought this book was such a great read for a short fantasy book and it had such a good story line and has all you can think of when it comes to a nice clean fantasy read and it was amazing can’t wait to see if there would be another book after this.

Kiss of Fate is a fantasy romance of a witty Princess and a powerful Mage with an unavoidable prophecy that will not only affect their lives but also that of the entire Kingdom.

The blurb shared by the author says more than enough; no need to add more and spoil the fun for you. Is a short story, but I do want to add that I always enjoy an intelligent and strong FMC, and honestly, the author didn’t disappoint. I did struggle a little bit at the beginning with the back and forward between the use of nicknames and the full names, but it wasn’t that big of a deal for me, so it didn’t affect my rating.

The story was written as a multi-pov, and even though it's a stand-alone under the series of “Threads of Fate & Magic”, with that amazing ending, it leaves you wanting to know more about the amazing world Cecily had in mind while developing this wonderful story.

A short and cozy read.

It works well, I'm looking forward to reading the next ones. It has all the vibes of a big fantasy book, but not the pages. Maybe there were too many characters and places for such a short book, but it does serve a purpose for the plot.

Pick it up if you like:
- Short reads (novella format)
- Romance (sweet & cute)
- Fantasy (orcs, elves, magic, kingdoms...)

I received an e-ARC from the Author. Thank you to Cecily for the opportunity to read this book before its publishing date. This review is my own, and I'm leaving it voluntarily.

The only thing that disappointed me in this book was the the length. I loved the premise, descriptive world and characters connected with me, But they connected so much I want more!

A perfect read for when your looking something shorter but be warned you'll probably want more too.

Here's hoping it wont be a long wait for more.

As always Cecily has delivered a book that absorbs me into a fantasy world

I recieved this as an earc and bought it from amazon anyway 🤣

I think the premise wasn't too bad, though the execution could have been better.
It was hard for me to believe that, despite the mage and the princess already knowing each other, only after she was promised to the Orc King did they suddenly have such strong feelings for each other, but never before?

I honestly wish the book had been longer so Winters could have taken her time to flesh out the story, world, and characters.

Kiss of Fate is a cute short story with nice world building and big characters who beg to be fleshed out in a really long story - as in, there's enough to be even more curious about without taking away from the novella as is. The craft Cecily Anne Winters displays is enticing. I've read this book as an ARC reader and leave this review completely out of my own volition.

Short, Cozy Read

It is indeed short and clean, fairytale like. Too short for my liking but it's not bad. It is still an okay read for those who wanted a warmth up before reading a long one.

This book builds a big, big world in very few pages - including some really unexpected plot twists! There's a lot happening right from the start so it's easy to jump right in + it's short enough that you can squeeze it in around real life without losing track of all the details of the story. There's magic in the land, witches/mages, humans, elves, orcs, sweet romance, and brutal realities of war. Basically, all the makings of a huge fantasy series but without the exorbitant time and energy commitment. It does mean that the reader has to just be *told* some things, rather than learning them through character interactions and experiences, but that's what helps keep this short and sweet.
